  • So in this episode i started working on the engine. It runs pretty good, the timing chain was changed not long ago, so i am glad that doesnt need to be tackled. However, the other parts were not so fresh, so i started with cooling system (radiator was recently changed too), auxiliary belts, tensioners and pulleys, new waterpump, vanos solenoid seals, i also got new oem hoses for the power steering reservoir, etc. Pretty happy with the end result, i think it all went well, if you liked it too, please consider subscribing ;-)
    thank you!

    hope that is a new fan clutch as never put back a old on when you do a belt sevice as they are cheap replacement and could when they go wrong cause a catastrophic failure to the coolant systems, pipes and belts

    Nice job! It's always a joy to see my E38's twin being given proper treatment and the magical tool called a steam cleaner being used too. One question though, so please correct me if I missed it. Did you replace the Transmission Cooler to Alternator coolant hose? That seems to be the stumbling block I'm hitting on mine when facing the same tasks to resolve a coolant leak.

      heyyy, thank you so much! oh i love my steam cleaner, i would have to say it is the best tool i have in my garage for detailing..
      transmission cooler to alternator coolant hose? :-O can you send me some part number? i dont think i have ever seen such line, transmission cooler lines are going in the small oil cooler and back.. alternator i didnt touch yet, it runs good so far, so i dont remember how the coolant is routed there :-)

    Timing chains and vanos okay on this one? You were half way into the timing chain job with that much disassembly!

    • @TheFuxxoWorksGarage
      @TheFuxxoWorksGarage  Před rokem +1

      yes, timing chain was changed around 5000-7000km before that..
      even if it wasnt, i dont think i would be brave enough to do that job on my own :-D

      @@TheFuxxoWorksGarage it happens, did your model come with Servotronic? it's like power steering but it makes the wheel light as a feather
