Today we came to Vank Church in Isfahan.
And in the luxury neighborhood of Jolfa.
Vank Church, whose other name is Holy Redeemer Church.
And inArmenian itis called Amena Parkij.
It is a church in Jolfa neighborhood of Isfahan,
which. is taken from the name. of Surp Amena Parkij Vank church in Nakhchivan.
Visiting hours of Vank Church are daily from 8:30 am to 13:30 pm and in the afternoon from 16:00 to 18:30.
The ticket. price is 40 thousand tomans per person,
It's dollar equivalent is about 50 cents.
This church is one of the historical churches of the Armenians of Isfahan,
and it was built during the time of Shah Abbas ll.
Vank means monastery inArmenian.
This historical monument is located on Jolfa street.
Vank Church is one of the historical churches of the Armenian of Isfahan.
and one of the valuable historical monuments of IRAN.
This church was registered in the national register in 1310,
and it's name is derived from the name of Surp Amena Parkij Church.
Vank Church has another name and it is called Holy redeemer Church.
This church was built. during the time of Shah Abbas ll and by Jolfa Armenians.
The history of this church dates back to 1906.
and until today, more than a century has passed since its construction.
which was known as Hakob's Church.
The current building of Vank Church was built after. about 50 years, i.e in 1655 AD.
Andin 1664, the construction of this church was. finished.
One of the. attraction of Vank Church is it's paintings.
All parts of church: The walls, arches, domes and differentcorners of the church are filled with a lot of paintings.
Some of the paintings are on the walls, some are on canvas and cloth and some are on the stone.
Most of the paintings on the wall of the church express topics from the Bible.
Inthe part of the church, there are images from the birth to the ascension of Jesus.
and on part of the walls, the day of resurrection, heaven and hell are painted.
Next to the paintings, the statues in the church attract our attention.
which are bust statues of Armenian celebrities.
The first building that attraction our attention upon entering the church is the bell tower.
which is built on three. floors and above the entrance door.
A large clock weighing 300 kg on the 2nd floor of this tower has made it known as the clock tower.
On the 4 side of the tower, there are 4 clock heads, each of which has a diameter of 104 cm.
And the sound of their bell can be heard far away.
This tower and clock was built byMardis Hontanian.
