This is FUCKIN music not the garbage they have today.
Even after all these years ,this is still a wonderful song.. still listening to it..in 2022..
Eddie & the Cruisers had such a great soundtrack because of these guys.
This music bring me back to yourh. Driving with my girl in the summer nights
This is what music should be! Every word every note and tune you feel! And everyone of us here luv John and appreciated his music and if your from where I'm from! John may not have been from Mass but being our neighbor and from New England he was loved and respected by all here! I was only a little kid when my dad would throw this Album on from Eddie and the Cruisers but he had many of John's LPs also. My dad was a collector of records and sports cards! And he definitely supported the local boys like John. So this song means a lot to me and the best memories of time I spent with my dad before he passed in 89 I was only 14 then. Now I'll be 47 next week and this is still one of my favs to play out loud for others to all look at me and ask who or what is that. I just turn and shake my head and feel sorry for em!
John Cafferty makes music with heart and soul. Wished there were more like him.
john cafferty is one of the best voices that I have heard ever
My favorite song from "Eddie and the Cruisers." I didn't even know they were not a real band till recently! So happy to see the real performers. The sax player is just incredible! And that piano at the end, brings me to tears, it's so beautiful!
Cafferty most underrated singer EVER! This is real music so talented
I am 73 years old. I saw the movie right when it came out. This song was my favorite. The funny thing about this, in the movie, was this was written by Tom Berenger!!!
Sucks getting old. They don't make songs like this anymore .
I'm just a young college kid, but this kind of music is WAAYYY better than the garbage on the radio now, classic rock is most of the music I listen to/play on the guitar
I'm still crying... since I was 10 yrs old. Eddie and the Cruisers. So sad. John Cafferty is so handsome.
Just remember folks that without this great talented singer and band ....Eddie and the cruisers will not even exist. Im so greatful for this band to be able to inspire such a brilliant movie that means so much to me. I take my hat of to them.
When the moon hung soft and low, catching stardust in the light...
They don't write songs like this anymore!
his voice is amazing and that saxophone playing I can listen to all day
I loved this song when it first came out. All this time and it still stops me in my tracks the moment I hear it, every time. Where did the time go? I am still stuck in Never Neverland...
When "Eddie and the Cruisers was on HBO my two boys were just little kids. Now I'm retired and they have children of their own. Kenny Chesney describes it the best way in his song " Don't blink".
I love the sound of his voice.
Hello Rebecca, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus??
You know its a good song when you can feel it electrifying your body....
I graduated in 83 and used this song for the closing credits of a video I created of the classmates. They asked me to play the ending of the video numerous time so they could hear the song over and over.
I saw them live in Rhode Island in the late 80s. They were OUTSTANDING live. Between sets they'd come out to the audience and talk with everyone. Very cool.
Great voice! Such a deep, yet, tender!
Excellent song no matter what anyone says.
@@kikosmith2088 Yes they might, but we're not here to listen to them now, are we? ;-)
Makes me think of the one love of my life. Blessed to have encountered and shared magic with her
I love his vocals!!!
This was my favorite song when it came out. I was in high school. The 80's were probably the best decade for music. I remember our 9th. grade health teacher telling us that high school would be the best time of our lives. I thought he was full of it. Now I realize what he was saying. This song really takes me back.
I can listen to music on my iPod anywhere but, I think I'll go sit in my truck and listen, right there in the driveway, just because. Maybe I'll start with some Bob Seger. Then John Cougar... Yeah.
I'm in high school and all my friends think I'm weird for listening to 70s/80s music like the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Seger, and John Mellencamp. They're all into modern mumble rap and pop. I'm trapped in my mom and dads generation.
Scott Nestle so is my sophomore son, nothing wrong with that. It was great music.
was and still is my favorite movie mine and my fathers.... my dad played sax... i could listen to this song forever..i miss you dad...
I had the exact same experience with my dad growing up as well. Mine taped the entire second movie on cassette to listen to on road trips... Its that good you dont even have to watch it to enjoy every minute... Why did the sax disappear just from future music generations? It's so good! :-)
The Saxophone is one of the most magical instruments for soulful rock n roll, anyone that can play it is a god. I hope you know that your Dad is watching over you with his Sax in Heaven buddy. ;)
Brings back so many memories of a time when men were men, people were honest and so much more....
The geatest fuckin sax solo I’ve ever heard in my life. I’m still listening in 2022! This stuff is timeless man!!!!
I love this Fucking Song..
I saw them in Wildwood in the late 90s. Probably one of the most inspirational moments in my life. I am now 40 and just wish these guys got the credit they deserved. Awesome Band.
Also best sax solo EVER
agreed this is great sax playing but the Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street has the best sax solo ever.
This song has always melted my heart. Thankyou.
They don't make music like this anymore
@@harleykingman Let up on him, man. He's deep in pensive thought over the lyrics of the Justin Biebees,
Baby, baby, baby, alright,
Baby, baby, baby, alright.... blahh, blahhh, blahhhhh
Blechhhhhhhh, barffffffffff, ralphhhhhhh!!!!!!
True talent never dies 💞
Mr.Cafforty if you're still out there you still keep on going becuase your a real legend!
And again Mr Gerald hemptead you preached your own son Colby's funeral 2 months after you lost your brother to a herion I
Overdose. That's the way your your son also. Wow.
Real legend that a certain someone had to copy before he got recognition. I'm sure everyone knows who that is
@@MrSwitchblade327 John Cafferty is the OG Boss! I like some of the stuff the other guy put out but John sounds much better and for good reason since it was afterall his style before a poser came along and tried to make it his own.
@@dmfj1980 I've been trying to validate your claim....heard that before.....sound is nearly identical.....let me know your source for the claims that Bruce copied him please
Graduated HS in 1985. This was prom or dinner dance theme. Can't remember which. Still love this song today!! Perfect slow dance song!!! Turning 57 next month and wondering where the years went.
Truly great song, puts me in the mind of myself too many years ago!
this style of music makes it very hard to keep still, This is REAL music. Love everything by John Cafferty

