- On this hunt Jim and I stop in a town that we've never been to before and the first house we hit ends up being absolutely loaded! We were originally trying to check out an old park out that way, but it was a bust so we stopped here on the way back. I am sure glad we did!

Thank you soooo much for showing things after they’ve been cleaned up. Really ups the happy hormones!
I can hear an old friend's grandparents yelling "Don't rub the dirt ! You'll scratch it even more !"
They loved treasure hunting at fair grounds, public parks, beaches, ect. long before fancy metal detectors came along.
Hey guys,
I'm an old timer woman., and I do remember using some of those coins when I was a kid., Aren't they beautiful coins?
I wish they were still used as currency. "Times Change", Ehh? Wow do I feel OLD now! You guys are doin great. GBU., NZ. 🙂😁🙂
So-you just walk up to the door and say”hey, do you mind if I dig up your yard and keep what I find”? And they LET YOU? 🤔. WOW! That’s incredible and some great finds. 🤗
Dial 811 before you dig lol
@@jasonmyers9026 more than a foot ye lol
I realize this is an old video but I wanted to say I like the way you show your finds cleaned up right after you dig them.
Yes so you can see all the scratches from them rubbing the dirt off.
I don't detect much, and have only found 2 silver coins, both 1943 Mercury dimes, one across the road from me and one next door. Found loads of clad , and those pennies copper plated zinc that corrode to nothing, but found a heart shaped sterling silver piece of jewelry with 25 tiny diamonds in the "hunted out park" that went on a necklace, never could find the chain, but I looked for it a long time. A neighbor that is in a metal detecting club was amazed he didn't find it!
Sweet!
I work on appliances and dryer’s tend to have a lot of change in them, and I threw them in my drive way. Kids love my drive.
This looks like the type of home that once hosted garden parties, picnics & other old fashioned social gatherings. And why there is so much dropped pocket change. Wouldn't be surprised if you find old earrings & cuff links too.
That and kids were playing outside from morning until dark most summer days:)
WOW what a day, the kind we all wish for. You found in one day what takes me a year to find.
Thanks Raymond! This one was just lucky. We didn't even plan on hitting that town.
Wow, that was an amazing day of metal detecting. Great job gentlemen! Looking forward to seeing your next video.
After the hole has been opened, you should consider using a firm plastic blade to avoid all of the nicks/scratches as they greatly depreciate the value of each coin.
and quit rubbing the grit into the coin. man that kills me
@@normal_media Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh worry about your own coins granny panties.
@@normal_media Man these guys makes me think the Love has been lost or they don’t really care.
@@lionsdejudah man just mind your business, they do whatever they want with the coins
Yea - those are the yards you want - probably never been dug up or messed with, lots of yummy coins!
Thanks Wonda!
You guys really find a lot of silver. And like Ray Allen said 5 months ago... how in the heck do you find anybody willing to let you dig holes all over their yards? That just seems so unlikely. But I'm glad you do, because these metal hunt well, coin hunt mostly for me, videos are some of my favorite YT videos of all!
Yes, where I live, even setting foot on someone's property, to ask permission, could get you shot!
I ask people I know, people that approach me in parks or curb strips if they chat me up about my hobby.
I have not tried door knocking yet. Too scared fir me! Lol
My Dad and Uncle once found civil war coins on a shelf in an OLD shack in the woods. It was empty, but they ran their hands over the shelf, and bingo !! They were Not gold or silver, but cool. They donated them to the local museum I guess there is so much stuff out there from past years, it shouldn't be a surprise.
nice mint marks, its always a good day when you see a mint mark on an old coin
Awesome Guys!! I explore old abandoned houses just to take photos but have often thought how cool it would be to find old coins.
Probably an easier way to clean the dirt off in the field is to carry a condiment-sized tupperware container of water, just place the coin inside and shake the container for a few seconds. Can be re-used over and over, and you can even place a sawed-off toothbrush inside to do a more thorough scrub.
Robert Evans that is a great idea Robert! I may do that as well! Unfortunately, I am a rubber too.
Depending on the artifact, this idea is pretty solid (coins, solid brass objects, etc). However, this would be a bad idea for delicate items such as buttons, jewelry, etc. I would recommend wearing a canteen of water to resupply the smaller spray bottles when needed. Also, recommend bringing along small pill bottles to protect delicate artifacts. Fill 1/2 way with dirt from the hole the artifact came from, then place the artifact in the bottle, then finish filling it with the moist dirt from the hole. This will ensure the artifact does not dry out during the day and crack. Remember, it survived possibly 100s of years in the rough old ground, till we humans came along a damaged them with love! Lol. Good luck and hope ya'll find a mess of stuff!
Its never a good idea to clean a coin in general. Loses all value to a collector once scrubbed clean.
What a great idea Robert Evan’s! 👍

