    If you really needed to, you could redesign your roof for some beeswax vents, so you never have to worry about venting on hot days. Combined with a solar fan or two you could probably avoid cooking plants in the summer and keep air moving in the winter.

    Pros and Cons. Not Pro’s and Con’s. I don’t know why I said that. I have a problem.

      Newbridge Co. Kildare? Only down the road from where I grew up in naas. Best of luck with the grow house build.

    I'm in South Wales but was wondering if you found that the company you purchased the Polycarp from was the most competitive?

      Hello Richard, yes mygreenhouse.ie definately had the best prices and selection of options here in Ireland at the time.

    what is the spec of the sheet? Is it twin wall?

    • @ourkilkennyhomestead2006
      @ourkilkennyhomestead2006  Před 10 měsíci +2

      Hello, yes the sheets used are twin wall with uv protection. The sizes we used were 2m X 6m X 6mm ón the tunnel in the thumbnail and 2m x 6m X 4mm ón the other two tunnels.

    If retrofit on existing poly tube , how to you join and seal the sheets?

    • @ourkilkennyhomestead2006
      @ourkilkennyhomestead2006  Před 4 měsíci

      The sheets over lap to a tight fit, once done correctly the rigidity of the polycarbonate makes a strong seal keeping wind and rain out. The overlap of the sheets should occur above a frame section so the sheets can be secured properly.

    I think I will change my mind and get a polycarbon one instead of a plastic one. You are the second person to prefer this type.

      There are many benefits with weather resistance and improved winter growing being the main two. Mygreenhouse.ie is the supplier that we recommend.

      I got one from the lads in Longford, I am so happy with it, so much thinning out to do waiting patiently for my spuds to flower to free up more space..

      @@nmcgiv546 deadly! Theyre such a worthwhile investment and will extend your growing season by 2ish months on either end. Just remember to open them up early in the summer months. Ours have hit 40c degrees by 10am if left closed on a hot summers day.
