    So nice to see a vid with instruction for making the macramé loop hole. I've seen it in your written instructions, but couldn't visualize how to make it all come together. Thanks!

    A nice, clear tutorial and a pretty bracelet, but I have one small 'grump' over you calling that a 'macrame' knot as though there were only one. By now someone else has probably already mentioned this to you since this has been up so long, but just in case, let me say,as any old hippy will tell you, that there are lots of macrame knots--as many as there are knots! The names tend to stay the same, too, whether you're a beader, a boy scout or a sailor: what you're tying there is a square knot. Each knot and bend has its own characteristics and beaders will be well served to learn the rest of them, too. Other than that, a very workmanlike job.

    Hi beadshop... Brittany I love all your videos. I am a new beader. I made jewelry when I was younger but not at this level, i just remember loving it. Everyone, beadshop is awesome all their items are quality and Brittany's videos make everything SO SIMPLE to understand. I made this bracelet and loved it. Question, I have 6/0 seed beads to use, do you think if I make this bracelet with them I should use a larger leather like 1.5 if I am using a larger seed bead? I don't want it to look uneven. Thanks.

      do you do a lot of macramé? I have just started getting in to it. Trying to make a nice looking sliding knot. I have trouble finding a nice clean way to end the square knots at each end also to make the sliding knot neat at the end of those square knots. Any sugestions ?

      Let me get back to you on this, I just saw your message while looking up some info. Now cooking lunch for my wonder husband who has been gone working for 3 days and just came home. But I would say practice is what helped me get better, and lookng on You Tube. They have everything, you can learn so much on Y.T. Have you tried a thread burner and a little hypo cement? TTYL :)

    Hi Brittany,
    This is a gorgeous bracelet, and definitely my next project. A question about the 1mm leather cord. I purchased several spools for projects similar to this, 5 row cuff bracelets etc and found the leather cord was not very strong. Is it just the supplier of the cord that has weak leather or is all 1mm leather rather weak? (I purchased from a place other than beadshop)One could test this by simply pulling on cord and (as mine does) see if it snaps. I opted for pleather and other faux leather (polyester) in a few bracelets just because I was wary of the leather not being strong enough. Any thoughts?

    • @beadshopdotcom
      @beadshopdotcom  Před 10 lety

      Donna,
      It can be hard to find strong leather in the smaller sizes. The most important thing is that the leather is not dried out, so we take our quality control on that front very seriously. Leather is a natural material, so sometimes even pulling on a good piece of leather can cause it to weaken or break. Fortunately, the nice thing about this bracelet is that the leather is well protected throughout. Since the laddered strands are braided together they do not move against each other, and the button loop has macrame over it to protect from extra wear and tear. As long as you are using high quality 1mm leather and taking proper care of the bracelet it should last you a very long time. If you prefer a synthetic alternative that is fine too. Just make sure you can fit all 6 strands through your button and you will be good to go!

      Hi Adrianna! Thank you for watching our video. In this and many other projects, we use G-S Hypo Cement. It is a great essential to have on hand. You can find it at www.beadshop.com/products/studioessentials/thread-cord-glue/g-s-hypo-tube-cement.
