I attend an SDA church, but there are many things that SDA believes that I don't subscribe to such as investigative judgment as it is clearly not Biblical and in all clear conscience before God, I cannot accept this teaching that is nowhere to be found in scripture. The book of Hebrews is clear that Jesus died for sin once and for all and He's ever seated to make intercession for us, not to judging us. Having said that though, since none of us is infallible and throughout history, great men and women of God have missed the mark on many things, I chose not " to throw out the baby with the bathwater" and returned to attend the SDA church after being away from it for decades, knowing that Holy Spirit led me back to it over 3 years ago. Going back was something I resisted greatly and for a long time. Having grown up in the church, I left because of legalism and the pressure to keep the Sabbath that I was made to believe was tied to one's salvation. It was after attending a Sunday church and listening to non- SDA preachers and teachers for many years that I really began to understand God's unconditional love and the message of grace and salvation through faith in Jesus Christ ALONE. When the truth of God's word flooded my mind, the legalistic, works-oriented mindset began to crumble and for the first time in decades, I was experiencing REAL victory over sin and the carnal nature and truly understood what a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with God through Jesus Christ means. I believe if I hadn't left, I would not have been able to fully understand or accept the message of God's love and grace because my mind was so works oriented and I may have been just attending church, but still as lost as someone who never set foot in a church. I had to step away to hear Holy Spirit for myself instead of all the confusing noise that sometimes comes with religion. Now I press on each day by the grace and power of God to obey and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Each of us needs to stay tightly connected to Jesus through the word, prayer, and obedience as this is the only thing that will help us to escape the deception in the world and see-through all the false teachings out there. " Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God."
So sorry for you never understood the SDA doctrine. We’re not legalistic. But it’s God’s love that compels us to obey His commandments and His commandments are not grievous. It’s a commandment of love reflecting His character and that includes the 4th commandment which He blessed and sanctified. It’s calls for rest from earthly labor but call for spiritual labor. Study well the SDA doctrine and pray God will lead you to all truths
@@CaseyLao We may not be as legalistic now, but when I was a child, it was very much so. Folks of my generation still joke about how you could wade but not swim on the Sabbath, and riding a bike was questionable. 🙄
Sophi Richman Fletcher sorry your folks didn’t really understood what it means to keep the Sabbath Holy. You were taught the do’s and don’t s . Read Isaiah 58:13-14. To add to my previous comment, Jesus Christ is not continuously being offered on the Cross Of Calvary in the past, present and future. Jesus Christ has made 100% full atonement. A brief explanation to ISAIAH 8:20 as follows: We read in ISAIAH 8:20 ( Paraphrased), If anyone does not speak according to God’s word , the law and the testimony , it is because there is no light in him or her . PSALM 119:105 tells us that God’s word is a lamp and a light to our path . In JOHN 17:17 , Christ in His prayer to the Father tells the Father that God’s word is truth . We read in TIMOTHY 3:16 that the whole scripture , GENESIS TO REVELATION , is inspired by God the Holy Spirit , THE THIRD PERSON OF THE GOD OF THE BIBLE . I agree that 1844 isn't Biblical. This final service as a Mediator started upon Christ's ascention after His resurection and not in1844 as SDA false teaching. Read Hebrews to understand it correctly, instead of listening to wrong sermons from I'll informed pastors.
How is the start date 457 bc when Daniel 8 says the desolation is after the kingdom of Greece which came in the 300 bc time. And it doesn’t say 2300 days it says 2300 evenings and mornings referring to the daily sacrifice. 1844 date is incorrect

Hebrews 9:23. "Cleansed" is in the Greek 'Katharizasthai.' A present passive infinitive which in Hebrews chapter 8, 9, 10 is a continuous action, or a present perfect in the larger context of Hebrews chapters 8, 9 and 10. Therefore,1844 is not Biblical.

