- If you have an LS2 or LS3 powered C6 Corvette, you can source parts fairly cheaply to upgrade to the 505HP LS7 Air Intake System. It will require a tune as well - so this is best done along with other mods requiring a tune to save a few bucks! (LS3 upgrade deletes the big ugly side box).

An easier way to do the interpolation (instead of manually) would be to use Excel to calculate the equation that defines the relationship of the resistance to the temp for the LS7. Then use that equation to calculate all of the data points that you need for the LS3 MAF for the LS2.
Good idea, that would work good for the IATs. The MAF doesn't need it though, the column identifiers are scaled identically, all I had to do is copy and paste the information over.
Was just about to suggest that. Would be more accurate too since it's a hyperbolic curve and not linear.

That foam filter that came with that air box is not an OEM LS7 air filter, the stock air filter is a blue colored paper filter
100% agreed, I have no idea why they had that in there and where it came from 😭
@@Toys4LifeDirt bikes use oiled foam air filters because they flow lots of air and stop dirt with high efficiency. I made an oiled foam wrap for around my dry high flow filter. I checked the dry filter recently and it was spotless while the foam was dirty. Amsoil used to make a 2 stage thicker foam filter to use alone but stopped due to the increasing number of sizes and applications. The oiled foam filters way better than the oiled cotton gauze.
10-4, this one's old and kind of almost getting gummy. I think it's undersized for how thin the pores are, I'm all for it stopping the big chunks and letting the paper filter handle the smaller chunks. I think my old Honda 200S used to have a foam filter if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, that filter was kind of small and thin and didn’t look like it would work very good. I wish I could get an oiled foam filter for the C5Z. The 2 stage filter I had was approx 1.75” thick, with larger cell course foam on the outside and finer cell foam on the inside, so dirt would get trapped throughout the depth of it and stick to the oil. And it was washable. The foam wrap I have now is 1/2” thick from K& N. I made 2 of them from a 2’x4’ sheet, which was like $75.00😅

2015 ?? My work computer is up to date, this one is just for tuning (:-). I think the C5 is laid out a fair bit differently so it probably but not work.
Curious if a stock ls7 intake would make more power than a C5 cold air intake like the SLP due to the different maf sensor. Im sure an aftermarket ls7 cold air intake would breath alot better but curious to compare stock ls7 to aftermarket c5.

I don't think they're compatible, even though they look similar there is a difference in that front area of the engine bay.

Yes but those have a 78 mm throttle body so that would probably want to be changed out first with a larger one and different manifold.

You should get a dragy to see the difference in 0-60
I think that there would have to be a bigger horsepower difference than we're looking for for the draggy to accurately pick it up?
@Toys4Life if I do back to back runs it shows on the dragy. Temperature and the da can very the performance of the car.
@Toys4Life I do alot of 60-130 and with 1200-1400 da my car runs 7.1-7.4.. low 300 da and my car runs mid 6s 60-130

I wouldn't think so - but I am not sure as the 05 vet has a different PCM (E40) vs the 06-13 C6's (E38).

Could we possibly get a copy of the tune file? Im having trouble figuring out the IAT table.
Turns out you can change the column headings for the IAT and HP tuners. Then I went to the repository in HP tuners and look through some ZO6 tunes until I found one that matched my C6 LS2 tune layout. Somebody gave me that great info in the comments by the way!

@@Toys4Life thank you, I got it all installed today. How much tuning did you have to do afterwards? Just wondering if it's safe to drive for one day easily while I do logs.
I hooked up the scanner and made sure the short and long-term field trims were within range to keep it at stoich at part throttle. Wide open throttle mine was a little rich, I need to tune it this spring, I ran out of weather last fall. If you do the same, you should be good. Probably stay out of wide open throttle obviously (:-)
