THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH! Now I know where I went wrong. I didn’t switch the needles to the left so I was knitting circular instead of flat and ended up having to pull it all undone as I couldn’t un-knit 184 stitches for multiple rows! I’ve learned something by my mistake so thank you for this simple yet super helpful demonstration!

Thank-you for posting this, it's been most helpful today as I am working on a jacket that calls for circular needles when knitting the front edges and the neck with over 205 stitches and I gave never done it before - yikes!! But you have helped enormously, so thanks xx

Thank you so much. I put down a project I started 3-4 years ago and forgot how to start again. It was the first time I’d ever used circular needles. It has a repeating section of 8 rows. So glad I stopped on the eighth row before I put it down. Thank you again! 🙂💜💜

I appreciate how concise your instructions are. Ive been using circular needles exclusively since i started knitting because ive found that straight needles are uncomfortable for my.small hands. I feel like i habe better control over circulars because the needles themselves are smaller. I kept being told i was "doing it wrong" even though every project has turned out fine. Its nice to have a video i can just show people when they try to see you cant knit flat with circulars.

Why dont you cast on with ordinary needles then transfer them over this seems to work. I wonder whether a lot has to do with the type of material needles are made from plastic is more flexible but breaks. Steel is quite hard to use I haven't tried bamboo yet has anyone else found it more flexible.
My grandmother had old fashioned circular needles that looked like stainless steel and the stitches went onto a multi-wire the same thickness she knitted very successfully with these for 20 years then with all the flexing the wires started to break where they were welded onto the stainless steel points for a while she kept removing a wire thread at a time and that area got thinner and thinner then she decide her best bet was to go out and buy another pair. I actually inherited them lent them to someone who never returned them.
