I was an Uber Eats delivery driver for 2yrs after the pandemic. I made 7k a month and I had the freedom of making my own schedule. I’ve never been embarrassed to tell ppl what I did for a living! Some ppl are too concerned with an image. Where you meet a person at in life financially doesn’t mean that’s where they’re always gonna be!
I did Uber in college and was clearing 400$ a day. Plus you work whenever you want to work, so the ceiling can be higher. I just worked early mornings from 4am-10am before my classes started. It's no glamorous work. You have to work on holidays to make the big bucks. There's no clout. There's no fame. It can be tedious and exhausting. But it's honest work.

On top of that, I usually did the early rides to and from the airport which were long and I got tipped a lot. One of my regulars would hook me up with a twenty dollar tip on top of the 40-50$ ride. I do about four of those trips and be good all day. Each trip takes like an hour total. But this was like ten years ago. The game might’ve changed. 🤷🏽♂️

It got massively better during the pandemic when I started and then significantly worse than before once people started going back to work. I mostly stick to grocery shopping for people since that pays the most with the least wear and tear on my car. Yeah I hear from some that Uber rides can be more profitable though.

I am a retired attorney and drive for Lyft and Uber part-time to get out of the house and supplement my retirement income. I see these types of women daily and feel sorry for the younger generation. They have nothing to bring into a relationship yet they expect to meet high-income men.

I drove Uber for about 8 months during Covid. I’d just quit my job and drove until I figured out what I wanted to do next. Before I quit my corporate job I’d already put up over $30k, had over $25k in stocks and more than $50k in other investments, not to mention I had a cool $20K in savings. I wasn’t “rich” but I wasn’t broke either. I haven’t driven for Uber in years but I literally enjoyed that time in my life because I was able to create my own schedule and make however much money I wanted for the week (now that I’m married with a son, I REALLY VALUE that time because it was my time alone, lol). She’s narrow minded and would likely be single forever with this thought process. People who drive for Uber sometimes are doing it just to pass time, some work aggressively for 6 months just to go back home for the other 6 months, etc. Don’t knock it just because you don’t understand it or even just because you wouldn’t do it yourself.

I've seen their driver app and the tips they get and the driving they do. I have a friend who literally pulls 10 hours shifts during the day, goes and sleeps at home for a couple of hours then goes to work overnight stocking at WalMart. He's also tapped into some programs where, combined, he's making over 100,000 a year easily. They sleep on those rideshare drivers but those checks can be pretty hefty