Did Jesus not say that if they didn't change of their behaviors meaning these 7 Churches in the church; that he would remove Those 7 Lamp's as a consequence? I agree that we should always seek God, and seek His Truth. Its the purpose of studying the bible in depth, not leaning on mans understanding. With that said, this video is specifically about 1844 and as Noted by Mike Wallace, what is being present is impossible and is man making the Bible fit their belief. This is Not Biblical. We all Love God and we are not trying to argue a point, but point out errors in Biblical teaching... I would hope that someone would do the same for me.
Good message but unless you're already familiar with all the dates and timelines and the sanctuary specifically, etc, it moved pretty fast and maybe contained a bit too much for one sermon... Just my opinion and I am born and raised SDA with numerous prophecy studies along the way. I only came to understand the sanctuary message and meaning rather recently thanks to Ivor Myers. He broke it down so it made sense to me.

will Ott Hey friend, no one is saved by keeping the law. It is by grace through faith in Jesus. (Ephesians 2:8, Galatians 3:8, Acts 15:11) However Jesus does say if you love Him to keep His commandments. (John 14:15,23, Revelation 14:12, Exodus 20:6, Deuteronomy 5:10, John 15:10). I would find it doubtful that you would consider it legalism to not lie, murder, or take God’s name in vain. Obedience isn’t legalism it’s love. God bless you.

(Acts 24:14) Paul also says that we should be imitators of him. She concocted a fictitious story, a smoke screen, to camouflage the embarrassment of the event and her ardent followers brought it. But most scholars believe the prophecy is talking about a literal 2300 days. Some translations say 2300 mornings and evenings. They believe it is about Antioch Epiphanes and his desecration of the Jewish Temple and Sanctuary. He went so far as erecting Statues of Zeus and slaughtering sacrificial pigs in the Temple. The date that the Temple was cleansed has been well established as December 25 165 BC. If we count back 2300 days from then we arrive at the time when Antioch Epiphanes began his persecutions with considerable vigor 171 BC

I was especially hoping Pastor Doug would talk about how we were to move to the Holy of Holy place with Jesus Christ after 1844. Like how the people had put away all their known sins expecting His second Advent in 1844, and how they continually put sins away as new light came to them. Particularly the light of the Sabbath commandment that was in the Holy of Holies on the tablets of stone in the ark of the covenant. It matches up with how the Jewish priests had to confess all his known sins before entering into the Holy of Holies lest he would die. In Revelation 3 God opened the door into the holy of holies with the Church of Philadelphia, and the Church of Laodicea is supposed to be with Jesus there as he makes atonement and judgement. Those who are still in the holy place today are deceived. They have not accepted the 3 Angel's Message, which includes putting away our sins by the grace of Jesus. The best sermon I've heard specifically about that particular aspect is in Ellen White's book "Early Writings" in the chapter about the "Sanctuary".

@@samuelcalderwood1379 There understanding of the Sanctuary described in Hebrews and everywhere else in the Bible. Christ is our high priest, who ministers for us daily. Paul said, "I die daily". The imagery and facts of the Bible make it clear that justification is by faith alone. It is true that no one who tries to keep holy to obtain salvation will succeed. All fall short. By works it is impossible to be saved. "Faith without works is dead". Those who take the next step of sanctification do it because they love the Lord. What good is justification without sanctification? That is, what good is forgiveness without cleansing? Because a person is forgiven, they should continue sinning? Next time you are stung by sin, remember that God has called his people to holiness, to care for the fatherless and the widow, to be restored to his image, the faithfulness and humility of Christ our Lord. The altar of sacrifice represents the cross where Jesus shed his blood for us. Jesus freely gives the water of life, like the woman at the well, like the laver of the sanctuary, to cleanse us from everything we ever did. The rest of the sanctuary represents the way in which we are restored to glory, first by washing with water, then by the bread of life, prayer for needs and direction and by sharing with others. The sanctuary is described as being only for those who are "ashamed of everything they ever did." There is assurance of salvation only at the cross. Every day the cross should be contemplated. But asking forgiveness every day without repenting of sin is like offering sacrifice without obedience, without turning away from the sin. Eventually a person who refuses to acknowledge the need to overcome will also turn from the Lord altogether. I encourage you to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit who moved the writers of the Bible to say, "be ye holy". God is holy.

