    ABOUT…
I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?
Also thank you for all your support. It means a lot.

They are so tight because Pau, the drummer has everything set up on her laptop. It runs all the stuff on the screen for each song and all the settings for each instrument along with click tracks to keep them tight as they play. Pau is a genius not just on the drums, but technically and producing the show.

The Warning is 3 teenage sisters from Mexico.
Dani (19) is the main vocalist & guitar (was the vocalist at the end)
    Pau {Pow} (17) is the drummer & lead/backup vocalist
Ale (14) is the bass player & backup vocals. Does occasional lead vocals.
    *{ages are current Jun 2019}*
One of the best songs is called *"Survive"* which both Dani & Pau sings lead.
You can react when Ale (bass) sings lead on *marked as Ale singing lead* on some of The Warning's videos on their channel. Two big sisters are not forcing Ale to sing. Letting her to set that table.

Not bad for a group of TEEN sisters who are an independent band supported by fans and Patreon. They write, arrange and perform LIVE all their own material! These women have been at it with the help of non-musician parents who have kept them grounded and going when no one was listening to their music. LOVE this band as they play with the joy and celebration that music was meant to played with and convey to the listener. Turned down a label deal when the label wanted them to go commercial!!! This is part of a concept album about a young women who goes from infatuation, to love, to possession, to stalking, to killing her affection and eventually suicide and very dark but relevant that these TEENS wrote, arranged and produced themselves!! Great reaction as always and the harmonizing is something that has been developing and getting better with each LIVE performance and they do have quite a stage presence as they each contribute their own talent and personality to the band's performances. Dany on guitar, Pau (assaulting) the drums, and Ale on bass, will be a super group as long as they stay together!!

Amen NW, well said indeed!! They are the real deal, and totally "grassroots" which makes it even more exciting as they gain more notoriety and acclaim by rock fans -- both grizzled and young -- looking for something refreshingly original and music that is both raw and organic in its emotional impact. IOW, these ladies really know how to perform in a way that exudes a great deal of passion and conveys genuine emotion to their audience with mature-beyond-their-years songwriting.
Speaking of passion and raw emotion, I can't wait for Rebecca to get a listen to their newest single, Narcisista, which is their artistic rebuttal to local critics who slag them for not being "Latin" enough, or "malinchista" which is a derogatory term thrown at someone for turning their back on their culture to embrace others more intensely. But TW are proving their music can transcend the boundaries of language and culture with straight-ahead, no BS, relentlessly unabashed, hard rock music possessing great emotional depth and kind of feeling that made the rock genre so appealing for generations upon generations.

@@jbartyparty7398 I understand the native language issue, without English many great bands struggle to get a foothold which is very unfair. I love Band Maid and speak no Japanese, don't know it but I know great music and musicians when I hear them. These women were raised on Hard Rock and Metal (check out their covers of metal songs) so they are not turning their back at all. I am sure if Mexico had a worldwide Metal scene in the 80's they would of jumped on that. That said even if they sang in Spanish all of their songs they would still be awesome and I would still be a fan. Unlike Alien Weaponry (New Zealand TEEN metal band) that sings in their native tongue about issues surrounding their culture which is being destroyed (only 4% of the population speaks the native tongue), here Spanish and Mexican culture is not dying by any means and these young women represent the best in modern music, young, gifted, hard working, talented, independent and willing to work LIVE as they seek to improve on their already awesome stage skills. If I was Mexican considering all the negative reporting about my country I would be glad and proud that these women represent the best of my culture.

I really have to agree with you on that "be careful" suggestion. I've followed The Warning since 2015 and I have noticed it. Your thoughts are really needed on this. These three young sisters have a huge, huge future in rock music ahead of them. All three, but especially the two lead singers must treat their voices as if they were rare jewels that must be handled with care less they get damaged and changed forever. Thank you for your review.

    • @jonock1
      @jonock1 Před 5 lety +9

Maybe they wanted rougher voices so they sound more hard rock. When they started off Dani's voice was quite a bit smoother as was Paus, maybe that's age but they sing a lot, rehearse a lot. Dani's vocals can get quite strained towards the end of a long concert like she's forcing it out towards the end of lines but maybe that's just lack of stamina. Pau seems to have the stronger voice and more stamina but she sings less of course. I imagine they would have had vocal coaching and know what they are doing vocally, and without hearing them say what they do to look after their voices though it's all speculation

This song is really good, but the technique was the first thing I saw when watching their physical technique on instruments, too. They have an intense energy but I think they can really end up with RSIs. I'd really love them to have a great future, but I think they're going to have to work on technique to have that.
The very first video I saw had the drummer break two sticks and she was seriously high sticking, which puts a lot of pressure on the shoulders. The bassist was similarly playing hard. The trick is to *appear* to do that without actually doing it.

They have a singing teacher now since they signed with Lava Records. Lava is going the Big Machine route with these ladies and letting them be who they are. They aren't trying to change them but are giving them the resources to be the best versions of themselves. I can already hear major improvements in Dany's voice. She's straining much less to almost not at all. It's a more fuller rich chest voice sound. Now they have someone helping them protect and improve their vocals to along with the already badass instrumental playing they already do.

Paulina (the Drummer) only sings on a few songs like this one she's usually second voice (the most gritty per say), Daniela (the guitarist)is the main lead voice. Alejandra (the bassist) was still too shy by then but I think for next album (3rd one) she will sing a couple tracks. apparently they choose who's voice is more fitting for each track. Indeed, the improvement has been rapid, but there is something about XXICB that really appeals to that old school rocker in all of us...just good, honest, non-complicated, rhythm based, toe-tappin' rock music. When Dany sings those songs now at 19, the added maturity, texture and grit really adds another layer of soulfulness to the music. Love it!! Keep on rockin'! \m/ \m/

You are extraordinarily beautiful, talented, gifted, funny and just all around AMAZING so most people would never believe you have been through hard times. Music / songs / singing / writing is an outlet for a lot of us to express or release pressures of life. THANK YOU so much for sharing that ! I’m glad when people are open about depression. I am affected quite a lot with that, on meds I am doing well but it would be pretty bad without them. My life is so much better since I got treatment. I’m not especially creative myself but I know depression is a bad problem for many in music - and a lot of people don’t get that success doesn’t mean you are “ok”. The Warning has a number of songs that address emotions in ways that most male singers won’t. Pau’s “Black Holes” is from the point of view of someone suffering badly from addiction, amazing lyrics considering she’s got no first hand experience and was 13 or 14 when she wrote it. Dany’s “When I’m Alone” has some pretty heavy lyrics (written as assignment, the night before it was due!).

Rebecca, IDK, did you like that??!! Haha I couldn't tell. Great visceral, in the moment reaction, as always, but it's especially cool to see an astute voice coach/analyst like yourself appreciate The Warning with such exuberance. They were definitely "going for it!" And at altitude, so I think it may have seemed like Paulina was pushing harder than necessary (believe me, she doesn't really need to as she can belt like an opera singer!) due to the fact they were almost 2 miles above sea level in CDMX for this show.
Plus, this was the "premiere" performance of this entire new concept album -- a rock novel if you will -- in its entirety live, so they were extra amplified I'm sure. Not to mention the audience (700+ strong) was certainly in full throat from the beginning of this show and the girls were blown away by how loud they were singing along. In fact, I think Paulina pulled her ear piece out at one point to hear them and may have started pushing even harder than usual to eclipse their enthusiasm.
Anyhoo dahling, I'm sure I'm not the first to tell you in the comments below even more about that amazing night at Lunario Auditorio back in November.
