@@ChrisWilmshurst No worries. Really enjoy watching your nice clean content 👌🏻 Actually the studio is doing great thank you. I’ve made some more small changes but I think it’s finally how I imagined it would be. Hopefully you get a chance to try something similar in the future 🙂
Does seem useful but it takes away the space for an HD webcam for calls. If somehow, you can put it above it, it creates more disparity in recording/streaming angle for calls. Thoughts?
They’ve released a new version since this was posted which has a mount for a webcam, alternatively you could buy a table top tripod or an elgato arm to mount a webcam to just off to the side
Is it possible to use the screenbar as kind of a studio light so you can film with a Webcam and use the screenbar to light up the face? My Question is if the Screenbar can be turned up so much that the light from it shines in the face?
I'm still wondering which version of the screenbar to get. The plus version has the small control puck on the table. It looks more practical, but costs more and it does mean more 'junk' on the table...
It all depends on whether you can see your self adjusting it regularly. With my setup it turns on when the monitor is on and it auto adjust throughout the day. I don’t ever mess with it.
This is the regular one (no hockey puck) and you can connect it to anything that powers usb, for me I used my monitor as it turns on and off when my monitor does. And as I have it on auto settings I don’t ever have to touch it once the monitor is on or off
It’s definitely improved my tolerance for sitting at my desk for up to six hours at a time! Obviously, distance from monitor, and monitor hight help too.
I noticed you’re using a Herman Miller Aeron. I’m curious what size chair you use and your height/weight? I’m in the market for one and trying to decide between size B or C.
@@defaultdefault812 it helps balance out direct and indirect lighting, if you google lighting the workspace ergonomics there are various articles on why its good to have balanced lighting with limited-to-no glare.
I think you'd probably need two to cover such a huge screen as you'd most likely have dead spots where the single light can't hit (probably around the top left and right corners)
Hello sir , I have seen your M1 mac mini review . I really want to know that games will run on M1 mac mini . Hope you will read and try this games : - Command and Conquer Generals : Zero hour . - Command and conquer red alert 2 , 3 . - Command and conquer remastered. They are all on origin . Thanks you .
Hi Mate, I didn't realise these were ported to Mac? If they run on an Intel Mac they should run just fine on an M1 Mac :) - also this comment would have been better on the M1 video haha, but hopefully this helps.
You could mount it elsewhere on your desk or using a tripod. I personally use a camera for my webcam mounted on a table top tripod. Does the same job and most webcams have adapters for this
@@ChrisWilmshurst Looks like quite a bit of glare from it at the top of the screen. Is that a fair observation, or is the video just quite unflattering? On a curved 34" ultrawide myself and mulling this over.
Hello, sir, I think it’s inappropriate to put this screen light on your curved screen.I have a curved monitor light is specially designed and produced by us for curved screens. We are confident that it will be quite a unique product, and this new design concept will become a new trend, so before launching it, we hope to get the support of strong promoters.
Nice review mate. I’ve been eyeing one of these up, I think it looks minimal and useful. You don’t even know it’s there when switched off too.
Thank you mate, it’s definitely a great investment I’d say. Plus, you have a flat monitor so you’d get an even better experience with it.
Looks like it makes a huge difference to general desk lighting, tempted by this as I use an Apple keyboard with no backlight!
Funny you should say that, I've been looking at picking up an Apple keyboard again! I reckon they'd be a great combo
@@ChrisWilmshurst Haha great minds!
Had one of these for a while. Great video, Chris 👍🏻
Thanks for the kind words mate! How's the studio holding up?

I've never been a huge fan of the look of these, but they do look crazy useful - great vid!
Thank you mate!
awesome review. clean and concise. Just 1 question, where's your monitor stand from please??
It’s since been replaced, but if you watch my new desk setup video all the links are in the description!
@@ChrisWilmshurst thanks for the reply. I found it but it's been discontinued by Ikea! trying to get my hands on a second hand one! 🙄
Facebook marketplace is a good area to look, that’s where I got mine
Nice review, thanks!
Thanks for taking the time to watch it Francesco

Technically yes, but you would have to mount it somehow, you’d be better off buying a ring light. It would be much cheaper and serve your purpose

Tim, I'm also wondering with the same question - what did you eventually do?
thanks
I’d save the money and go for the regular one if I were you
Can you share what monitor stand you are using? Thanks!
Sure thing, its this one geni.us/tIA0gLo
does it damage the screen for thin bezel monitors because it clamps to it? i m worried that it can cause screen bleeding in the long run
So far no issues and I’ve had it a while. The clamp sits on top more than clipping to the screen
Two questions, is this the normal one? Also do I plug it into my PC or monitor? Thanks and have a great day

@@ChrisWilmshurst also is this item good for eye strain?
It’s the twelve south arc stand here’s a link amzn.to/2RTJfeR

I’m 5’10 and average build and I’m using the B, be is good for most people!
It looks like it is putting pressure directly on your screen. Is this the case?
Not at all!
But why am i buying a light to light up my computer screen which is already creating its own back light?
Ergonomics mate. It decreases the strain on your eyes, meaning that you technically should be able to use the screen for longer
@@ChrisWilmshurst okay, i guess i need to do more research into this. Thanks for the response.
If you have a monitor that automatically adjusts to ambient light, is there a point to this device?
It lights up the entire workspace as well, which can help avoid eye strain. As an automatic adjusting monitor will only do so much.
@@ChrisWilmshurst What's the benefit in broad daylight?

Where can I put my monitor webcam now?
If it’s adjustable to the side of the lamp or get yourself a nice little table top tripod for ot

That glare might be coming from the big video light I use. But it works perfectly well with my curved monitor
