Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

ScrapMan, from what I was seeing, I think your double detachable blocks actually weren't working because your rotor blades only have 1 attachment point on the ends.
Scrapman: 9:45 putting ''extra'' deattachable blocks into the blades that has only one side connection.
Me: That can't be good...
Im not sure, but i think the blades of scrapmans helicopter only have 1 attachment point? That would mean he only had 1 detachable block per blade actually doing something.
You also can see that sometimes there is a detachable block left when he is missing a blade.

one note to prevent the propellers littering the ground and becoming a hazard to yourself like they did for Scrapman is to select the turn to scrap option in the settings for the detachable blocks
The doubled detachable blocks on Scrapman's helicopter are non functional, because the small wing pieces he used only have one attachment point. So it still was only one detachable block which connected the wings to the engine

Can we just all agree that Scrapman is amazing? Almost every day he posts a new vid. I dont think he gets enough thanks for that. So thanks for all you do, your vids are AWESOME.
I think Scrapman mentioned in a previous video that the EMP can only affect a certain amount of things in a certain area so that's why his double detachable block plane worked so well because the wings were so close but since his blades were further here the EMP had to make up the things it affected by affecting more of the detachable blocks on each blade it hit. I could be completely wrong
Would still love to see a Trailmakers battle (land or air, your choice) where you have shields that you can only take out with EMP weaponry before you're allowed to shoot the creation with ballistic weapons only.
Something that would be fun to see is everything connected with detachable blocks so that the whole creation slowly disintegrate.
Scrap: builds a literal war helicopter, the Chinook
Yzuei: builds a micro-helicopter thing
One challenge i would like too see is Wall widers EMP battles, one shot to take the fall.
Surprised neither of you decided, "A helicopter can have as many blades as I want!' and built a quad copter or something lol.
I just had a great strategy idea for these videos! Instead of having all detachable blocks on one button, give them symmetrical groups. That way if you’re damaged you won’t have an uneven build. If that’s not how emps work, you still benefit because now that extra blade/wing/wheel can be dropped at the push of a button!

I need to see this like the vehicles with irrational fears. Like the detachable blocks are everywhere not just important parts
In many rounds you still had some detachable blocks left on some wings that were gone.
Don't the small wings only have one attachment point making the second detachable block obsolete?
It seemed that this was sometimes the reason your copter got taken out so easily.
A dogfight roulette would be awesome, before each round a wheel is spun to figure out what happens: swap vehicles, change weapons, reverse controls, etc.
This man is the reason I got trail-makers and the reason I know how to play the game
The detachable block videos have been great, you could do planes with detachable blocks on the seats, or on the jet engines
I wanna see a 2v2 challenge where 1 person builds with a cannon, and the other an emp. The only way to fire the cannon is to hit your teammate with the emp.
Idea: a dogfight in space, but you can only use RAW jet engines for thrust, and it takes place around that one asteroid with 1g of gravity, so while you aren't boosting, you'll fall towards the asteroid
idea: the creations where you put hoverblocks on servos so they can spin fast and you can stay still on the water, but with emps so the servos can get disabled, and the hoverblocks will stop spinning wich will make you fall in the water
That tiny copter looks SO MUCH like a lego build.

Please try a cheat round. Build something from the past and limit it with max blocks, but within this limit you can hide all things. But your opponent must not be able to see them when you first show them. So you can hide weapons or engines or anything else.
Getting shot once is either fatal or you can survive.

He should have mixed the ideas of having a vehicle with stacked propellers and offset propellers so that if the front or back were taken out entirely, he still would have the counter rotating forces keeping him stable.
Challenge Idea: One of you is trying to destroy an unmanned vehicle while the other is trying to retrieve it, the vehicle can probably just move around in a circle like the submarine in the air bombing video, both of you can repair however much you want, the winner is whomever saves or destroys the vehicle first. The vehicle follows the same rules as most videos do, if the vehicle is a boat it's considered destroyed when it fully submerges in the water, if it's an air vehicle it's when it hits the ground or water, however if it's a land vehicle it's destroyed when the seat is separated from the rest of the vehicle in some way. The kind of vehicles you use is up to you, it could be a mix or you could make it just a specific kind, and the vehicle is saved when you get them to a set respawn location, you can choose which one. This is all just an idea so if there's anything you think would be more fun or easier, feel free to change any part of the challenge if you decide to try it out.
Challenges ideas:
1 death race 2vs2 around the edges of the desert planet, the catch is 2 are racing while the other 2 are in orbit at 1250m shooting orbital lasers.
2 no limitations wall battles on the edges of the test zone (you have something like 5000m of smooth surface for PvP) you could do it upside down too if you reach the ceiling

I still want to see those gyros put into sailing ships and you guys pirate battle it out. You know first to lose their sail or sink loses classic battle. The problem before with sailing ships was that you needed a massive keel to both keep your creation horizontally stable and also to keep it from rolling as much. The gyro stabilizers can take care of the rolling, so you just need a strong enough horizontal stabilizer (which can also be a gyro.) Like sailing ships are so much more plausible now with mcguffin-ry that I think it's worth going back and trying. Are sails better than underwater props? No, but it's still something you can try out again on a much more plausible basis.

