    I gotta tell you, that was great! I had not done this installation in over 12 years. You did a great job, and I thank you

      I hope it helps. I've changed my tube once but fully cleaned/aligned every other month. (Standard cleaning every day or two to keep optics strong)

    I watched your video and I Thank You for doing it. I am purchasing a local Mini 18 30 watt that is still working but is 5 years old. I see that it might be possible to upgrade it to a 60 watt with power supply and tube.

    • @LifeWithRoger
      @LifeWithRoger  Před rokem +1

      Yes, you can upgrade the laser. Would probably be cheaper to buy a used 60w though. Age isn't that big of a factor btw, I still use an EXT from 2006

    Thank you very much for this video. I have to get my replaced shortly and it is nice to actually see how it is being done. May I ask how much does it cost for a new laser tube?

    • @LifeWithRoger
      @LifeWithRoger  Před 2 lety +1

      Varies by wattage and machine. And it varies by a lot. A 60w mini should cost around 1000-2000, 120w is way higher

      Call epilog support. They are very good. Lots of things can go wrong but if you troubleshoot with them they'll take it step by step and help you figure it out

    Please, I have a problem with the laser tube. When I do a plus, the tube lights up and when I turn on, it does not light up and does not emit a laser. What is the reason? I changed a new power supply and the problem is still. Is the tube destroyed?

      If you have an epilog laser, call support. They are very good. If you have a different laser, i don't know how about it

    I have a 60w helix probably dead tube:(
    No red/green/ orange led on the tube, besides the rj45 patch cable input.
    The machine operates normal, but no laser beam comes out. Is this tube you changed in the video really expensive in usa also?

    • @LifeWithRoger
      @LifeWithRoger  Před 5 lety +1

      oh yeh, it was $5400 to upgrade from 40 to 60 in my Mini....AND you have to ship them back the one you take out (Which for me kinda sucked since it was still in great condition. I just wanted a stronger tube)

      @@LifeWithRoger when you did the 40 -> 60 upgrade, was it just the laser that was upgraded or did the PSU have to get upgraded too? Was the upgrade worth it? (material thickness I assume?)

      @LifeWithRoger  Před 5 lety +2

      If you are asking when you need to change, the answer varies. First, if it gets too weak to do the job. Second, If it becomes so slow that it costs you money. Of course you'd also change it if it simply stopped working.

    • @LifeWithRoger
      @LifeWithRoger  Před 5 lety +2

      Could be the material. However, I would first suggest doing a FULL clean of your laser. Encoder strip, all mirrors and lenses. Then I would make sure the bed is level and you are properly in focus. Those are things you should check first before even considering replacement of your tube.
