being in high school in the 90’s was so different, I was into comics, video games, and anime... everyone treaded me like I was the biggest nerd, but now all that stuff is extremely popular!

Trent, that Leonardo piece is intense. Blobby and jagged blacks (gotta love the thickness of India ink) and grey fades. Never used goache, though. Anyway, that’s a great and unique style
90's was the best i got at my peek in art in the ninty's and than i quit drawing lol but I started again im back on it so all is well!!!
This looks awesome by itself but if you added a waterbrush blue outline around him that turns into like a flame above him and then also some Japanese writing or a symbol Akuma style in black gray and blue...WOOOOO that would be 🔥
The original TMNT comic was the first time I ever saw real violence in comics. Speaking of violence.... So we're you like hey Liefeld you suck!!! I want to hear more about that.
No. I really liked Liefelds art when I was a teenager. He inspired me to get into comics. I just messed with him about the Levi's commercial by yelling "Yo Rob... Your button fly!?". Then he'd give me the finger. I'm sure he heard that a lot.

Hahaha so I wasn't the only one who became an artist to impress the girls 😂 it's either that, being an actor or playing a guitar, and of all three options drawing is the best I could do.
(Jk obviously but I hope at least some girls love comic book artists otherwise I'm screwed)
Man... when I was a kid I used to draw on anything... I used to draw to pick up chicks!😂yup... it worked... I'd bust out my graffiti skill and do their name...never worked on my wife though...

Wow, TK. That was a very endearing story. I imagine when you arrived you had to use a payphone and call those guys up using a number you wrote down on a gum wrapper or something. It's amazing how we managed to do things back then haha. I kind of miss being made fun of for being into nerdy stuff and drawing comics. I love that underground exclusive feel. I just have to be one of those guys who complain about how nerd culture is too main stream now. Well, it is! And I no likey.

I was a kid in the 90's who read comics and watched animations. No kid knows how it was until they grow and hear the stories. For you Mr. Trent, and all the one's who took the hits and suffering for kids like me, and the generation from that time, I thank you, for holding the line and pushing back more weight, than Hercules.

Maaaannn that last few minutes take me back. Being a kid in 90s that read comics was definitely not considered a cool or trendy thing, especially as a black kid from the projects. I would bring stacks of comics and Wizard mags to school and get clowned every now and then. Crazy to see how things are now.

What type of pencil that you used for this video, the way your drawing with it is so smooth and easy going with the flow. Is it alright if you tell all of us (including me :3) just so we can get it for ourselves.
31 year old just started trying to learn to draw this week using Skillshare to try and learn fundamentals and have a series go at learning to draw. Would your course on gumroad be beneficial easy art lessons 1-20. Am prepared to put the effort in I know how important it is to get the basics right just need a good starting point so I understand what I am doing fully

In 90's México, comics where a big deal and a growing industry, but in that same decade somehow it collapsed. Some artists are to blame about that. Anyway, all that culture used to be cool when I was a teenager back then. And it turned back around in the 2k, and is bouncing back nowadays. That's my perception.

Hey comment section: Here is the thing. I'm good at art, and recreating like photos etc. but on the other hand I cant just come up with like a character and create it from my brain. Is this like a learned skill? I think I would be fine environment wise because that's easier for me. Thoughts?

Go back to fundamentals, or try to break down someone else’s art techniques. Dissect what is good in other art.

I’m in love with the new show but I’ve been hearing a lot of people suggesting Netflix should take over. I wonder how that would work? Shouldn’t animators and other employees and cast members be under a contract or something under nick? How will the paperwork and licensing work
@@NasusKim I really don't know but glitch tech was cancelled on Nickelodeon and it got revived by Netflix to continue season 2 to end
