BB you could be talking about literally nothing and i would watch you for hours! Bring on all the long vlogs! Loved this!
Yessss me too Love listening to you need some ASMR ! 🙏
You're so great, Jordaline. I use so many of your reviews to choose books for my TBR. Thanks so much for all your hard work!
I think that Paul Tremblay using this sort of metaphor or comparison between possession and mental illness works because it is such a long time occurrence that people think that mentally ill people are possessed so it’s not an out of left field idea and he raises the question of how that affects a person, as a mentally ill person myself sometimes I do feel possessed by something dark lol. I wasn’t put off by it when I read a head full of ghosts but to each their own!
LMAOOO "i'm jordaline!" i appreciate the cat content and your experience with these books. not gonna lie, you made me grin so much and i appreciate you for it.
is the 'not knowing what the ending is communicating' thing just a recurring issue for Paul Tremblay?? because that's exactly how i felt after cabin at the end of the world. could not figure out what i was supposed to get from that.
Omg the kitties in the box bit had me giggling so hard. The cutest thing I’ve ever seen 😻😹
Your cats totally stole the show in this video hehehe. The tabby looks so much like mine 😍
OMG the cats playing with the box were SO funny! Definitely going to read No One Gets Out Alive! Most likely the other 2 books as well! I LOVE your videos SO MUCH! I love that we get to see the books and hear your opinions and we get the bonus ASMR and the reading journal! Love you, bb!
I just got no one gets out alive !! And I'm so exited also I NEED that yellow chair
I just started following you and can I just say…in a world full of espresso machines, your drip coffee maker gives such vintage vibes!! I love it ❤
People don't talk about The Devil of Nanking enough - I still think about that book regularly. Maybe this is my sign to read it again too.
Great video! So sorry about insomnia, I know how that feels.
Your cats with that box 😹😻 has made my day!
Thank you for the mindful discussion on schizophrenia ♥️
I’m currently reading “No One Gets Out Alive” and I can’t wait to finish it to get to the points you mentioned! Also, I literally said “Money, no!” when he started climbing into the box I love hin
I bought The Devil of Nanking a couple years ago based off of your recommendation and still haven't picked it up yet but now I know I NEED to asap!!!
Love the times you said no one cares or this is boring I was interested! And your journal drawers is everything
Mo Hayder is QUEEN - love all her novels
This was a great vlog. I love watching these when I read :)
I love your vlogs...I enjoy seeing some of your journal.. hope you show them often..helps me. I like your cats too..Read on
Loved this. Going to put all of these on my kindle!
A Korean song...I'm Korean...Wow...do you like K-pop? That's so cool. Honestly I really adore every bit you speak...you're such a storyteller...I love it..
literally love the long videos!!!!!!! xxx
I loved this so much. Very spooky and chill. ❤❤❤❤ I love you Jordaline! ❤❤❤
Omg yes! Can’t wait!
I’m so ready
Do tell about Vasline Steve
Oooooh what was the song that was playing when you were getting your Starbucks?
Just leave your playlist bestie 😭😭😭😭 All these songs are so good
Loved the video, dear!
I hope you start making videos with spoilers as well. I’d like to know your opinions about the twists and plots of some of the books you’ve read 🙃
Hint … Take Valerian Root for insomnia. It’s a herb which is available at WM in capsule form.
Yes!! That old lady on the ceiling scene! That stuck out to me too. I’m not sure if you mentioned it, but did you watch the movie? I haven’t yet because I heard it’s not good, but I’m still going to at some point. I really want them to follow the book because I need to see those last chapters of part one played out on screen, but I know they aren’t going to do that. 😫
You’re really making me want to read No One Gets Out Alive bc of all the commentary on generational poverty and how women are often financially abused. I love an author that explores feminist issues. Thank you.
Girl! I lost my shit with those cats in the box 🤣🤣🤣
Thanks!
New Subscriber. Love your channel. You should use your mini journal for favorite quotes from the books your read 🤔
Not only is she smart and spooky and stunning, she's also a legit academic literary scholar & critic. Love hearing you talk about books 🖤🖤🖤
Also - I recently saw a book recommended called For the Sake Of by Judith Sonnet that I want to see you review!! I'm too much of a 🐯 to read it yet, but I want to see more reviews of it lmao
Guessed it! Not surprised at all.
A haunting would happen to a fellow Stephanie. Just trying to have a fresh start but nay nay
ASMaRt
I love how you drop Vaseline Steve as if anyone but like a dozen of us know who he is 😅
Does “no one gets out alive” have a movie now? I tried to look up more reviews and found a TRAILER ??? Is it the same thing ? Lol
I loved this vlog. I own The Devil Of Nanking but haven't read it yet. I also have a non-fiction book called The Rape Of Nanking all about what really happened. I haven't read that yet either but the pictures are beyond disturbing. I'm so glad you still love all these and I loved hearing your thoughts the 2nd time around.
wow loved this bb! a few thoughts 😂 first, I definitely was spooked by Head Full of Ghosts. I did interpret it as a possession novel. So the question about mental health representation, while totally valid, didn't resonate with me because I just assumed that the older sister, in fact, was not mentally ill at all and that society is the problem. but upon a revisit I might feel differently. for the devil of Nan king, I thin grey is definitely on the spectrum and has trouble reading the feelings of others. But yeah, she was definitely entitled. I thought it was so emotional and i ugly cried the last 25 percent of the book. 😂
Great vlog 📚😎💯👍🌈
It’s funny that the most uncomfortable parts of The Devil of Nanking were the low key transphobic comments about the nurse and the underlying grief message.
Have you researched Psychotic depression?
the way your cats have absolutely destroyed your yellow chair!!! lol the real cat owners/lovers will understand
😍
Need an ASMR channel of crafts. 😍
Also where’s Nico’s ASMR channel it’s what we deserve
💜🥰
You are beautiful and I will not hear this blasphemy about yourself. Shhhh. No shhh. You're stunning OK. I don't even do scary books and I'm here and queer because I love my Jordaline OK! I hope your sleep has gotten better darling. Kisses
If you want a horror/thriller that completely counters and calls out the harmful idea that people with mental illnesses are violent “The Lost Village” by Camilla Sten is so good in so many ways but especially with that
@@hahahahaha662 oof oopsie
Here to recommend the Nonfiction book by Iris Chang- The Rape of Nanking. It is EXTREMELY difficult to read and literally TW for every form of violence a person can do to another person. Very graphic as well.
Is this about Japanese soldiers & a Chinese village and what they did to the women?
@@krispy.reading yes. But it’s the women, children, men, literally any living thing in this village. It was an atrocity.
Unfortunately Paul Tremblay just isn’t for me as a whole. You’ve sold me on the other two though.
