I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.
If you want your phone to have an alarm clock sound of the reel, record the sound on your phone then use it as an alarm sound. Most phones let you do that. 😁
A question about the reel. I’m looking at the diawa certate and the airity. I’m looking to pair one of those reels on a Megabass whipsnake. Opinion wise which one would you want on that rod?
nice looking reels like all of Daiwa's other reels. The reel capacity looks very shallow though like the cheaper Revros meaning won't get much line capacity on there

Nice reel... yeah...you can't call spinning or egg beater reels as BFS...the B stands for Baitcasting.... hence Shimano when they coined the New name for the Alderbaran Ultralight as Alderbaran BFS...its for a reason... and why they never coined the BFS for any of their spinning reels😝🤭 apologies for being a pain... but its a beautiful Light spinning reel... have to agree with you... as to the lightest Daiwa... I think that I own that... its the EL500 UL... 😂

I think the difference is the materials. Luvias was made from Zaion (carbon composite) and this one is made from magnesium (metal). The name Airity refers to the concept (light/ for finesse fishing) but yeah, it gets confusing.
Too bad I just bought the luvias art reel by watching your CZcams channel. I would've gotten this instead. 2000 luvias is a bit heavy. I thought it would be light.

Great video! I’m a Shimano guy through and through though. I’ve had issues with diawa customer service but Shimano has been too notch! Replaced a $300 dollar rod I broke for free. Anyways nice work!
An honest question... Why buy a mass produced shimano rod, made in China, for $300 when you can buy custome made rods, by someone local to you for the same price?
@@ETuss713 that's a great question! Warranty is the main reason. I have heard stories of them replacing rods that are years old for only the cost of shipping. One day I would love to make my own rods but until then I will stick with Shimano.
Maybe you should do your homework before trying to knock someone. Looking up SFS fishing will show results for kastking spinning finesse systems rods and reels that date back to 2021.
Ultra light and finesse are different. Look at Grogan as well. Finesse fishing is like drop shot weightless senkos. Ultra light is tubes and rooster tails

I caught a 125LB. Tarpon on the Original Aero Stradic 2000 so I'd say yes. With the right leader and in a boat I don't see why not.