I am watching your video with intrest as allways. What an intresting subject. I just want to clarify one thing about the theory evolution. It's a theory and doesnt stand up ( i am refering to the macro evolution , the one from one cell to us). It can't for example explain ower thoughts wich are immaterial, and the dna limitations that make it impossible to jump from one species to another ( primates to first humans) etc. I came to one conclusion, that the Word of God is Truth and in one way or the other will allways emerge to the surface. No prophet prophesied the event - many throughout the world saw the fulfillment of the prophecy and God covered the understanding of the prophecy so that they would get ready. The reason why the Millerites were successful in theirs preaching was because they believed the coming of Jesus was imminent. The reason the apostles were successful was because they believed Jesus coming was imminent. If we believe Jesus comes soon we will see TRUE revival and reformation on our lives and those around!

Daniel's 2300 year multi point prophecy that played out like clockwork ended in 1844 and ushered in the last church age in Rev. which means ''the judging of the people''.

Doug Batchelor, you are a good speaker and knowledgeable but on the subject of the Heavenly, and actually earthly sanctuary too, you know very little. Nothing prophetic happened in 1844. SDA doctrine in that aspect is wrong and non Biblical. The Day of Attonement was the cross. Read the book of Hebrews, end of chapter 4 to chapter 13. Especially chapter 9.
These are some rhetorical questions: Do you believe that Jesus was the Messiah? Do you believe that He was the sacrificial Lamb? And that He fulfilled the various ceremonial laws which were observed at the sanctuary? I am sure you do! Then have you thought about those ceremonies that He fulfilled: of course he is our Passover (Paul Already said that) so that was fulfilled on that faithful Friday afternoon at exactly the time of the Evening Sacrifice. Then the waving sheaf and first fruits were 3 days later when He resurrected - along with the first fruits (Matt 27:52-53), then Jesus walked the earth 40 days and told the disciples to stay in Jerusalem 10 days and pray because on the 50th day after the resurrection was the day of Pentecost. That was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit! All happened on time as the Lord gave the ceremonies as a type and they were fulfilled as the Antitype. Therefore as you study you need to ask when and how was Yom Kippur fulfilled - the most important day of the year-the Day of Atonement.? Even if 1844 doesn’t make sense to you - but have you thought about the fulfillment of what I went through as a description of what the Bible explained already?

However, not every antitype follows the type to the last yod. Are you saying that as Yom Kippur was some 6 months after Passover, it follows that the antitype Day of Attonement must have happened some 6 months later (minus 5 days), so 175 days in the very same year AD31. Where is your 1844? Btw, Jesus did not die exactly on Passover, but during the week of the Passover feast. Not so important, but since you calculate exact days... Say, we apply the day=year principle, that does not exist in the Bible but the SDA really like it, it would be 175 years after AD31, so the heavenly day of attonement would be AD206??? Where is 1844? Still not good... So lets twick the math and principles a bit more and apply 10 years for 1 day (why? There is no such principle in the Bilbe, but who cares?As long as we can prove out faulty theory to be true regardless of the evidence. ) 1750 years, still not enough, Add another 63 years and hey , presto, since AD31 we can arrive at 1844, which is exactly as per the early pionieers of SDA and continuing the same lie for over 175 years....It would have been much easier to do as William Miller ultimately did - admit to a grave error and move on. Sorrry, brother, but this is not how one can read the Bible and interpret it, if one wants to be true to Scripture and God. In order to understand the Sanctuary services , both in the earthly tabernacle, as well as in the heavenly, one has to forget everything that SDA teaches on the subject, open the Bible and read the verses as they are.

