Why do you go to Stanford to boost your draft stock? It would have made more sense to earn his degree and develop at the college level even though Zaire Williams was a lottery pick. For all we know, he’ll be back in college in 2 years after flunking out of the league.
From what I’ve read, Stanford had been recruiting him for a veryyy long time so he had a really good relationship with the staff. His parents also heavily emphasized academics when he was growing up, so that might’ve played a role in his decision as well. But yea from a basketball standpoint, he definitely had better options
If you’re a lottery pick you go. And you develop more in the nba or g league than in college.
There is little chance he would be back at Stanford. Why would he go back there specifically? And why wouldn’t he continue to play in either the g league or the numerous leagues overseas.