I’m amazed at that awesome lookin dirt!
What a great day you had!! Thanks for showing each coin cleaned up. It makes your finds more interesting.
I have a lot off old coins but don.t know how to go
About selling them.
The spray bottle is funny lol
Wow, Zach! Just...wow! What a silver day! I am speechless! Awesome, awesome day!!!
Thanks Cynthia! Thats how I felt too!!
Super cringe tingles down the spine when you hear that dirt scraping against those marvelous coins😢
Wow, what a day!!! Great finds, and lots of ‘em!!! Congrats!!!
Thanks my friend! Glad you could stop by!
So cool! Thanks for sharing! I have many fond memories of using a metal detector as a kid - 40 + years ago. wonderful times!
DREAM HUNT!! So fun to watch! Keep it up, fellas and HH! Congrats!
Thanks Ian! Glad you could stop by man!
GREAT! Finds! Alot of Silver!
Thanks Richard!
That was one awesome day. Great content the 1937 at the beginning ! All that history in your hands. Take care of lady Liberty beautiful coins. The scratch on that one is actually a memory of that day.
What a great bunch of finds! Thanks for sharing! :)
I love how excited y’all get
That’s one excellent day.
What an amazing permission. To get all four styles out of one yard wow. Congratulations Jim! Thanks for sharing your epic hunt. GL, HH and take care.
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed! This yard was actually in Iowa. I don't hunt in Iowa much but we actually ended up in your state this time haha.
@@GreatOutdoorsDetecting Was wondering which state that was; nice to know. A relative of mine just moved to Iowa. As I mentioned before, California people are not very friendly for the most part, so it would be really hard to find anyone willing to let detectorists on their property for any reason.
Thrilling to see some of the lawful currency of the US prior to 1913. It should all have an extremely high collector value. Fun video, thanks for sharing it.
It's so much fun watching you guys dig up old coins! Thanks for posting.
What a hunt!!! A walker half is definitely on my list. Loved it. Thanks for sharing!!! Kevin.
Thanks Kevin! You're doing great yourself! Shouldn't be too long before you find one
Down South Detecting I want a walker anything. Lol. I’ve got a seated and barber half. Just can’t seem to find a walker. Lol. You’re killing it!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@GreatOutdoorsDetecting so cool finds , you said at the being you knocked on doors to get permission, and do the owners want the finds ?
Glad YT recommended this - fun to watch!
Wow, I always thought once I hit 65 I have to start new hobbies, rc boats, magnet fishing, and metal detecting! 🔥🔥🔥
Great goal!
Reminds me of the dark ages of detecting...you know, back in the 80's :-) Can you imagine a time hunts like this were NORMAL? We had a truck load of fun back in the day!
Lol, I can only imagine what it was like back then!
If only I got into the hobby back then!
I got my first Whites detector in 81 or 82 and the finds were great. Virgin untouched places begging to be searched. People gave you permission without a thought. Now you can’t go anywhere where the signs of the hunter are not everywhere.
Nice job fellas! Love those untouched yards!
Thanks Will! Glad you enjoyed!
WELL DONE FELLAS
Thanks Israel!
Awesome hunt!! You guys did great!!! Keep it up! GL&HH! ~Andrew
Thanks Andrew! Glad you enjoyed man!
we inherited a home built in the 1700's (new hampshire) about 20 years ago....i wish I thought about doing the detecting. inside and outside the home....(this home still had a dirt cellar)....but it was winter time and we sold the home in the spring......*dam*.
Aw! Too bad!
Awesome hunt and video. I must admit though, when you grabbed that Walker out of dude's hand, I cringed. I don't take too well with people grabbing stuff from me like that. Your buddy is more restrained and cool headed than me for sure!
That was my 1st thought too.
WTH DUDE...but it's all good if your GOOD buddy's ..
Ya, I cussed him in my head.
Yeppers, it takes the excitement out of the video when THE OTHER GUYS come running up an start cleaning up the find.
Yeah this one is a no for me because of that 🙄 I mean I love how they show the cleaned right after the dig.. I wish hell let his buddy celebrate his finds before he snatches it tho 😒
No doubt. Let the guy that dug the hole and found whatever take his findings out himself.
nice finds take care and HAPPY HUNTING everyone...
Thanks George!
Love getting on yards like that! Nice finds!
Thanks man! I appreciate it!
J
Absolutely amazing hunt guys! My first and only silver coin (so far ) is an 1860 Seated Dime, S mint mark! Congrats to the both of you! God bless!
Thanks Tracy! An 1860 dime is still epic though! Any silver from the 1860s is really rare
Wow! I’ve found lots of silvers and NEVER. A Seared Dime! Congratulations!
@@MetalDetectingDonna Thank you!
My first silver coin is.... nothing, I never found one
Seriously enjoyed watching! Incredible coins you found! Great day!
Outstanding hunt, a detectorists dream
Thanks man! Glad you enjoyed
Not mine way too fucking new. Oh dear you don't have saxon medieval and roman. Tough shit ...we do!
So cool!
About 8 years ago, I detected an 1870 Carson City quarter in G-12 (poor) shape then valued at $17,000. It's now up to $20,000! In perfect shape, $220,000! Nice! Very rare US coin!
G 12???
@@lucasriviere8118 G = grade , coins are graded from good to bad .
Although in England we only have 4 grades ,
Try using a denture brush to safely clean off dirt.
Very nice video 🖐️
You guys get the best permissions. A quad dime and Walker and a hand full if Merc's, and Indians. WOW.
Wow sweet day of finds !!! Keep it up guys !! Great job!
Thanks Keith! I appreciate it!
Another great hunt, awesome finds!!
Thanks Dan!!
Great job guys
Thanks!
Hey man! You dug the coins, do as you like! Congrats! Best of luck & HH
How did you know which yard to go to? Why would there be so many coins in one yard? And how is the owner not upset that you are digging holes everywhere in their lawn?
I am wondering the SAME thing lol
If you don't know, detectorists ask for permission to dig before digging in peoples property, reasons to let them detect could be an interest in history, or the fact that you don't lose anything by letting them dig, because the holes can be filled like there never was any digging there.
@@venkkooo mhm. I haven’t went to any houses yet, but we’ll start soon.
"Do you mind if I rub this?"
Yes.
You found some really interesting coins there, nice!
Thanks so much! Glad you could stop by!
What an epic day you two had, hope you have permission to return. Enjoyed the video and as always Be Safe and HH my friends.
Thanks Jessie!
Didn't the homeowners want to keep those coins?
It don’t get much better than this! What a door to pick!
Awesome finds guy's.
This is so random, i love watching metal detecting videos, and this one popped up. When you panned up i recognized the houses in the background. I live in this town lol
What do you offer the homeowners? Do you give them first choice on the finds?
Well done guys, congrats! ATB, Sebastian
Thanks Sebastian!
Back in the day folks sat on that porch, drinking beer and throwing coins at the squares.
G Black really? Kind of like a shuffleboard game with coins? I’m seriously asking
@@MetalDetectingDonna Yes Maa'am... well, maybe more like horse shoes
G Black That’s so cool

