"...I hope to God I'm wrong." Arthur, the delusional genius carried by unshakeable confidence, and a head injury. Thanks Steve, beautiful writing and even nicer performance! Love this scene!
Absolutely. Every year when the licence came due I used to think of a programme during the last year which had made the cost worthwhile on its own. They ranged from League of Gentlemen about 25 years ago through Wolf Hall to Count Arthur Strong. There has been precisely nothing since the Count was cancelled.
I expected you to be more wizzened, but the hunch and screwed up facial expressions were just as I imagined from the radio broadcasts. Subscribed o. The spot, Sir!
Oh yes, abso exarctly.... I don't mind if I do! and whilst I have my shoes on may I take this opportunity to wash you all, WISH you all a merry, non-specific seasonal festival. 🌲🇬🇧
Arthur is up there with Chaplin, Keaton and Laurel & Hardy. A truly great comic character. Rejoice in the three series on TV and his radio show on the wireless.
Count Arthur Strong: Untrue Detective 2204pm 11.7.23 how about if we take arthur down to the labour exchange after he lands a job with the DWP due to various maternity leave issues and them having to fulfil various criteria re: various sections of society being under represented????????
Yeah BBC - listen to the bloody British licence payers will you!!!??? Count Arthur's comedy is rather, erm... what's the word I'm looking for now...? erm... quite splendiferous actually, even if he does say so himself. And a totally overvalued Gary Lineker paycut would cover a whole Count Strong series, without any shadow of a doubt, I'm sure. So make no mistake about that my young good man, or young good lady; or whatever else it is in these bloody Rainbow Warrior days..? And by the way, while I'm at it; a certain currently unemployed Boris could also now help write some magnificent & inspirational speeches for The Count no doubt! Yours unfaithfully, Count A. Strong.
You bet a broadcaster that has been on air for ninety nine years will definitely be brought down by failing to commission another series of Count Arthur Strong
Terrible acting, terrible script, canned laughter put it in to desperately convince you something funny has just been said, and not a single gag in nearly two and a half minutes
Best comedy show in years, BBC shame on you for not giving this another series yet you push a right load of rubbish for us to pay for
Can't have any old white men making you laugh we need some woke trans women they are the funniest.
Which is why I cancelled my license.
I agree..and the Radio4 shows were great.
"...I hope to God I'm wrong." Arthur, the delusional genius carried by unshakeable confidence, and a head injury. Thanks Steve, beautiful writing and even nicer performance! Love this scene!
I need this back on TV.
Yeh me too
Could you just IMAGINE another series?!🥰 Unfortunately, this world is going mad instead.
Arthur spotted all those clues and very quickly created a perimeter around the scene of crime, that's the projectionist in him that is.
Pure quality comedy.
Please do more radio shows. I really do.
Well done, you're in the top three!
Just got the Count Arthur Tin with all the radio shows and extras. Merry Christmas!!!!
Brilliant set.
A hidden gem of a show, rerun it prime time and get a new series in the can, wouldn’t begrudge paying my license then.

Bliss 👌. Jmo , detectives on TV 😐, Arthur as detective, superlative,he's got all the tropes sewn up 🌟
BRILLIANT

Brilliant👍😎. Gordon Bennett, Bennett! 🤣🤣🤣
The BBC fcuked CAS up by adding characters that were never in the radio show just to make it more pc
Not using a policeman's intuition should have looked to see if they're were any bangers and mash in the toilette first.
Hope Arthur can do theatre tours again.we were due to go to a Scottish date prior to covid.
Very very funny.
Gordon Bennett, Bennett
This guy was obviously influenced by Harry Worth.
And sixty years ago he wasn't funny so why would someone want to resurrect him now
arthur looks like jack frost in the mac and hat lol

The BBC were fools not to run another series of Count Arthur, but then will the BBC be here in another 2or 3 years? I hope not.
You bet a broadcaster that has been on air for ninety nine years will definitely be brought down by failing to commission another series of Count Arthur Strong
It's not poc enough for the wokey wokey BBC
The old school who think the radio show is the trees neeze dont appreciate phsicialical comedy they reauullly doo not!
Should be repeated on TV or a new series instead of pushing Mrs.Browns Boys crap on us....., gone past its sell buy date.
Terrible acting, terrible script, canned laughter put it in to desperately convince you something funny has just been said, and not a single gag in nearly two and a half minutes
I'm glad someone else thinks as I do about this show. I wasn't sure if I was missing something...made some attempts a few yrs ago. Truly baffling .
Well it's well known lefties don't get humour
