It's probably the biggest phone upgrade of all time. Only things they need to work on is the crease, and the battery life, and include Samsung Dex. Then, it'll be the perfect phone.
Nah. Sticking with my S23 Ultra until Samsung makes the crease on the Fold as shallow as the competition.
That hideous deep trench still ruins the look of the phone and is still too noticeable (looks like a defectively installed screen protector even if it doesn’t.
Learned this the hard way from the Z Flip 4 (which I traded in to get the S23 Ultra).
I couldn’t live with the crease 😂

10 years ago I didn’t think I would say this, but Samsung phones are getting really cool.
They've been great phones for a while now.
They’d be way cooler if at least they put a charger in the box. For that much money that’s the least they can do.
The outer screen software has been done so good and is very very well thought out
I just got mine in the mail today in graphite black. This thing is AMAZING! Feels so premium and the outside display is crisp

Late comment but this is awesome. I like how this phone has a 3x more cover screen than the previous Z Flip phones. That’s just impressive.

Getting used to mine tonight. One question, on my old Android phone I could clear an App by fingering straight up from the bottom then clearing all. How do I clear apps with this? Is it automatic when I go back to home? Thanks. Bill

@@kelvinmorris1991one style is a fold. they’re 2 different designs. One’s a tablet that folds into a full sized phone. One’s a full sized phone that flips to fold in half like a flip phone.

My Mum and sister have Z-flips and despite being an iPhone user I’ve been Impressed. I did used to have Razrs though. But this one seems like a downgrade to me, and purely to do with the outer screen trying to do too much. Play videos, yes but on the outside of your phone? Why.

lol...because its something that drains battery a lot and also has a ot of tracking software that I don't want on my phone.

I was iPhone till this phone. I love it! So amazing. Won’t go back to apple until there’s flips. This phone is perfect! I use my phone mostly closed. So cool! Definitely gets looks also 😂

I don’t think there’s a big market for it. I’ve asked many people on Twitter and CZcams if they would buy a folding phone if it was an iPhone, and most of them say no.

Apple has already rejected Samsung displays for certain folding products. The fail rate is too high for Apple. So Samsung has said they will resolve the issues. Samsung is willing to run with a beta product as they probably believe that with time their displays will become more reliable. But a cursory Google search suggests that Flip and Fold owners have a lot of screen issues (too early for Fold/Flip 5). I suspect Apple is not willing to let consumers beta test or have QC issues.
I’m just not a foldable phone fan we had foldable phones years back the screen always giving problems scratched easy after flexing a lot they looked terrible I know things have improved but just not my thing

Prices around 1k for a top tier product have been here for 6 years. There are loads of cheaper phones if price is your main concern.
That's not expensive these days for phones with the top processors in them. The top phones cost $2000
Love the ZFlip5 and Fold5 as secondary lines but my iPhone 14Pro Max will always be my everyday standard w/being so deep into the Apple ecosystem.

Why wont Apple make a Flip or Fold phone? They are so behind…
They tested the Samsung folding displays recently but they failed their QC tests. I suppose Apple is not willing to the high fail rate Samsung has. Though Samsung negates that with big trade-in deals to get people to upgrade yearly for little so they do not have too many breakages in years 2 and 3.

It's garbage got flip 4 after 8 months of use. Have a small crack in the left edge.middle...to repair it costs £450 ee ontract I'm under warranty
Trying to play devils advocate here, so if this was Apple and they released a foldable with a big crease down the middle and in no matter what light it looks like the screen is bespoke glass from the 1600’s with all its imperfections, can you just imagine the absolute hate they would get ? I ask this because I get called a Fanboy or biased but I’m really not I would just be interested in knowing the ‘what if’. Once again no hate everyone has there reasons and preferences it’s a genuine wonderment..

Zero dust resistance, 5 generations in is terrible.
The phone looks uglier than a normal phone with a punch hole for some reason.....
The price is terrible, you could get an s23 with the same storage for $200 less.
The cameras are worse than an s23 and you dont get a telephoto lens.
This phone sucks, the technology sucks, and I forsee it getting better in 3 more generations, sadly....
Am I suppose to remove the front screen screen protector? It seems like there is a sticker in the whole thing but I’m not sure if I’m supposed to remove it 🫠