Every time I play this video I get chills. Tunes can really belt it out on that sax.
A legendary song from my youth.. Those magical 80s were the tender years for me. Oh how I miss those years and still wish that they were still here.

My favorite of theirs luv the movie Go Eddie and the Cruisers
Hello Yvonne, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus??
This is one artist that should be more well known. Great stuff, John.
yes it sucks getting old.
thinking about what you should or shouldn't have done different thru the years but be thankful you was able to see old age.some didn't get that chance........
YEP, I'M 56 & I WAS VERY SHY IN H.S. NOT ONE GIRLFRIEND, I MISSED OUT ON THAT FUN THAT WAS THE 80'S, I KNOW A LUCKY FEW WHO DATED IN H.S. AND ARE STILL MARRIED. WHEN CERTAIN SINGS COME ON, YOU CAN JUST SEE THE MEMORIES IT BRINGS BACK FOR BOTH OF THEM.
I WAS SO INTO SPORTS, TOTAL ATHLETE, ALMOST MADE MENS NATIONAL SOCCER TEAM, ALMOST, HAHA
It's still fantastic after all these years.

Wow - that sure brings back memories!!! Loved "Eddie & the Cruisers" and the great music.
This song will forever remind me of my boyfriend. He died of cancer almost 2 yrs.ago and he loved this song and he loved watching Eddie and the Cruisers.I get sad every time i hear it,but i love it too!
I used to watch this movie on WHT back in the early 80's with my wife.
I love you and I miss you, Annie.
One of my favorite songs of all time👍
This song always blows me away, no matter what. It reminds me of when I was 20 and just enjoying life as a 20 year old, but this song remains with me even now in 2018.
Love this song ever since the first time I heard it.
Been back so many memories
This guy was nothing short of spectacular....I was born In 1979,. My father loved this movie and soundtrack...My Identical twin sister loved it and too so much...
want my tender years back so much, it hurts.
We didn't realize how tender they were until they were gone! Dam song makes me smile and wanting to cry each time I hear it.
One of the greatest bands of all time
I saw them last night in Londonderry, NH and it was awesome, especially Tender Years and Dark Side. Especially Michael Atunes on the sax. 76 years old and he played it just like this. Brought tears to my eyes. Especially when he spoke about this song and what it means to him.
I thought what! 76! but then I added up the years and yup you are correct.......I'm getting old but still love their music as much as I did when I first heard it!
VERY GOOD SINGER . MISTER JOHN CAFERTY . THANK YOU VERY MUCH .
Mr Flores I agree 100 percent thank you beaver brown band 4 some awesome tunes
need to play this kind of music more often, make a radio station just for this kind of music.
These cats are still out there touring, kicking ass and not taking prisoners! 40+years and still rock no roll relevant kids! Check out their LIVE shows near you or in Rho-Diland this summer! Request this song too, lol Cheers JC&BBB
This is one of my favorite songs. Timeless and relevant. Thanks John.
This is real music....
Did you love the sequel to Eddie & The Cruisers which explained why Eddie Wilson let the public believe he was killed when his car went off the bridge?
the first movie was amazing but the second one is kind of a mess also it was weird how eddie didn't want anyone to know that it was him yet he dressed the exact same as the first movie
THE big AL govea old habbits die hard .. i picked up guitar because of those movies .. 1st guitar at 8, and i still play now 20 years later
What blows me away is how anybody could give this a thumb down. lol.
I had crush on him back in the day
Hello Julie, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus??
Absolutely love this song
Love this!!! Amazing voice and songs. Rock n Roll!!!!!
What a song. What a one-of-a-kind voice. Only one woman comes to my mind when I hear this.
Still Amazing in 2022. Love every minute of this!
Hello Deborah, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus??
Best thing they ever did. Haunting.
Puts a smile on the face and a little lump in the throat to just about everyone that's walked a Rhode Island Beach or a New Jersey Shore Boardwalk
loved the music in eddie and the cruisers, play it all the time, well done John Cafferty, timeless.
i fell in love with this man's voice 28 years ago. each time i hear this song, john's voice and 'tunes' sax, my soul is filled with longing...for what? i don't know. i love ya john. i love ya
'tunes'.
He was a GREAT Sax player! True, pure, raw talent! He made the sax talk to you without saying a word.
John, If you are reading this, it was great to you, Antoones and the boys on Sunday for the fundraiser, Rhode Island Rocks 4 HAITI. You still have all the gusto you have always had.
We & you, are the class of 1969 , North Providence High. It was great for many of us there from our class, to see you perform. It looked more like the old days at Gulliver's in Smithfield, on Tuesday nights, 1973~ LOL
Thanks for contribution to the concert fundraiser man-- it meant a lot to everyone.
John Cafferty and the beaver Brown Band one of the best groups around we lived in the same town and now I'm in the next town so with 5 miles apart where they grow up they grew up in Narragansett Rhode Island they're a great band and I love all that Eddie and the cruisers music its great you never get tired of hearing it it just makes you feel so good when you listen to it thanks for sharing

