- Hi friends! This DIY faux stone backsplash is EVERYTHING. Easily one of the best DIYs I've ever done. This diy backsplash adds character, texture and visual interest; it transforms the space to new levels of luxury; it is DREAMY and best of all... it is 100% fully removable and renter friendly!!! Wow. I am actually in disbelief at how good this diy kitchen backsplash turned out. It is even better than I could have imagined. It looks like the real deal and is honestly better than any other renter friendly solution I have EVER seen for a backsplash - easily 10x better than any peel and stick option that I've seen. This diy backsplash won't damage drywall and is honestly just amazing. I am officially one step closer to fully transforming my diy dream rental apartment! What i enjoy most about Dalia's videos, the evolution of her process , finding ways to bring her beautiful visions to life, always with the challenge of renter friendly hacks. Backsplash is brilliant! If you find the drywall compound cracking along seams, try using caulk used for color matching grout in showers where movement would otherwise crack.😻

This turned out amazing! I absolutely love stone walls, gives so much characte and adds a vintage feel to it. Makes things so much more "homey" and warm. If that makes sense. And your husband at the end, so sweet!!! Such kind words he says to you, he supports you and it shows. Then his little giggle! You two are adorable❤

I was very skeptical at first, but this looks amazing! It really ties the light cupboards in with the counters now. I wouldn’t do above the cupboards. I think it looks good as it is. Save yourself some stress!

I love your videos and what you are able to do despite the challenges that come with planning such tasks. As someone who also struggles with ADHD I know how hard it can be to FINISH a project! The colors in the tiles makes the cabinets look soooo much more modern! I didn't anticipate that, but the stone colors brought out the cool tones in the cabinets, and deemphasized the yellow/orange ones. Soo beautiful!

It looks cool. I am just wondering of you plan to seal it? I am a messy cook and I can't imagine having a backsplash that I can't wipe off without taking off the joint compound

Really like this idea! ❤️ Curious, why didn't you use actual grout instead of the drywall stuff? I'm not very familiar with either so I'm wondering if using grout would have still given you the effect you were after without needing as much touchup work after drying 🤔
And btw, EXCELLENT design selection, it pairs really well with your existing cabinets, which is sometimes hard to find in rental friendly options 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
grout is a lot more expensive than drywall compound. also grout is like a weaker form of cement, still very strong stuff. it is not as easy to remove or wipe away when it dries. drywall compound is a lot more forgiving and convenient for projects like this.

@@DIYDalia Have you ever asked your landlord if they would like to keep the upgrades that you do. I have a clause with my renter that they can make improvements as long as they don't touch the foundation or other structural parts of the house. You put so much thought into your work that I would love to move into a place after you've decorated it :)
