I have been a huge Mizzou fan since 95 and a season ticket holder since 2013. This is the stuff I have dreamed of that they could compete day in and day out with the best of the best in the country on the field and in recruiting. I am hoping it continues!
Cant wait for the Mizzoui vs Bama game this fall and John Mizzoui is probably going have another great season in football again #RTR

You forgot Ricky Frasier my favorite MIZ bball player of all time. He was by far the best player on that team with Sunvold & Stipo, but is forgotten for some reason.
He got drafted by the bulls, but had anxiety & quit pre-season. He later became blind. Sad story.
I'll always remember him as the guy that carried the team as I watched him put up 29pts, 55%, 8rbs, 3stls in 39mins against Phi Slamma Jamma(Drexler & Hakim, 5 1st rd picks, 1 2nd rd) in the S16 game at the Checkerdome. 1 pt loss...

That turn around Jumper from the free throw line/top of the key was deadly. 6'6" built like a linebacker, arm length of a 7 footer, could shoot from anywhere on the court, & lightning quick.

Yep had a neighbor as a kid in stl who was a diehard Mizzou fan, former grad. We would travel to one game a year with him and kept in touch. He’s passed now tho, guy loved miz basketball
I'm 30. I started following Mizzou BB while in high school('09-'12). During my junior year of HS, my older brother got me into the student section of the 2011 Boarder War game. We lost, but it was such a memorable experience. My freshman year at Mizzou was 2013, the first year in the SEC, so I never got to experience a boarder war game as a student/college years. Wouldn't say I'm a die-hard fan of Mizzou BB, but I casually follow it during our less memorable seasons(Like last year), and get really into it the years we are great. Mizzou BB is the best school to never make an appearance in the Final Four. #MIZ
Simeon Barrow has 3 years of starting experience as DT. Picking him up would be big. From what I recall we are kinda thin at DT too.

I'm 47 years old. Born and bread Mizzou (grew up in Moberly) but I can't for the life of remember seeing Stipo/Sunvold teams. I do however remember Dan Bingenheimer, Mike Sandbothe, Nathan Buntin, Lynn Hardy, and company. Of course, "Band-aid" man and Smith.
My best memory ever though was the Kansas game in '87 when Lee Coward dropped a 3 to win just a few seconds left from right in front of me
Gates gets 2 more years no matter what. He just brought in the greatest recruiting class in history.(Porter never played, Harris was a bust)
He's already got a 5 star for 2025.
He should get a chance to get the guys he wants & the system he wants in place.
Had we just had Grill the season would have been a whole lot different.
The guy can recruit like crazy & coach guys up. He puts guys in the league.
We need to give him a chance to get it done.
I think we'll be an above 500 team next year & maybe even a tournament team.
I met Dennis Gates at the St. Louis airport a couple days ago. He's a really nice guy. I'm pulling for him to excel!!!
You can't call it "the greatest recruiting class in history" when none of them have played, and then do the Hindsight 20/20 thing on the Porter class. This coming class could disappoint as well.

Gates actually recruited these guys, did player evaluation, etc.
Cuonzo lucked into a situation & never was able to even come close to that recruiting level. Gates already has a 5 star signed for next year.
Actually, without having to frame the narrative:
2024: 94.89, 9 4-stars, 1-3 star.
2017: 94.29, 1 5-star, 3 4-stars, 2 3-stars.
(If you only compare HS REC's 2024 avg player ranking 96.21, which is way higher)
So objectively, it's still the best rec class. Higher avg player ranking, 10 rec's instead of 6.

Come to Mizzou - Get paid, play for great coach, enthusiastic fan base, great facilities, great player development, improve your chances of going to NFL. Any or all of these reasons is fine by me!
Plenty of die hards in their mid to late 20’s that remember the 09 Elite 8 run & the great teams of that era, 2008-2013.

Your Barry Odom retort was off base. Barry wasn't ready to be a SEC head coach. Was that his fault? No. Did he set the program back? Yes. Again because he wasn't ready to be a head coach that was the result. Not all his fault but that's what happened. We didn't need a "rebuild", he needed to follow what was already being done (although he didn't get along with Kuligowski and let/encouraged him to leave, which was a mistake) or just turn down a job he wasn't ready for, I know that no one does that but it would have been best for both the university and him quite frankly.
Coach "Kool" could definitely coach up the D-Line, but with the allegations that have come out (and he retired to escape) maybe BO wasn't wrong to not get along with him
@@johnparker8588 His failure was being a defensive coordinator that couldn't create a good defense and that he always lost to teams that we shouldn't have lost to. He also couldn't recruit. Once he had to play with all his players, things deteriorated quickly.
Odom did set Mizzou back he couldn’t recruit anyone offense was sad pinkel was a very good coach he was a savior in my opinion
Missouri is a solid program they just needed a coach.
Mizzou is doing what every other team is doing so if ur mad that better players are coming to Mizzou ur a hater
I hope the success continues but I doubt we're leading for Rogers. On3 is far more credible than rivals and their rpm machine has him at 72% to lsu. Could things change, could that be wrong? Sure. However let's not act like recruiting isn't fluid and every school gets the I had an amazing time on my visit speech from these kids. These kids aren't gonna do interviews and be like....oh yeah this place sucks I hate it.
I was basing it more on what Gabe is saying than Rivals in general. I certainly agree that On3 is the better recruiting source at this point.
@LockedOnMizzou just Gabe being Gabe. I read that he predicts we land him and a total of 4.5 of the 9 visitors. But I refuse to pay for his thoughts I just wait till it's posted free somewhere by someone else. If 2024 is as goof or better than 2023 then yeah I could believe the hype. That's not saying we won't have a good class but you just don't start fighting with thr big Boyd because of one good season and cash you gotta build up to it.
