Regardless of what people may think, mental illness is real. This man was probably being tormented by “ the voices” telling him to kill his babies. As a psych nurse, my heart aches for these people. Most times they are okay as long as they take their medication. I pray he gets the help he needs. Thank you Lord for saving those precious babies.❤
I agree. All of the signs are indicating that the father obviously has a form schizophrenia, either undiagnosed or previously diagnosed but he is non-compliant with recommended treatments. Which unfortunately is very common in patients with serious mental illnesses. I ask that those who are expressing rage at him, Try to forgive him for being mentally ill. Because, there, but for the grace of God, go I.

It isn’t up to me to forgive him, it is up to the people he harmed to decide if they want to do that, and they have a right not to. I hope that he faces full repercussions for his actions and he can get regulation and assistance wherever he ends up to the point where he can understand why his actions were wrong and the kids can get the closure they need from that understanding. I am a youtube commenter; not an officer, not one of the kids, not a judge, and certainly not someone who can offer him any forgiveness. I can just hope that the kids get what they need from him to move past this event and live their lives to the fullest despite his unconscionable actions.

BUT….that does not negate the fact that there are consequences for action’s perpetrated against others! Consequences are penalties. Just because one is forgiven…does not mean there will be no consequences for their bad deed or actions.

I would love to know exactly what they mean by the twins are improving and are on the mend. The reports state these babies were under water for several minutes. Have they regained consciousness at all? What are the doctors expecting regarding brain damage? I know I’m not entitled to this information. My heart goes out to these babies and their mother. I’m shocked this case isn’t getting more coverage nation wide. I only just came across this because I was actively searching videos about drowning (3am deep dives I could explain how I got to drowning but we don’t have time for all that lol) anyways I just hope these babies will be okay ❤❤❤❤

I'm pretty sure she meant 'in the water.' I couldn't survive 'under water for several minutes' and I'm sure small children couldn't either.

I’ve nursed “near drowning” victims for 30 years. Being alive after that amount of time under water doesn’t mean you’re going to be normal. The degree of brain damage can be significant. When children survive, the perpetrator never gets a long jail sentence, despite the fact the children may need lifelong medical care. Surviving such a thing may not be “optimal”. Just my point of view, although a full recovery can always be hoped for, it may be a lifetime of suffering ahead for the victims.
This man is clearly mentally ill. I am glad the twins had those guardian angels to rescue them. I hope they will recover well.

Mental health care and services don't meet the needs of those most in need. The billions saved is worth far more than spending on residential preventative care against x amount of killings per year. The prison is far cheaper to house the disturbed and dangerous.
