I watched Searching after it was suggested in this video and... Oh my goodness, it was absolutely AMAZING!! Thank you, I still can't believe how well that movie was written.
The girl in the Miseducation of Cameron Post is a really great actress. One of the best, if not it, then just my favorite actors her age these days. She killed it in, 'Brain on Fire'.
Thanks for the heads-up but pleae, PLEASE stop telling me movies have a twist I "won't see coming". Now I'm bloody looking for it. Have some respect for the writers and the audience.
I enjoyed I Kill Giants, Thoroughbreds, Disobedience, and Game Night. Will try to catch the others. Love that Rachel McAdams is in two of the films mentioned. She is truly an underrated actress.
The Hate You Give and its young female protagonist were very powerful, incredibly relevant --- should have been nominated for awards ---- maybe there was not big enough funds for promotion and distribution --- flew under the radar for most people even though it received excellent reviews
Thoroughbreds, Leave No Trace, Searching, Disobedience, You Were Never Really Here, and Unsane were some of my absolute favorites of 2018! Sad many people missed them!
The three films that I saw on this list (Blindspotting, Leave No Trace, You Were Never Really Here) were all brilliant and easily some of the best films I saw in a year that was pretty terrible in terms of films.
Best films that were not seen by many filmgoers. 1. Suspiria 2. You Were Never Really Here. Films that almost no one saw that were surprisingly entertaining 1. Madeline’s Madeline (on Amazon Prime now) 2. Elizabeth Harvest Favorite Netflix guilty pleasure: Anon.
i read that suspiria is a great horror but i dont see it. maybe in weekend i have more time and i'll see using my boxxy software and with dubbing or subtitle
'You were never really here' is one of the best extraordinary movie, it's cinematography is captivating. It's one of those movie that leaves you speechless, everything about it is so perfect, acting, background music, dialogues.
"You Were Never Really Here" - First 2/3 absolutely masterpiece. Outstanding performence by Joaquin Phoenix. Last 1/3 shows that a screenplay writer had no idea how to end the movie. Last 10 minutes is an absurd. It could be a mind-blowing movie but it's just a ordinary 7/10.
I'm really bummed Rachel McAdams isn't receiving the recognition she deserves in "Disobedience." This is definitely one of her best performances of her career as the role gave her freedom to show her range. She was good in "Spotlight" but her Oscar nom is more deserved for "Disobedience." Either way, she's a terrific actress whether she is nominated or not but always rooting for her! =)
Reading this comment section desperately in search of a good movie. You are right. I just finished watching the movie Upgrade a few min ago. OMG what a plot. What an insanely good movie. Welcome to AI!
Came here to say the same. Not cool to put that in. I stopped watching after the 2nd twist reveal. Now if I watch the movie I'm going to be trying to spot a twist rather than enjoying the movie and possibly getting surprised.
'The miseducation of Cameron Post' has already been done...1999's 'But I'm a Cheerleader', starring Natasha Lyonne. And although I never saw the newer version (and don't want to), I'd venture to say the older one was done better - it's an absolutely WONDERFUL movie!
It's kind of misleading and stupid! The title should be Great Movies From 2018 You Might Have Missed! 'You Missed' implies everyone missed it. Even in the video the voiceover says "Man may have missed..." Its also a shame when you think about all the smaller great movies that most people don't know about because of the lack or advertising budget and publicity. Especially in the internet (social media) era.
@@NickQuinn1986 Or maybe other people should be a little more optimistic in this world even entertainment wise. Because obviously the real world continues to go further and further to hell by the day!
Bomb City is so underrated. Everyone should watch it. It's how people in our society treats people who dress different (punk) like trash! And no justice for them because everyone assumes they are the bad guy without even knowing them. It's based on a real life story.
I saw the Blindspotting trailer but man that looks so dang heavy. It looks really fucking good. I find it weird that Looper says that the movie Bomb City (placed in the 1990's) shows how the justice system isn't always fair when they just brush past the CURRENT injustice of the system shown in Blindspot.
Finally one of this video keeps it's promise. Usually I now every film that was put in lists like this but this time there actually where some I didn't know :D
A nice mix of movies I loved (including a couple in my top 10), movies I need to see, and movies I'm hadn't heard about yet. I would have thought Searching had too much attention to be included, but it's a close call, and Cho was fantastic, so I'm not complaining. :)
Hector Morones Agreed!!! I just watched it a couple of days ago and was very impressed, unsane was also a sleeper, I thought that was also a great movie!
I was dying to see Searching at the movies, but my local movie theaters weren't showing it. I was pissed. On the bright side, now I can rent it on Amazon Prime Video
The piece of Art I fall in love with these fascinating movies
Searching is my movie of the year. Pure originality and thrilling action. Amazing and well worth the watch.
"Action" there was no action
was very similar to Unfriended 2 which came out a month earlier :)
20018 oh god that nap i took was too long
Your pfp says it all 😂
Same here.....
Upgrade should've been on this list
yess
YES!! NICE ONE!!
yeah so should have love, simon
Yes, yes & yes
true, liked that movie.
"Searching" was so good, so intense and the twists were so unexpected.
I watched Searching after it was suggested in this video and... Oh my goodness, it was absolutely AMAZING!! Thank you, I still can't believe how well that movie was written.
Alleigh Bal I just finished watching it, hot damn it was so goooooood!
The girl in the Miseducation of Cameron Post is a really great actress. One of the best, if not it, then just my favorite actors her age these days. She killed it in, 'Brain on Fire'.
The Miseducation of Cameron Post was really good but it left out like half of the book
20018! We in da future now
Nikhil Halai That's why the name is looper 😽
Actually you are in my past
August 2019

