Honestly it comes down to active listening. Customers want a clean and shiny car, you can polish to perfection and they'll run it through a car wash the next day. Myself I do paint enhancement, just a light polish to preserve clear coat, round over the scratches and increase gloss
Yes…please do let customers know about automatic brush car washes will do to your car people!! They’ll eat it up the best ceramic coating you could buy in a matter of months, I’ve seen a guy who used it everyday because of the $40 monthly unlimited top tier wash package(hot wax, ceramic, sealant, tire shine, wheel cleaner, etc), but was somewhere around $30 for a single wash. He just got the top tier ceramic package done on his brand new black GMC 1500. You’d never know it ever had ceramic done. He was devastated&thought the shop scammed him, which I know they would never do because they’ve been in business for over 30 years, local owner, grew up in our small city&does great things for our community, along with having the best reputation around that gets people to drive hours away to drop off their vehicles to him for all the services he offers.
This, this right here is what’s wrong with the America. You summed it up in 60 seconds without knowing it. Doing dishonest work, cutting corners, just to turn a higher profit. If the customer asks me for 3 stage system, I will do it. But, I will also recommend based off the condition of the car. If it only needs a a quick buff and wax, I will say that. I work for plenty of people who tell me exactly what they want and I do it. I would never put any 4 in 1 product on my cars. They don’t work as well as the the tried and true method. The reason why three steps are the gold standard is based off science. Each compound is doing something different. You should probably focus on communication, being more time efficient, and narrowing down what you are good at. I have a stupid high attention to detail from being in the military. My customers like the little things I do more than anything else. All those little cracks and crevices make it pop, demonstrating you know more than just throwing products on different areas. I only use a 3 step system, engine bay cleaner, wheels, carpet/upholstery and plastic revive. 7 products I have used for over a decade but I have over 30 different picks, scrapers, hooks etc for getting into all the hard spots.
I can tell by reading this, you seem to be a no-nonsense type of individual. I’m still a rookie in the field of detailing… would you be willing to list those 7 products specifically?
A paint in enhancement would just be applying your favorite finish with a finishing pad. A stage one correction is using a polish with minor cutting capabilities and a light polishing pad.a stage 2 correction is when you use a a more aggressive pad with a compound etc.for just a one stage ,I usually go with an orange foam pad from lake country and sonax perfect finish
So you can polish windows? That’s probably what I need to do honestly, I used a clay bar on my windshield and driving at night I still see so many spots all over the place it makes it hard to see in the dark
lol what? How is paint correction exclusively autobody work? I, a detailer, can correct paint a whole lot better than most paint/body men I have come across.
Lmao detailers do way better in terms of paint correction than many body shops I’ve seen. Actually detailers a lot of the time have to FIX what the body shops fucked up in.

What tools do I need for that? My black lexus seriously needs some correcting

Comes down to system choice. Offer packages a b c . Then inform them what an automatic brush car wash does

Thanks for the tip
I disagree with the rupes polisher, and recommended the max shine polisher! Equal if not way better quality for far less money!!!…
Rupes machine is AMAZINGLY smooth! It’s so smooth compared to FLEX
Should I get the enhanced polish as well or no?
They have a stage 3 … I didn’t know
Total polishing newbie here. If you are taking the time to do a one stage polishing job, is it worth using a pad with some cut rather than no cut?

Just do it correctly if it’s for you. Definitely do first step in hardest or dirtiest areas. Second pass with polish and black or blue pad
@@Brian-dj3ru Definitely a orange pad from lake Country with Sonax Perfect Finish will complete 90% of the consumer base's issues
All depends on the softness of the paint to choose the pad and polish for the job
Orange foam pad and 3D one will solve all your problem! It will remove 60-70% defects and finish beautifully at the same time!

What do you recommend for polishing glass?
A product called ligma
Carpro ceriglass

They do make a glass polish. I believe Carpro makes one that you can use either by machine or by hand. The machine works best.
@@franksattler6053 thanks man I’m gonna check it out I really need to do something about about it
Yes. Get a designated glass polish and glass polishing pad. Or you can do razor blades and alcohol , or steel wool
You can steam them too.
Use steel wool with wax compound thank me later 🫡
Super hot guy, good stuff
auto detailers needs to stop, talking like they know autobody work.
He's not talking about bodywork? He's specifically talking about paint correction, and he's making a valid point.

This dude literally just said that, wow🤣 😂 💀
My mans paint correcting glass 💀
It’s to remove heavy water marks and give it more gloss
And? Glass can be paint corrected. Even Ammo NYC said the same thing.
Damn, it was a joke. I know you can polish glass. The joke was that he is "paint-correcting" glass, since there is no paint. Relax