You should try making flares for the flying vehicles to confuse a lock

You should do a juggernaut run. 5v1 with the goal being: make it from base station to moon with enemies, without getting destroyed.
I still think doing detachable engines on plane would be interesting. Because the only changes that should happen is your flight speed and ofc weight

cool vid, i just recently got into Trailmakers, so trying to learn as much as i can, ty for the vids you have on this game. Have you ever tried a race using 4 different vehicles 1 for each lap, or maybe even a relay race using multiple vehicles...

progressing on from the detach from EMP series. what if you detached thrust/engines. for a plane it would mean building in systems as to where gliding might be needed to prolong crashing
You should do an EMP battle with planes that have no power cores.
You can do this using flapping or any other method 😊
EMP air ship battle Rules 150min - 300max Blocks you must be able to move in all directions
I'm still hoping you guys do a robot battle. Kind like rock 'em sock 'em robots. They wouldn't even need to be 'walkers' you could anchor them to the ground and take turns punching each other.
You could do this same thing for all the vehicle types. Tanks, snow mobiles, cars, hover craft, ect.
Not sure if it would work but maybe you could set the detachable block to make scrap to stop the collision between your blades and the servo.
Do a EMP boat battle but all buoyancy blocks have to be attached with detachable blocks
I've given this idea before, but... Two teams, one team in a BIG plane with a gunner seat, and one team in two with TINY kamikaze dynamite-tipped planes might be fun to watch.
Now you guys need to do detaching tires, hover pads, and skis.
You should try detachable thrust next
You guys should do a combined arms war, though here's the twist, only world war one era style tanks and planes are allowed. Tanks such as the Mk I-V landship, A7V heavy tank, Ft-17 light tank, Saint Chamond heavy tank and Char 2C super heavy tank, and planes such as small tri or bi-wing fighters and larger bi-wing bombers.
I recommend fighters staying near their bombers attepmting to keep in formation and tanks keeping together in small groups, ocasionally breaking off to scout for the enemy, though this isn't a rule that has to be followed most of the time.
logic blocks are permited and are recommended for use in multi-turreted designs such as the Mk I-V landship and Char 2C.
Edit: also gyros, auto aiming guns, or any of the new space update blocks are not allowed, the only exeption to this rule are the blasters, the large cannon, smart cannon, and gyro. The gyro can only be used in the heavier tanks.

The aiming blaster can only be on heavy tanks, bombers, or fighters.
The smart cannon can only be on heavy tanks, bombers, or fighters.
Edit 2: more limitations!
The lighter vehicles should be no heavier than 400 kilos, no more than 150 blocks, and no fastter than 45 MPH.
The heavier vehicles should be no lighter than 1500 kilos, no less than 300 blocks, and no faster than 15 MPH.
The bombers should be no less than 250 blocks, can only use the bombay unless there are gunner seats for other players, and no faster than 150 MPH.
The fighters should be no more than 150 blocks , can not have a bombay, only smart cannons and blasters are permited, and no faster than 250 MPH.
45 power cores for the bombers, 20 for the fighters, and 25 for the tanks.

Now try EMP airships/zeppelins, with the balloon cells held on by attachable blocks... or something a little more futuristic (same thing but with gimbal jets)

(This may not be possible but yeah and I know it’s been 7 days so this won’t get seen) Idea: have an aircraft with mini aircraft in it sort of like a drone that flys into your enemy’s air craft and explodes (If it’s not possible do the submarine battle thing you did but with mini car bombs)

Detachable blades ? scrap man? 0:20 I look at the photo and I hear this challenge. I’m beginning to think if you’re trying to knock people out of the sky, would help using EMP and helicopters best way to pull that off would have been detachable rotor and I specifically point out the rotors scrap man because then if you disable the rotor with the detachable block, all four or however, many propellers, you choose to put on your helicopter immediately come on versus doing the detachable block, individually propeller you could’ve even put the detached or block under the rotor if you chose to but that’s a fast way to do this challenge
Challenge idea : each player, make an air micro build, and a ground micro build. When the air one is destroyed, switch to the ground one. First player to kill both vehicles win the round.
This way we'll get air to air,air to ground and ground to ground fights.

I think the only thing missing is to have a battle in cars with detachable wheels
EMP demolition derby. Build cars with EMPs on them, but also require helicopter engines or gyroscopes oriented in every plane so that getting hit by an EMP has a chance to flip you over.
Is leaving behind parts part of the challenge? Otherwise setting the detachable blocks to Make Scrap will prevent them from damaging yourself
I had the same issue with it yawing for no reason when I built a chinook style helicopter. The reason for it is your rotors being at different heights. If they are instead both at the same height, then it will fly straight. why this happens exactly, i do not know.

You could try swapping vehicles and/or both using the loosing craft, at the end.
For one blades didn't have second detachable point. two should have set the detachable block to make scrap. so it didn't collide when it detached.
You should do a emp battle in space but all your controls are on detachable blocks
Scrapman's second detachable block was never even attached, the small wing only has one connection point on each side
ScrapMan should try Minecraft with Mods, so he could have vehicles and maybe custom vehicles.
You two need to collaborate on something. Build half a plane each, left and right, a cockpit each, each controlling only your own half and go do time trials?

You should do a melee fight but with aircraft. Like you have to ram the other helicopter/plane with yours to defeat them
emp detachable subs/boats, like the middle of the subs/boat will get 3 detachable pieces so the rounds don't go to quick but if all of them get taken off then ur vehicle will split in half
You should do a video where you get 2 people and have them 1v1 in a vehicle. BUT once they have built it they have to switch builds.
Could totally do a battle where you gotta destroy each other with a ball and chain attached to the back of your vehicle you use to attack