Every object and every service was to represent Christ in His ministry for saving the fallen world. SDA says that there must be two compartments in the heavenly sanctuary. Some adventists, who are a bit more intelligent, agree that we cannot apply inch for inch and foot for foot measure and compartments in heaven. For example, the late Samuele Bacchiocchi, who agrees with other SDA scholars that there aren't necessarily two compartments in Heaven. Indeed, reading the Bible, it is easy to see that there are no compartments in the heavenly temple. Not compartments are important, but what those compartments on earth were teaching us about heaven and salvation. The earthly temple teaches us that before Christ , the way to God was shielded. We needed an intercessor and when Christ came , he opened this way for us. SDA teaches that blood transfers sin. The Bible says the opposite: blood is the life, it is for atonement. Lev 17. Blood does not transfer sins and does not keep record of sins on the veil, contrary to what SDA teaches. As you can see, SDA starts off on the wrong foot. Yom Kippur was the day of Judgment, according to SDA. The Bible say that it was the Day of Atonement , when people were made one with God. Atoned for from their sins, once and for all (in that year. What followed was a mere repetition of the same services year after year). SDA teaches that Jesus had to go through the exact same path in heavenly sanctuary as in the earthly. First in the Holy place and then in the Most Holy place since 1844. This is not Biblical. Paul says in Romans and Hebrews that Christ died once and for all and sat down on the right hand of God as our great High Priest , having obtained eternal salvation for those who follow Him. The services in the Holy place showed that people eagerly awaited their salvation through Christ, day after day. Yom Kippur was representing what will happen when Christ is actually revealed on earth. SDA teaches (well, they borrowed it from others well before them, but nevermind), that the scapegoat represents satan. Very wrong! Very wrong. The scapegoat represents Christ, who bore our sins and took them away from us never to return to the holy camp , just as the goat to be slaughtered represented Christ who was slaughtered for our sins. Same Christ represented in all different sacrifices, animals, grain offerings, burned offerings, etc. All rituals all representing Christ working out His Atonement for us. SDA teaches that since 1844 Christ has been doing Investigative Judgment to find out if those who claim to be His followers are truly so, but there is no basis for such a theory in the Bible. There is no Investigative Judgment. Not since 1844, not now, and will never be. There will be Judgment of God who will reward the saved ones and punish the lost one, the sheep and the goats. This is the Judgment that the Bible talks about it. No IJ. SDA cannot be further from the truth. The Sanctuary services do not represent judgment - it was all about atonement, salvation from sin, grace! When Jesus died on the cross, He was our true substitute. He atoned for our sins once and for all. We entered through His flesh, through the veil that separated the Holy from Most Holy place, in the presence of the Father. We are no longer enemies of God under the curse of the law, but we are atoned with Christ's blood and are now living in the presence of the Father where Christ entered for us to intercede for us as our High Priest. Salvation is secured, the devil is a defeated enemy. There is nothing that needs to be done in order for God's chosen ones to be saved from sin. Through one act of disobedience of Adam, we became sinful. Through one act of sacrifice of Christ, we were saved from sin. We are saved from the eternal effects of sin. Our reward is secured and will be given to us when Christ returns a second time. Very simple, very easy to understand. But only when you allow the Bible to tell you the truth, without muddening the water with fruitless conjectures from ill informed pastors and self proclaimed prophetes like EGW. God bless!
@@July-A7 my friend, you and I probably agree more than we disagree. The “Pattern” that was given Moses was the pattern in heaven. Who says it is inch by inch? It is a smaller scale of a pattern - it was given as a plan of redemption for man’s understanding. SDAs do not teach anything. The Bible teaches those who are open and searching. From Genesis to Revelation it is the Blood that atones and redeems is to make it possible for us to stand before God. We cannot stand before God - even after Jesus died - except through the blood of Jesus that he has shed - absolutely- once and for all! If you actually study Hebrews there are two words for sanctuary in Heaven - holy places and Holy of Holies/ Holiest of all. This latter one is in Heb 9:3 for example and it is hagia hagion - the same word repeated twice in the original. (See Interlinear and Strong’s concordance). But that’s only for those who are interested in the truth of what the Bible says. Think of the day of atonement like this: you are taking out the garbage everyday. Daily you clean house and you take it to your garbage container outside. But one day of the week you have the garbage man collect all the garbage. He will take from you never to be seen again. But if you do not get ready and take your garbage out for that collection day - guess what- you will be left with your garbage forever. You will not be cleansed of your garbage. Everyday Jesus (the priests doing daily ministration on earth) would bring a daily sacrifice (you as the sinner repented), but on one day of the year they had the day of atonement, prefiguring that one period of time Jesus will blot out the sins. Daily we confess, daily he forgives but one day he needs to Blot it out never to be remembered. And not only that but sin shall not rise a second time. Nahum 1:9. God will wipe out sin forever, Satan and his angels - root and branch - will be burnt up never more to be. Oh death, where is thy sting? (1 Cor 15; Isa 25:8) Alleluia!

