    So many people will do anything they can to avoid engaging guard work, including plenty of backpedaling and stalling. So refreshing to see Tye aggressively engaging and passing.

      If More BJJ guys shot takedowns 8/10 times the legs will clear for you especially With doubles. Most matches are 18 mins of trying to past and it gets pretty boring. 🙄

      @@Clark3218 That's not true. It isn't that easy to complete a takedown straight into a dominant position. Especially vs elite guards like Nicky's, they will 99% of the time scramble into some kind of guard during the takedown

      @moosemoosepower Před 3 lety +6

      bherm100 interesting topic that I heard someone call limb substitution or limb transferability. Roy Dean talks about the topic on his channel sometimes, but essentially just the idea that if you can transfer and use your other limbs to free up another you become a greater threat i.e such as Tye using his leg to pin Nickys leg to the floor rather than using both of his hands and arms to control Nickys legs.
      Been an interesting thing to pay attention to while I roll in my gym, always trying find a substitution to pinning something to the ground instead of my hands.
      I use it most frequently when passing someone’s guard. Instead of using both hands to pin their arms to the ground Ill try to catch one of their hands or arms and pass it off down below to my knees. So instead of holding them down the whole time with my hands I now have it pinned with the knee and now have both hands free to work with
