    what do you think about the sunrise silver mirror lens vs the amber? I have a pair of green lens which i love , but need a lens for the cloudy days / early morning and sunset situations.

      Honestly I've been wearing the Sunrise silver a lot lately on our heavy overcast days and they are awesome. If I only had one pair though it would be amber or green mirror (a derrivitative).

      @@LocalKnowledge so amber is good for sunrise / sunset & cloudy days?

      The amber lenses are more of a light blocker than the sunrise silver. Sunrise silver is really helpful for those low light moments where amber is more of a color enhancer. I believe the official number is 17% light emissions on the amber lenses, where as the sunrise silver is 38%. I could be off so don't quote me to close lol

      I generally use the green mirrors offshore because we have a lot of overcast days here also. If it's really dark out, the sunrise silver is awesome. But If I had to pick one it's def green mirror. Hope it helps.

    Costa doesn’t make an amber lens in 580. Its copper. Splitting hairs maybe but there’s most definitely a difference between the two colors. The old 400 lenses did have amber.
    Cheers

      I thought the 580G green mirror is an amber base. I could be wrong

    • @tomdavis8757
      @tomdavis8757 Před měsícem

      @@treyfisse8593no sir. It’s a copper base (Costas words not mine.) Similar to amber but with a bit more red. The application is similar as they are both high contrast lens colors. It boils down to personal preference. Everyone’s eyes are different so there’s no “hands down” better color. I believe the confusion stems from back in the 400G days the green mirror lens did have an amber base but the introduction of the 580G they went to a copper base.
      Cheers

    Would that third one be considered the copper lens?

      Copper. We do like Sunrise Silver on our super overcast days though!
