Rates aren't going down because it will lead to inflation again. The fed is still selling treasuries to raise money for all of the spending the GOV is doing which will put upward pressure on rates. Also, the yield curve is still inverted and when it steepens that will put upward pressure on rates. You will probably see 8% rates before you see 6%.
Well said .. Totally agree
I “need” more space so I’m in the market for a new home. My current interest rate is 4%. Not looking forward to a new 7-8% rate! But I have a large down so and hope to pay off the new home before 30 years! Sucks to be in the situation but what can you do?
Don't look at it as a big bill you need to pay off. Your house is an asset and don't need put yourself in a tight spot to pay off the loan so fast. Instead invest in it and borrow from your equity if you're ever in a bind. It's definitely something you can refinance as well when rates drop.
Why have a title called, "A look at when could housing prices be affordable again," but not provide an analysis on the issue? I wasn't expecting clickbait from ABC.
Maybe try building more houses!!!
Real estate agents are quitting and looking for something else to do
We need to redevelop single family houses into denser housing developments on land that's already been developed rather than push the narrative that a single family detached house is the only type of 'good' housing. We also need to stop looking at a house as an "asset" because it's not... It's a liability until you go to sell it and then, like all these people who bought into the narrative that real estate brokers pushed for, that this video is referencing, hope that you get more than what you paid for it.
Real estate is an asset and everybody knows it. It has always been and will always be. You are just trying to deny it yourself.
If this is how you feel are you gonna live in an apartment complex your whole life ? A little cubicle ?
Welcome to America. If you don't like it, move to China