I keep listening because of the various wonderful bible teachings offered. What I have a problem with is fixing dates to happenings. Dates in themselves offer no salvation. And no one knows the day or hour of Christ's return. Not even approximations. If I knew the approximate date a thief was coming e.g in 2 weeks, I would be vigilant in those two weeks

"Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?-unless indeed you are disqualified." I attend an SDA church, but there are many things that SDA believes that I don't subscribe to such as investigative judgment as it is clearly not Biblical and in all clear conscience before God, I cannot accept this teaching that is nowhere to be found in scripture. The book of Hebrews is clear that Jesus died for sin once and for all and He's ever seated to make intercession for us, not to judging us.
Having said that though, since none of us is infallible and throughout history, great men and women of God have missed the mark on many things, I chose not " to throw out the baby with the bathwater" and returned to attend the SDA church after being away from it for decades, knowing that Holy Spirit led me back to it over 3 years ago. Going back was something I resisted greatly and for a long time. Having grown up in the church, I left because of legalism and the pressure to keep the Sabbath that I was made to believe was tied to one's salvation. It was after attending a Sunday church and listening to non- SDA preachers and teachers for many years that I really began to understand God's unconditional love and the message of grace and salvation through faith in Jesus Christ ALONE. When the truth of God's word flooded my mind, the legalistic, works-oriented mindset began to crumble and for the first time in decades, I was experiencing REAL victory over sin and the carnal nature and truly understood what a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with God through Jesus Christ means.
I believe if I hadn't left, I would not have been able to fully understand or accept the message of God's love and grace because my mind was so works oriented and I may have been just attending church, but still as lost as someone who never set foot in a church. I had to step away to hear Holy Spirit for myself instead of all the confusing noise that sometimes comes with religion. Now I press on each day by the grace and power of God to obey and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. Each of us needs to stay tightly connected to Jesus through the word, prayer, and obedience as this is the only thing that will help us to escape the deception in the world and see-through all the false teachings out there.

So sorry for you never understood the SDA doctrine. We’re not legalistic. But it’s God’s love that compels us to obey His commandments and His commandments are not grievous. It’s a commandment of love reflecting His character and that includes the 4th commandment which He blessed and sanctified. It’s calls for rest from earthly labor but call for spiritual labor. Study well the SDA doctrine and pray God will lead you to all truths

I agree that we should always seek God, and seek His Truth. Its the purpose of studying the bible in depth, not leaning on mans understanding.
With that said, this video is specifically about 1844 and as Noted by Mike Wallace, what is being present is impossible and is man making the Bible fit their belief. This is Not Biblical.
We all Love God and we are not trying to argue a point, but point out errors in Biblical teaching... I would hope that someone would do the same for me.
Good message but unless you're already familiar with all the dates and timelines and the sanctuary specifically, etc, it moved pretty fast and maybe contained a bit too much for one sermon... Just my opinion and I am born and raised SDA with numerous prophecy studies along the way. I only came to understand the sanctuary message and meaning rather recently thanks to Ivor Myers. He broke it down so it made sense to me.
Thanks for reference....attended SDA, large city churches, for several years. Read EGWhite ony own....still struggle to understand the sanctuary message, but after sojourning through Judaism and Messianic a little easier to understand. It is by grace through faith in Jesus. (Ephesians 2:8, Galatians 3:8, Acts 15:11)
However Jesus does say if you love Him to keep His commandments. (John 14:15,23, Revelation 14:12, Exodus 20:6, Deuteronomy 5:10, John 15:10).

