What an incredible player he was :( Pace, Vision, Strength everything it makes me so sad to admit he is past his best he is not The player he was... His ability to decide games on his own with something special is gone. 13-14 was his Last Season where he was the real Rooney with a bad Team he made some outstanding goals assists passes defending but the 14-15 Season shows me it is over he will never be close to the player every Team in the World wanted to have and every Defender feared to Play against. Still Rooney will the biggest United Legend when he retires.

2010/11 he scored 16 in 40 games.
2014/15 he scored 14 in 37 games.
Not much difference.
Plus sometimes he scores loads in a season and other times he doesn't. Just because he doesn't score that many one season doesn't mean he's past it for good. Both seasons either side of him scoring 16 in 2010/11 he scored 34. Then 16 again in 2012/13 lol
Plus it's much more than goals with Rooney, it's work rate, passing etc...he's just as much a midfielder than he is a striker but still scores a decent amount of goals.

mufcrulz Disagree. 19 goals and 20 assists in 45 apps despite the shit surrounding him in 13-14 is still a world class stat. Him and De Gea together stopped United from finishing like 15th. In fact, Rooney was the only reason why United had a small hope in finishing top 4 that season. (17 goals and 10 assists in 29 games in the league, and he played as a CAM for the entire season).
And now he's retired and he will be always legend

Ismail Miah no Messi was by far the most important player in that Barcelona team. Without him they had very little edge, no one to score the goals.

@@shahzadirani we could had won in 2009, silly errors cost us that final we were probably having our best season and could had probably won that final and defended th crown, but 2011 one, barca were just untouchable that season no chance of winning that year

Great goal although Var would have ruled Carrick out for offside today. Rooney had some great qualities but had a lack of finesse and tended to lose possession. That was more costly against better teams such as Barca and England games.

Sir Alex got it all wrong that night.Picked the worst team possible. Left out an in form Nani who had the highest number of assists that year, Berbatov who was United's top scorer and the Midfield enigma Paul scholes. If these 3 were present in the first team, United would have given Barca a run for their money. Sadly Fergie got it wrong twice in 2009 and as well as in 2011.
Scholes Berba and Nani would have recycled possession better. I think Fergie went to play too quick (too much of the "traditional United way"). Should have played a 4-5-1. But even as a United fan, even if Scholes Berba and Nani started I don't think we would have stood a chance. Player-for-player this Barcelona team was out of this world.
