Soft pastel are kind of chalk type but they don't finish fast but they are very dusty and they blend very well they are soft and we can layer,gradtion,etc but we can't scratch them camel soft pastel are not good for detailing but blend better than oil pastel. We need less tools for soft pastel we need Soft pastel,knife,tape,paper and fixutive. Here tape,knife are not the important but fixutive are important for keep the drawing safe

Oil pastel like faber castel,camel,doms are cheap which are student grade oil pastel and soft oil pastel are artist or professional grade oil pastel eg mungyo gallery artist soft oil pastel,caran de ache neopastel

Student grade oil pastel are not good for detailing they are for simple drawing but we artist oil pastel for detailing