I was especially hoping Pastor Doug would talk about how we were to move to the Holy of Holy place with Jesus Christ after 1844. Like how the people had put away all their known sins expecting His second Advent in 1844, and how they continually put sins away as new light came to them. Particularly the light of the Sabbath commandment that was in the Holy of Holies on the tablets of stone in the ark of the covenant. It matches up with how the Jewish priests had to confess all his known sins before entering into the Holy of Holies lest he would die. In Revelation 3 God opened the door into the holy of holies with the Church of Philadelphia, and the Church of Laodicea is supposed to be with Jesus there as he makes atonement and judgement. Those who are still in the holy place today are deceived. They have not accepted the 3 Angel's Message, which includes putting away our sins by the grace of Jesus. The best sermon I've heard specifically about that particular aspect is in Ellen White's book "Early Writings" in the chapter about the "Sanctuary".

By works it is impossible to be saved.
"Faith without works is dead". Those who take the next step of sanctification do it because they love the Lord. What good is justification without sanctification? There is assurance of salvation only at the cross. Every day the cross should be contemplated. But asking forgiveness every day without repenting of sin is like offering sacrifice without obedience, without turning away from the sin. Eventually a person who refuses to acknowledge the need to overcome will also turn from the Lord altogether. I encourage you to listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit who moved the writers of the Bible to say, "be ye holy". God is holy.

It's a theory and doesnt stand up ( i am refering to the macro evolution , the one from one cell to us). The reason why the Millerites were successful in theirs preaching was because they believed the coming of Jesus was imminent. The reason the apostles were successful was because they believed Jesus coming was imminent. If we believe Jesus comes soon we will see TRUE revival and reformation on our lives and those around!

Nothing prophetic happened in 1844. SDA doctrine in that aspect is wrong and non Biblical.

These are some rhetorical questions: Do you believe that Jesus was the Messiah? Do you believe that He was the sacrificial Lamb? And that He fulfilled the various ceremonial laws which were observed at the sanctuary? I am sure you do! Then have you thought about those ceremonies that He fulfilled: of course he is our Passover (Paul Already said that) so that was fulfilled on that faithful Friday afternoon at exactly the time of the Evening Sacrifice. Then the waving sheaf and first fruits were 3 days later when He resurrected - along with the first fruits (Matt 27:52-53), then Jesus walked the earth 40 days and told the disciples to stay in Jerusalem 10 days and pray because on the 50th day after the resurrection was the day of Pentecost. That was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit! All happened on time as the Lord gave the ceremonies as a type and they were fulfilled as the Antitype. Therefore as you study you need to ask when and how was Yom Kippur fulfilled - the most important day of the year-the Day of Atonement.?

