I’ve had luck using a plasters hawk the working edge rides rides along the bottom log. Any loose chinking falls back on the hawk to be worked back into place. I use this technique when plastering in tight spots and it’s less messy. Thank you for bringing us along on this adventure keep up the good work

You might want to add the tint to some water first then add the mixture to the mortar.