A beautiful SOUL, I'm fresh out of sisters. 😢😲 that explains why I'm still purging
I wish this band was still around but like all good things they come to an end and most of the good bands of the 80's are gone. Too bad cause there are so many great one's
They are around ! They played on the boardwalk at Asbury this summer. At least that's the info I have, check it out.
They will be in Fall River, MA on May 18....I will see you there. I'm driving 17 hours one way, but it's my chance. I was 4 when this movie came out, John Cafferty is the greatest....❤❤❤
@@samanthanavarrete5823 I'm late 2 this thread, I remember when this movie came out (I was 11 or 12) & then watching it over & over on VHS. U have good taste in music!
I love this song and movie so amazing!
Queenite. I can't get enough of this music,I've sung Tender years,On the Dark side in karaoke. That a sax player is GREAT
Great karaoke song, I used to sing it all the time when I hosted my own karaoke show. Had to drop it from my list after my boss and friend moved out east, couldn't get through it without choking up.
The sax just makes me cry harder! Missin my youth..
Hello Melissa, how are you doing today, hope you’re fine and safe from the Virus??
Takes to that special place in my youth. Great music.
When the moon hung soft and low,
Catchin' stardust in the light
You held me closer and closer
There was magic in the night
A sweet love song, a melody
that I still can recall
Two young hearts filled with dreams
To walk away with it all
Whoa, whoa tender years
Won't you wash away my tears
How I wish you were here
Please don't go, tender years
A summer love, a beach romance
Sought her kisses in the sand
Two young hearts filled with fire
Lost in never-neverland.
Whoa, whoa tender years
Won't you wash away my tears
How I wish you were here
Please don't go, tender years
Memories are something we all hold onto. Keep the GOOD ones. Let go of the Bad ones. Make room for the NEW ones.
I love this tru tunes xxxxxooooo
I did turn my back on you, omg, may God continue to have mercy on my soul.
This is a GREAT song, and everybody in it did a really good job---John Cafferty on vocals, and all the officials. But the person who MADE this song was the sax player, Michael "Tunes" Antunes.
how were these guys not one of the all time biggest bands, great music great vocals
It's the piano solo at the end that gets me every time.
I'm not ready to let go of my dad,,
These are truly the tender years.
This is real music!!!
tender yrs wont you wash away my tears
I WISH THEY WERE DISCOVERED FASTER THAN BECAUSE OF A MOVIE. ALL THEIR MUSIC IS WONDERFUL. I'M GLAD THEY ARE WELL KNOWN NOW. I LOVE THE MUSIC, LYRICS ETC. GOOD LOOKING MAN~~JOHN CAFFERTY! NO MATTER HOW OLD I GET, I WILL ALWAYS. LISTEN TO THIS BAD ASS MUSIC!

yes agree the sax player did made this song so love it :-)

Much respect for your grandfather, what an amazing talent,
he did great, and stood out in the movies too,
something about the look of his face,
you could somehow tell he actually lived it.
I'm only here because I stayed up too late watching my buddies old VHS tapes. The first time I heard Eddie and the Cruisers play this song I cried. The sax speaks so much for the song. They truly don't make music like this anymore
This band was criminally underrated. If Springsteen decided to record this song tomorrow, it would probably be a #1 hit.
Someone on Facebook just thought he did...
Lindon I absolutely agree 💯
I don't believe he would he has a totally different vibe
I agree.
Agreed!!!
