When I hear people say Phoenix doesn't play D, I immediately know they haven't watched them much since the first couple weeks of the season.
They actually were decent at the start. It was between the 12-20 game mark that they became worse.
They have been really great since the winning streak and Lakers game.
They have a super-small team with the “rim protector” being Nurkic. You’re lying to yourself if you think that’s a recipe for defensive success against the best in the Playoffs

Their defense in the last 12 games has been the 8th best in the league and they've been around 15th/16th all season. At best they're a top 10 defense, at worst top 15/16. KD is playing near elite D and I have to assume they'll further try to improve the defense at trade deadline and waiver wire time. You don't come back from 20+ down in 1 qtr...twice without being able to play D.

Denver was a top defensive team in the playoffs though. They all elevated their game defensively, especially Joker. It was a huge difference

Difference is we have Frank Vogel now. Suns only need to be a top 10 defense which they are now and they are top offensive team as well. They are the favorites to win it all if they play well.

They actually play pretty good defense, they’re just inconsistent. In my opinion turnovers is their biggest problem. They’re still figuring out how to play together, injuries haven’t helped. If they figure it out, they can be extremely scary.

Suns play no defense? I’ve watched them a lot in the last 3 weeks and seen nothing but good defense. They held the Mavs to 5 points for majority of the 3rd quarter and held the kings to 3 points to mount a comeback. Kevin Durants defense has been very good and I feel like he deserves an all defensive team. It seems like he is the anchor on defense

Kd, Book and Beal have great chemistry. They needed time to figure things out and that time has come.
That’s a BS narrative they don’t play defense. They been 13-16 defensive rating all season which is average just like Denver last season. Since Christmas (11-3) when they been healthy they have been 8th in defensive rating. So that notion is out. There defense is not like the bucks kings or the mavericks.

When Booker, Beal, and KD all play the Suns are tough to beat. They're all three level scorers and are all great FT shooters if you put them on the line. The issue for the Suns is how will they hold up defensively and their bench is non existent. They have to depend on their starters exclusively. That's tough to do in the playoffs.

Suns are good, but they not winning a chip this year. Amd as far as last post season. Yea they got two games off the Nuggets, but they were hella close. The 4 wins the Nuggets got were absolute blowouts, especially game 6. So it really wasn’t that close. I don’t think all three will be able to guard in the playoffs. They’ll just try to score 30 a piece and that won’t work

Game 2 wasn't an absolute blowout, and Game 1 and 5 weren't as big as you think. Game 1 was still a 13 point game going into the 4th. Game 5 was a 17 point game going into the 4th which is basically a blowout, but not an absolute blowout. The Suns are easily better this year at all areas (Defense, Finishing, Shooting, Scoring, Rebounding, and Coaching) except Playmaking.
