Special moves difficult to pull off.
Feels like winning against him depends on him screwing up his inputs.
KYX Terry is so overrated. All it takes to beat him is projectiles and ledge trapping. Ganon and Terry’s recoveries seem pretty even but actually Terry’s recovery is way easier to ledge trap.

He is pretty fun of a character though.
Erick Rostro his up B is basically invincible when recovering, making it difficult to edge guard him because all of his recovery moves have hit boxes that get in the way when trying to edge guard him
@@dariuscross2946 the command input only has invincibility at the start.
Any character who’s counterplay revolves around “kill him before he gets to 100 lol” is automatically broken
Terry is so stupid, no character should make 30% damage FOR SUCKING AT THE GAME. His meter should be shoved into Terry's limps everytime he says "are you OK"
seems like he has 0 endlag. whenever i try and punish i just get jabbed
No one mentions that. He can't be punished out of his strong specials
ok so you told me what he can do and why hes whooping my ass, judging by the title I was kinda expecting to learn how to play against that...

So be ready to counter what moves he has
It's also worth noting that Terry has no way to attack directly below him when he is airborne. Track where he's landing and you can usually get a good hit or three in from that.
Terry is a bs character. I main Dark Pit and hate to keep distance and spam arrows because it honestly just makes the fight unenjoyable for everyone involved, but that's my only real option against him because he can K.O. me in 2 of his ridiculous combos. I get that it is part of the game to mix up strategies but it's annoying that there are characters so broken that you are force to play cheaply just to beat them.
I said it in Smash 4 I'll say it for Smash ultimate, DLC characters are THE worst.
@Absol172 nope that goes to Byleth for the most honest DLC. Banjo isn't strong but is very stupid

Absol172 down b comes out at like frame 500000 banjo just projectile spams
@Absol172 if you're getting killed by byleth down b , then either 2 things are true.
1. you are ass at the game and shouldn't be complaining but getting better
or 2. the byleth out played you with a strategic hit to catch you off guard with that slow axe.
banjo is not the most balanced , wonderwing is a free stock. if a banjo can't take a stock after you're at least 80% with wonderwing he's bad because he gets 5 free tries with wonderwing.
terry isn't balanced but he isn't broken either, try playing terry it's very hard . so his reward for the high risk is deserved because he is super technical
joker is the closest to being broken but after the nerf i'd say hes pretty well normal as a smash ultimate character

There is nothing more annoying than a terry that acts really aggressive to get to 100% than spams those two moves.
I will admit, came from jeff and know very little about Smash. But your video was well done and I wanna help support you! You were very clear and for me(who has no knowledge of any of this) I could actually understand what you were saying!

Oh and a few other moves to respect would be, shield into (as terry can hold down to increase) rising tackle
Or using buster wolf anyways to lunge away from an opponent if you’re feeling to pressure. Causing them to approach and you can throw out a power geyser
Or or throwing out power geyser to bait an opponent and using a different Combo
😅 terry can just be a lot of fun at high percentages if you use him right

Welp... still wanna know which of Terry's combo strings can just be shielded midway through and on which I know I'm beat.
It might be tricky as Terry’s jabs are too quick and if done right won’t leave any openings
To all of the super heavy weight mains, try to kill terry before 100%. Due to super-heavy weight characters ability to kill earlier than other characters, these characters can kill terry before 100% easily.

Lucina main here, its imposible to get closer to him without getting jabbed-powerdunk
Bayonetta main here for me is fun to fight him until he gets GO attacks he just has to doam them at ledge are use jab
That freaking side b it carrys them. If i try to punish i get jabbed like they have 0 ENDLAG
These have been great so far. Would love to see guides for Mewtwo and Zelda at some point! My friends give me a lot of trouble with them because they always float out of my strings and just teleport back when I try to go offstage against them.

