Spectacular performances of Samuel Scheidt, one of (if not the) finest brass ensemble around. As for the piccolo player far right, this is the best playing of the instrument I've ever heard. Pity a rating can only go to five stars.
thank you so much for this rare document!! - especially the 'courante' [from minute '3:02 on] is such a beautiful jewel of brass-music! - I love the warm-'cantabile'-sound of Crespo's trombone and the effortlessly 'beaming' trumpet intonation of Beetz::: Couldn't find a regular recording of this concert - the former CD-Production of German Brass' Scheidt-Interpretations only contains a different version (with less 'coloratura' e.g.). So thank you again for this Version!

Despite the fireworks up top, Matthias works brilliantly. IMO the finest trumpeter of the present era. Bar none.