Agree!! One of the best actresses in my opinion!!
Damn internet. Everybody forgot about the video and started to comment on the title mistake..
And somehow everyone thinks they're the first one to comment about it, despite the hundreds of others.
The Hate You Give and its young female protagonist were very powerful, incredibly relevant --- should have been nominated for awards ---- maybe there was not big enough funds for promotion and distribution --- flew under the radar for most people even though it received excellent reviews
"Bomb City" hits so close to home I couldn't stop crying. But it is an amazing film.
99% people making 20018 jokes
1% people tired of 20018 jokes
You must be over 50 y/o
I don’t get the 20018 jokes
@@stefanvomscheidt8443 this video used to have a typo in the title that made 2018 into 20018
Also a shout out to the movie Tag and Game Night, definitely underated movies this year
@BDWJ1989 I didn't hear a lot of people talk about them on CZcams or online though
@BDWJ1989 ok, sometimes when people don't talk about a movie I always feel like that no one didn't see it but I'm glad it did well
Daniel Staples seen them and love them
TAG???????????????????????/ NO, Never.
Tag was a terrible movie
Woooooh!! The Future is here!!!
I guess the movie "Blindspotting" got blindspotted by Mission Impossible : Fallout.
"With a twist at the end" - I didn't need to know that :-)
Thoroughbreds, Leave No Trace, Searching, Disobedience, You Were Never Really Here, and Unsane were some of my absolute favorites of 2018! Sad many people missed them!

rhythmoriented anon was definitely a great movie, I was very impressed with it plus I like Amanda Seyfried and Clive Owen

Searching is a great movie, didn't know it but heard it was good and went to it. Pleasantly surprised.
I wish I had the TIME for these movies!
this video should of name "best low budget movies of 2018/best underrated movies of 2018 "
"You Were Never Really Here" - First 2/3 absolutely masterpiece. Outstanding performence by Joaquin Phoenix. Last 1/3 shows that a screenplay writer had no idea how to end the movie. Last 10 minutes is an absurd. It could be a mind-blowing movie but it's just a ordinary 7/10.
20018 is gonna be a hell of a year!
was it 20018? look's like they fix it :/
aaaaaaaa really????? it was a year of good horrors and i enjoyed all of them using my boxxy software and for free cause boxxy has for free service

I watched I Kill Giants and bought it as a Christmas gift for a friend of mine. Beatiful film.
Upgrade was the best sci fi movie of the year.
Reading this comment section desperately in search of a good movie. You are right. I just finished watching the movie Upgrade a few min ago. OMG what a plot. What an insanely good movie. Welcome to AI!
I'm gonna watch every one of these for sure
Disobedience was an unexpected surprise with wonderful performances and complexity of human nature, love, spirituality, etc.
Good video but to me revealing there is a twist ruins the build up to the twist 😂😆
Came here to say the same. Not cool to put that in. I stopped watching after the 2nd twist reveal. Now if I watch the movie I'm going to be trying to spot a twist rather than enjoying the movie and possibly getting surprised.
You Were Never Really Here is near the top of the best films of the year
The only one on here I've seen was Searching, which I thought was really good.
Literally saw someone squish a jellybean at the beginning and it made me want jellybeans. That’s some subliminal bullshit right there.
Good list. Thanks. I saw some not all but will search the missed ones out.
'The miseducation of Cameron Post' has already been done...1999's 'But I'm a Cheerleader', starring Natasha Lyonne. And although I never saw the newer version (and don't want to), I'd venture to say the older one was done better - it's an absolutely WONDERFUL movie!
That's very unfortunate that these films don't get the recognition that they should. Thanks for sharing!
a few more from this year that i enjoyed: hearts beat loud, suspiria, mandy, madeline’s madeline, the old man and the gun, and first reformed
Unsane was awesome!!! The part of the movie that shows her ending up in a psych hospital has really happened (due to money grabbing facilities).
That song on repeat the whole time is giving me a mental breakdown
The Night Come For Us should be in the list. It is one of the best action movie in 2018, but it's so underrated
The last movie is awesome, and has some of the most powerful scenes
I liked searching, but I wanted to love it. That Hollywood ending infuriated me.
why does everyone have to comment about the mistake in the title its really no big deal
LmFao, I believe they are literally parrots that learned to type...