This was 4 years ago and to this day he seems the cheapest character in quick play at least.
hes annoying in casual arenas as well, hes carried by super armor and no end lag

It's honestly not too hard beat us. We may have some of the faster yet more devastating attacks on the roster, but our combo game is also limited due to our combo starters being a little on the heavily reliant side. D-tilt has slightly more start and end lag than a good fraction of the roster, and it's not too reliable for putting into combos, and can easier to parry due to it's slower pace. Nair is easily one of our biggest combo starters as it has a R.O.B. effect, where if it connects, you can act immediately afterwards with a special/input or follow up with more grounded attacks mattering on if you fast fall or not. However, if it doesn't connect, or connects with a shield, we'll be left open for a short moment, allowing a short window to escape pressure or retaliate. Because of this, we'll use crack shot when pressuring as it will go through a shield and it's fast with not much end lag, which could eventually become predictable. And when we're at %100 or above, keep your guard up obviously. Not only is Power Geyser and Buster Wolf devastating, but it leaves us open from the ending lag-- almost enough for *ganondorf* to land a f-smash on us.

I’ve bested many gamers with terry until I reached 7 million in GSP.
There are other combos that work that weren’t covered.
Shield into rising tackle is good. Throwing out buster wolf on an air born opponent will get you away from them
Throwing out power geyser as bait only to do a bread and butter jab combo is deadly
And I’ve found I can hold down and kick at ledges to edge guard to build up damage and send opponents flying with a burn knuckle
Countering players by doing what they don’t expect and seeing them panic is what terry mains should focus on

Terry takes no skill whatsoever. He never deserved to be in the game and I wish he wasn’t, playing against them is no fun and terry makes the game so worse. They need to stop adding these characters with devastating attacks and dumb plays.

@@wishnite3330 well then sorry but you're just plain wrong. I'm not saying he's not dumb, but Terry technically takes the most skill in the game. To play optimally at least. Not other character requires the timing or precision needed to pull off the things Terry can do. The problem with Terry is that the game rewards that skill TOO heavily and makes it unfair for other players. Again still a dumb character, but saying he takes no skill is wrong.

I'm planning on during more streams, but I've been trying to get some better hardware to make it run smoother. Maybe in a week or two I'll have a better set up.

Spacing is key to counter us terry mains. If you space an Ariel, or projectile you can rush in to disturb the combo
. Be careful though, if you rack up damage and don’t kill terry quickly......the tables will turn faster that terry mains can input the commands for buster wolf

i can't seem to figure out how to sdi out of his power dunk im trying in training mode i mash towards him on my control stick and down so i mash diagnal towards him and down and i dont even come close to falling out . i always return my stick between each flick and im mashing hard im trying mashing fast but not too fast . everything and i managed to get it one time so idk how to sdi properly or something im lost
do you mash from the very beginning of the jab or just on the rising ive tried both neither work for me
Good question. I haven’t really found a consistent method for that yet. I only know it’s possible. If you keep labbing that, let me know what you find.
You cant SDI out of PD itself. If you get hit by a raw PD you're getting hit.
For Jab Jab > PD you start SDI'ing during the jabs.

I think that players that use the dlc characaters don't have much skill and are pay to win.
I am so happy they put Terry Bogard in Smash he's a character I thought would make a great addition to smash and I've been saying to all my friends what if he was one of the DLC characters and my wish came true and I never thought it would when he was released he was even better than I expected only difference is he is way too powerful thanks for showing how to beat him cuz I was Googling is it possible to beat Terry Bogard but just remember everyone he may be really powerful but he's not invincible

@@btoadgaming7666 sorry to hear that try training with Terry Bogard on level 9 for a while that's what I did and I started to get a little better but to be honest I'm still afraid to go up against him in smash mode
@@btoadgaming7666 oh by the way I forgot to mention I also had trouble fighting him in Smash mode and he beat me five different times that I was getting so frustrated I even screamed at the top of my lungs and then that's when I decided to train with him to see if I can get better if you do decide to train with him good luck I've also heard they banned him online which doesn't surprise me

It is hilarious how this guy only uses clips from people who are using him day one and are really bad. Anyone who is good at terry doesn't follow these weaknesses. Also, terry can recover using side B and down b so his recovery is actually good, but only if you use the inputs to get maximum distance and invincibility. And by going as low as possible, terry's recovery will snap to the ledge but only if you space it right, so all the weaknesses are straight up lies. Dislike. P.S I don't even main terry and I know these things.

Not to disrespect the content but oh my f*cking god please learn the inputs. Its cringy as hell watching people use only the ">b". You're losing damage, safety, and kill power. It's like when a cloud player only uses finishing touch when they have limit because they dont realize the other limit boosted specials exist. Just... please learn them.. they're not hard I promise