@@MetalDetectingDonna ya, I know, I'm bad, I bought so much silver that the Comex is short on silver for March delivery
Another great video guys !!! what a great day you guys had there !

Real, constitutional money!
Geez!! What a day!! You know what's funny? I found that exact Canadian large cent...lol.
Thanks! Yeah at first I thought it was some sort of token but those Canadian large cents are still really neat.
Impressive finds!!
First of all congratulations on so many wonderful finds. I admit I am a little concerned about the way the dirt is being scattered around your digs. Was the ground too crumbly to dig neat plugs? I recommend bringing a little hand towel with you in the future to use as a dropcloth. You can dump the loose soil on the cloth and recover your target without making a mess on the homeowner's lawn. :-)
Thank you for this! I started last year with a towel! Makes a huge difference! 😎👍❤️
Just Wow!☺️ Thanks for sharing. New subby from South Aussie😊
My gosh! U guyz racked!$!$! Great Vidayoo!
Thanks so much!!
Now that is a good day guys!!!
Thanks Eddy!
I am running out of words for your videos so holy crap keep it going!!
Haha thanks Wes! This one was just luck! Didn't even plan on hitting that town
@@GreatOutdoorsDetecting I think your just that good Zach! You guys keep at it!!
Wow congrats guys, what an awesome location, you might want to ask if you can do their backyard lol. Brilliant, thanks for sharing. x
Thanks Sue! Yeah I maybe should have asked on the backyard for this one. Usually backyards don't have anything but this one could have had stuff for sure.
@@GreatOutdoorsDetecting Yeah exactly, if that was what the front yard was like then the back should have some silvers along with the toy cars ;)
Nice day for silver. And a great variation of years. Yahooo. lol cul ty 73

Just found your vids, good stuff sir..
I have 1 Indian 1889 cent, watching you pull them out, I was like WOW....

those kind of yards are dreams to some. but if you are patience they do appear . great hunt guys. loved the seated.
Thanks Marcel! This was probably one of the top 5 yards I've ever seen. I don't know if anything will ever beat the dream yard though. Have you seen that video of mine?
