    From another owner: these are some of the last analogue cars, true drivers cars that always elicit a smile. Thank you for the review.

      You still got it? Any major mechanical issues to look out for, I'll be buying one soon

    I love mine - a U.S. LHD 1999 with S52 that i bought in 2001 with ~16,000 miles. These definitely need to be driven and enjoyed. It’s a shame to hear of them hidden in garages getting 4 miles in 2 years. As of 2023, mine has reached 225,000+ miles. Regular thumbs-up from pedestrians, motorcyclists, and other drivers, plus the occasional request to buy it, keeps mine happily out in public and on the road. 😎

    Also from another owner: in the year of COVID-19 I've put 4500 miles on my S52 Coupe, driving up and down Appalachia multiple times. It's been in the shop for service twice this year: control arms (that already needed replacing last year) and an oil change. That's it. It's literally my dream car, I had a Maestro scale model when I was kid. Great review and video!

      Really great to hear you're out on the roads in the car, it really is a shame to have them sitting collecting dust. Enjoy the miles and thanks for the kind words

    Great review. I can imagine this thing is a bit of a weapon if you ask it.

    Stan in Orlando, Florida, USA. Bought a 2001 S54 new. Titanium Silver w/ Red/Blk/Sunroof delete U R 100% correct in this video. Mine (Christian) has 5K miles and lives in a climate controlled garage. It's rare a car guy gets to buy a new, single-purpose, high-performance sports car built in such rare numbers with such high quality and BMW-manufacture/BMWCCA (largest car club in the USA) support. I love this crazy little monster. Excellent video! Cheers.

    To me the z3m shooting brake is one of the best BMW's ever built. I'd get one if they'd be affordable since the prices in germany are pretty similar to what you mentioned (50k in good shape). Very well made video btw.

    I like the cars from the 80-90s. Mostly analog and easy to repair. Everything beyond that have so many electrical problems and you need expensive diagnostic equipment. Of course replacement parts are more expensive too. Ever try to find a deal on one head or tail light? lol

    I had what was known in South Africa as "The German Spec e36 M3"...same set up, no traction control and that glorious engine...the slightest bend and a heavy foot meant you went sideways...good times!!!

    What a shame... Those are made to be driven, like every other car indeed, but this one is special... That makes me sad also, the best way to enjoy it is not to park it underneath some sort of dumb carpet...

    Remove the lower pedal cowl, it gives more foot space and is not necessary down there anyway.

      Yup I did the same on mine! It was so annoying before I removed it.

      If I were the owner, I'd do the same. Risking damaging such a beautiful and rare car is not worth it, I prefer to keep it in a heated garage, under a cover and ride with just to fetch bread. Every year it grows in value.

    • @hotwheelshuntinguk
      @hotwheelshuntinguk Před 19 dny

      @@Fiatagri60170I do the opposite. I love driving my car. I don’t keep a car for its value. The way I see it, You may as well enjoy what you have and use it, or give it to someone else who will.
