The thing about the Crocs is they camouflage them selfs in the jungle making their sound a part of the Jungle atmosphere. Hearing their noises when you are in the Jungle while you cant see them or dont even know if their are far way(their noise is loud if hear it doesnt mean you are near them) makes this noise far more scarier. A Lion is less scary cuz they are in the savanna you can see them pretty good( while they dont hunt)
For me, I find it more scarier then a lion's roar because a lion's roar is to show how powerful and mean they can be. Meanwhile a Crocodile's roar just has that creepy slow growl...
