- Happy New Year! What a blessing it is to see another year. In today’s video, I share a message that I think we all need as we are starting out the new year.
I want to remind you to guard your heart, guard your surroundings, and have proper boundaries with others this year. Proverbs 4:23 says, “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.” Your heart and your life are very precious to God, He doesn’t want you to allow just anyone and anything in. In this video, I share practical advice and tips on setting boundaries with others and guarding your heart.

God definitely amazes me. I had a notice that there was a new video available this morning for this teaching. "Guarding Your heart and setting boundaries" I thought... wow.
My wow is because I just went through an incident that forced me to make a much necessary decision this past weekend after someone I trusted (a close relative) demonstrated to me they would use manipulation, bully and even cuss at me along with highly disrespect me in order to force me to do something, in their opinion, they think I should do but something God has not lead or directed me to do.
Taking that incident to the Lord, I begin to understand that I havent been guarding my heart. I've allowed (because the person being family) to bring toxicity, mental, emotional along with verbal abuse into my life, those very things I chose to walk away from years ago after a toxic marriage.
Its like God opened my eyes to see that I was allowing a relative to bring those same things into my life.
I needed to see that toxicity, mental and emotional abuse can come through family also and I truly believe God needed me to finally recognize this individual does not have my good in mind, does not love according to his word, and in that moment had just demonstrated their heart.
I made a decision to no longer allow this family member to be a part of my life and guard my heart.
I'm sorry you went through that but I'm glad God has shown you their real motive. We can love people and still have healthy boundaries with them. Pray for their deliverance.

Do not befriend people who don't mean me well.
Yes! You will regret it later. You can love them and be cordial to them, but that does not mean you have to let them in your life. The same way we wouldn't pet a snake is the same way we shouldn't befreind those with bad intentions towards us.