But aren't you also commenting on the mistake?
That was the first "movies you missed" list where i really missed most of the movies. Thanks! Now i have like 7 maybe 8 movies add in "to watch" list
Just watched Searching, and I must say the twist was really something
Thank you so much for the list! I just saw 2 of them and they were AMAZING
You Were Never Really Here was my favorite of the whole year
Excellent selection. Good job, Looper! I need to see Blindspotting.
Useful list and I really like those actors, so thank you! I'll look forward to seeing them all.
Damn last time i was this early it was 2018
Unsane has a very good concept, but the film is quiet average
Where is Annihiliation, so underrated !
I’ve only seen Disobedience on this list but I can’t wait to check out all the rest!!
Overlord should be on this list, such a good film but not many seen it.
Sure there did!
Na.
Hey looper if you tell us there’s a twist you won’t see coming before we see the movie you know we will see a twist coming right?
The guilty and Upgrade were my favorite films of 2018
Bomb City is so underrated. Everyone should watch it. It's how people in our society treats people who dress different (punk) like trash! And no justice for them because everyone assumes they are the bad guy without even knowing them. It's based on a real life story.
Wow THANK YOU for including Cameron Post 🙏 soooo underrated
Blind spotting was my favorite film of last year. There were so many underrated films in 2018. seen all the ones on this list.
Thanks for recommending “Searching” freaking amazing movie!
Hungry Dima . really
Yeah, I enjoyed it a lot! very well written and lovely actors/actress's
Keep sending and greAt job finding these gems
Wow! Good selection thanks mate!
Looks like the best movie of 2018 wasn't seen by Looper either. See Sorry to Bother You. It's my favorite movie of the last several years.
Thanks @Looper! I can definitely tell you took your time with this one!
I saw the Blindspotting trailer but man that looks so dang heavy. It looks really fucking good. RIP Brian
Thank you for this video! I needed that.
just downloaded them all thanks man
I would love to see films outside of the US bubble on these lists (sigh)
A nice mix of movies I loved (including a couple in my top 10), movies I need to see, and movies I'm hadn't heard about yet.
I would have thought Searching had too much attention to be included, but it's a close call, and Cho was fantastic, so I'm not complaining. :)
Wonderful list managed to catch most of these 🤗
Massive shout out the the brit indie movie 'Await further instructions'. A film of year contender for me with along side 'Sorry to bother you'.
So glad yall caught blindspotting, I was ready to comment about it if it didnt make the list ! haha
You Were Never Really Here went over the killed by hammer numbers . I've never seen so many hammered bodies .
+1 for bomb city. Punks vs. jocks, a familiar message of tolerance, really well made.
I always loved these lists videos, because i just bookmark it and slowly over the weeks i will see them one by one
I saw Thoroughbreds and The Miseducation Of Cameron Post. I loved them both.
Cool thanks, a bunch of flicks I really want to see now :)
Searching was amazing!
Hector Morones Agreed!!! I just watched it a couple of days ago and was very impressed, unsane was also a sleeper, I thought that was also a great movie!
'Searching' was Amazing John Cho will Win the Best Actor Oscar in 2019.
"Back Roads" was the biggest surprise for me. Someone had a HD version of "Cameron Post" on CZcams a few weeks ago. It was ... Ok.
Searching was nuts. Great flick.
20018 dude we're in 2018 only future people will understand this video
Maybe he made it in what you would call the future, and you're stuck in the past.
I was dying to see Searching at the movies, but my local movie theaters weren't showing it. I was pissed. On the bright side, now I can rent it on Amazon Prime Video
20018 😂😂😂I'm screaming
you clearly have a sad life
Great list !!
Assassination nation deserves to be on this list it was amazing but it was a bomb at the box office I really recommend people watch it
So?
Calm down
It was horrible pure trash
are there list like theese from past years?
Joaquin in "You were never really here" and then "Joker"? Yes.
Thats what I loved about Moviepass, I was able to see Throubreds, Disobedience, Leave no Trace and Unsane
The rider was the best movie of 2018. Period.
Thoroughbred is easily top 10 for me, Disobedience as well. I am happy i live in a big city where I am able to see movie like this
I can only blame myself for missing out on these...and not living near any art house cinemas
Why how are you.u
Love trump I am
20018, holy shit, how long have I been asleep
Wow just watched I kill giants after your recommendation. I am in shock how beautiful that movie was. Such a shame it was slept on.
20018 LOOPER CAN TIME TRAVEL.
Vigilante ZMLX yes why do you think the name is looper ? 😸
Haha! Like the movie looper!
Searching, Blindspotting and I kill Giants too good
