Dinky liked Thunderbird 2 so much, it turns out they made it twice!

A shining example of why sometimes it's good to go to physical stores - sometimes you notice things you just hadn't appreciated before. In this instance, I discovered that even as far back as Dinky there could be variations on a theme when the toy maker didn't quite nail it the first time. So what I had perhaps in the past assumed was someone trying to restore or repaint a Thunderbird 2 by Dinky was in fact Dinky themselves trying an upgrade to their original design... And if you check out ‪@BlueHToys‬ you'll discover this is just a fraction of Dinky's tinkering with Thunderbird 2!

Yeah I always liked the blue Thunderbird 2 for some reason.

Marvellous work! I remember seeing this individually and initially thought that the lighter one was more UV damaged, then I realised they're only a few years apart and then my thought was 'Two goes and still not a green one?'. But now I see they are indeed different iterations and obviously more than just running changes and a complete retool. Without seeing them side by side it was very hard to discern the size difference. Very educational.

Same here, I just thought the variants were repaints via restoration but obviously not so much. I might have to look at my catalogues to see when they switched over now I know what I'm looking for...