However, not every antitype follows the type to the last yod. Are you saying that as Yom Kippur was some 6 months after Passover, it follows that the antitype Day of Attonement must have happened some 6 months later (minus 5 days), so 175 days in the very same year AD31. Where is your 1844?
Btw, Jesus did not die exactly on Passover, but during the week of the Passover feast. Not so important, but since you calculate exact days...
Say, we apply the day=year principle, that does not exist in the Bible but the SDA really like it, it would be 175 years after AD31, so the heavenly day of attonement would be AD206??? Where is 1844? Still not good...
So lets twick the math and principles a bit more and apply 10 years for 1 day (why? Earthly tabernacle : was built strictly according to the design that God gave to Moses. Every object and every service was to represent Christ in His ministry for saving the fallen world.
SDA says that there must be two compartments in the heavenly sanctuary. Some adventists, who are a bit more intelligent, agree that we cannot apply inch for inch and foot for foot measure and compartments in heaven. For example, the late Samuele Bacchiocchi, who agrees with other SDA scholars that there aren't necessarily two compartments in Heaven. Indeed, reading the Bible, it is easy to see that there are no compartments in the heavenly temple. Not compartments are important, but what those compartments on earth were teaching us about heaven and salvation. The earthly temple teaches us that before Christ , the way to God was shielded. We needed an intercessor and when Christ came , he opened this way for us.
SDA teaches that blood transfers sin. The Bible says the opposite: blood is the life, it is for atonement. Lev 17. Blood does not transfer sins and does not keep record of sins on the veil, contrary to what SDA teaches. As you can see, SDA starts off on the wrong foot.
Yom Kippur was the day of Judgment, according to SDA. The Bible say that it was the Day of Atonement , when people were made one with God. Atoned for from their sins, once and for all (in that year. What followed was a mere repetition of the same services year after year). SDA teaches that Jesus had to go through the exact same path in heavenly sanctuary as in the earthly. First in the Holy place and then in the Most Holy place since 1844. This is not Biblical. Paul says in Romans and Hebrews that Christ died once and for all and sat down on the right hand of God as our great High Priest , having obtained eternal salvation for those who follow Him. The services in the Holy place showed that people eagerly awaited their salvation through Christ, day after day. Yom Kippur was representing what will happen when Christ is actually revealed on earth.
SDA teaches (well, they borrowed it from others well before them, but nevermind), that the scapegoat represents satan. Very wrong! Very wrong. The scapegoat represents Christ, who bore our sins and took them away from us never to return to the holy camp , just as the goat to be slaughtered represented Christ who was slaughtered for our sins. Same Christ represented in all different sacrifices, animals, grain offerings, burned offerings, etc. All rituals all representing Christ working out His Atonement for us.
SDA teaches that since 1844 Christ has been doing Investigative Judgment to find out if those who claim to be His followers are truly so, but there is no basis for such a theory in the Bible. There is no Investigative Judgment. Not since 1844, not now, and will never be. There will be Judgment of God who will reward the saved ones and punish the lost one, the sheep and the goats. This is the Judgment that the Bible talks about it. No IJ. SDA cannot be further from the truth.
The Sanctuary services do not represent judgment - it was all about atonement, salvation from sin, grace!
When Jesus died on the cross, He was our true substitute. He atoned for our sins once and for all. We entered through His flesh, through the veil that separated the Holy from Most Holy place, in the presence of the Father. We are no longer enemies of God under the curse of the law, but we are atoned with Christ's blood and are now living in the presence of the Father where Christ entered for us to intercede for us as our High Priest. Salvation is secured, the devil is a defeated enemy. There is nothing that needs to be done in order for God's chosen ones to be saved from sin. Through one act of disobedience of Adam, we became sinful. Through one act of sacrifice of Christ, we were saved from sin. We are saved from the eternal effects of sin. Our reward is secured and will be given to us when Christ returns a second time. Very simple, very easy to understand. But only when you allow the Bible to tell you the truth, without muddening the water with fruitless conjectures from ill informed pastors and self proclaimed prophetes like EGW. God bless!

If you actually study Hebrews there are two words for sanctuary in Heaven - holy places and Holy of Holies/ Holiest of all. This latter one is in Heb 9:3 for example and it is hagia hagion - the same word repeated twice in the original. (See Interlinear and Strong’s concordance). But that’s only for those who are interested in the truth of what the Bible says.
Think of the day of atonement like this: you are taking out the garbage everyday. Daily you clean house and you take it to your garbage container outside. But one day of the week you have the garbage man collect all the garbage. He will take from you never to be seen again. But if you do not get ready and take your garbage out for that collection day - guess what- you will be left with your garbage forever. You will not be cleansed of your garbage.
Everyday Jesus (the priests doing daily ministration on earth) would bring a daily sacrifice (you as the sinner repented), but on one day of the year they had the day of atonement, prefiguring that one period of time Jesus will blot out the sins. Daily we confess, daily he forgives but one day he needs to Blot it out never to be remembered.
And not only that but sin shall not rise a second time. Nahum 1:9. God will wipe out sin forever, Satan and his angels - root and branch - will be burnt up never more to be. Oh death, where is thy sting? (1 Cor 15; Isa 25:8) Alleluia!

1844 doesn't fit specifically in the text of Daniel prophecy, but symbolically you can say anything you want as a preacher to change some people, But a teacher must be precise as much as possible in interpretation of the text and context of any literature and that should apply to the Bible.

Jesus is not all the characters in the context of Daniel chapter 9 ,but the covenant that was made was with Daniel people and a different character, not messiah Daniel 9:24-27

I keep listening because of the various wonderful bible teachings offered. What I have a problem with is fixing dates to happenings. Dates in themselves offer no salvation. And no one knows the day or hour of Christ's return. Not even approximations. If I knew the approximate date a thief was coming e.g in 2 weeks, I would be vigilant in those two weeks
