To clear certain things up about the functionality of the glasses, Viture has asked me to pin this comment.
1. The 3DoF can't be used at maximum brightness, and the lagging is because of this. The glasses themselves offer a basic 3DoF feature, which is ok to use, and the neckband will offer a fuller experience when the 3DoF feature is released.
2. The neckband allows customizing the screen size and moving the screen, even shrinking to the corner.
VITURE mainly targets Steam Deck, Switch, PS and Xbox remote play users, but they value all the users cases mentioned here and are working to offer a better experience for these cases
Thank you so much for the review, for making these clarifications, and for being fair and honest in your video - the XR Glasses' 3DoF feature is still a beta version, which is nice to have without any accessories, but we're working on perfecting it on the Neckband!
You're right that we're mostly focused on improving handheld console experiences and making on-the-go play available to console players, but we love seeing new and creative ways to use VITURE One that we haven't previously anticipated - we're glad that you were able to get your MiSTer working and enjoy some classic games in XR. 😎

I’ve seen people talk about these a few times and appreciate the honest review, focusing on where they fail instead of just plainly stating they’re good at the thing they’re advertised for. I hope 3D content is improved in the future

Now if only we could get haptic gloves to feel like using PS2 DualShock controllers and make everything affordable somehow...
3D seems to be one of those technologies we still struggle to get right like cold fusion.
LG got it right a long time ago with their passive 3D on their TVs. I have a basic IPS 4K LED from 2014 and LG 4K OLED E6 from 2016 (even the glasses are compatible between both TVs) and it's amazing on both, especially on that OLED. Most people just had the wrong TV. The magic bullet is the light-as-feather passive glasses with no need for batteries and zero flicker and 4K 3D TV resulting in no resolution loss on 3D movies.
3D belongs with VR and nothing else

Stereoscopic 3D would be my #1 reason to buy something like this. I hope they eventually get it right, specially for PS3 gaming content.
RPCS3 has a 3D option that works great with XR glasses like these, Rokid or XReal. Dolphin and Citra also work in S3D. The Geo-11 tool for modding DX11 PC games also works great with XR glasses.
@@OneUp7 I’m not familiar with RPCS3 yet. Could you elaborate on RPCS3 just a little?
@@joshuahelmeke it's a PS3 emulator for Windows and Linux. It's a little more complicated to setup than the 3DS or Wii/GameCube ones. For 3D, you'll have to enable it in RPCS3 settings, enable stretch to screen, boot the XMB and run the display setup and set the display size to the smallest. Steam Deck is able to run some games this way, but the frame rate can drop a good bit.

Coury, you nailed this review. The simulations of what you were experiencing really helps to understand the shortcomings of what the gaming community would consider practical use cases.

I don't have any retro consoles, but I did play a lot of games on my Switch and Steam Deck wearing these glasses. They are freakin awesome! The image looks super sharp!

I got a cheap Rift S a while ago and with a pairing of Virtual Desktop and Reshade, you *can* get games to run in stereoscopic 3D, it doesn't even take much more processing power on top of the game you want to run and honestly it looks great. Can be fiddly to set up, as per *any* usage of Reshade, but totally worth it if you're alright having a clunky monitor on your head c:

Once the 3D kinks are worked out.... AND we get parallax 3D MiSTer cores (ala 3DS 3d classics), I am buying this with a BRIDGES-branded backpack power bank connected to my MiSter. MiSTer Stranding
A quest would run you cheaper and it already works.
I own the Viture One. The neck band makes a huge difference in what he is showing it even has own interface with the neckband
It literally allows you to play or stream what ever you want it literally your portable theatre just think your in the dr. office waiting your turn waiting there for 1 - 2hrs you literally just pause what your doing and there you go only catch is you need some form of connection or use your phone hotspot or bring it portable plug in play
Reminds me of the old ads I used to see, when you could a pair of tv glasses for the ps2/GameCube/Xbox days.
They also work really really well as a portable secondary monitor for a laptop.
This is probably the only way I would feel comfortable working on a laptop in a coach seat on an airplane. Bring it!

I got a similar pair of glasses(Xreal). I really enjoyed using them with the Steam Deck. I do agree that 3D can be a pain to work. Also this really helped me out when I had a bad neck and couldn't really look at a regular tv comfortably.
Do you still use/like your Xreal glasses? I’ve heard people complain the right arm digs into their ear..

I really like how you were not just talking about what you saw, like most reviews out there, I think that with your examples you were able to give a better description of how it would feel to have them on. However, I gotta say, the ps3 3D stuff didn't even crossed my mind while thinking about getting this type of glasses. I just think I could really benefit from having a portable screen, since I travel quite often and I've always been curious about having some type of setup to watch stuff in bed while I'm laying down. Gaming of course will be really nice. I feel that the xreal air 2 might be what I get, since they cost about the same for what I want, but somehow seem better

I doubt you would cover this topic, but any chance down the line you could make kind of a video dedicated to the original xbox revisions. The OG Xbox reddit community is very alive. And where always debating and questioning all the 4 or 5 revisions and differences. So as you probably already know the og xbox had 3 different type of video processors. It would be cool to see an in depth especially on what constitutes a better image on the 3 especially when it comes to rgb or ypbpr. Till this day there is still so much love for the og xbox when it comes to real hardware, especially since its not the easiest console to emulate for. Idk why its my favorite console especially for all the options in softmod and hardmods. thx u for the videos
Great video, Coury. A fun coincidence, i just won a pair of Xreal Air glasses on reddit, and they arrived today. This product seems significantly more mature than the xreals, and i'm SUPER jealous of the diopter adjustment. I just put in an order for some prescription lenses for my xreals :(

To be honest, i don't trust diopter adjustment. I tried Rokid one before. I never got the diopter perfectly right. I prefer classic solution with actual lense.

Keeping an image locked to your face is an insane idea. The kind of idea that is soo obvious for anyone paying attention to VR the past 7 years that you can't help but think this entire product is a scam of some sort. Like really honestly you should never look at an image stuck to your face. it will make most people sick. The image needs to stay at a fixed point somewhere in space like a real television which I feel like they could do with some internal sensors. It wouldn't be as amazing as some sort of external tracking, but at least it would be something.
Yeah the image following your head is not desirable at all. I've had this happen when using VR headsets and it's just not good.
I assumed the screen was locked to a real world position. If it's not, I agree; the $400+ price point makes no sense. Plus, screen pasted to one's forehead seems purpose built to cause nausea.
No, not really, HMDs outside of VR have been a thing for a long long time

hello, is there a way you can use it in a real life, like it can (point or arrow) were you go like in a video game or it have a mini map to locate you car when you park it or it show you an image of a parts of equipment if you want to check it quickly or it can explain an information about medecal and material or help you cooking and gardening, or at least a program for this aoolication. and think you for the video

Seems that the HDMI port isn't reporting a 3D capable display when they are in the 3D mode. iirc my (Theater) 3D capable monitor from 2011 only reports one 3D resolution (1080p24), and you have to connect HDMI to get it. LG provided an OEM copy of TriDef, a software overlay providing live 3D frame processing to work around the limitation on PC, but that basically locked casual use down to just movies. The current 3D mode of these glasses sounds exactly like how it was achieved before the 3D craze started taking off, so hopefully they can get a firmware update out for the adapter that doesn't require some crazy licensing to report the 3D capabilities, which would make it considerably easier to use on 3D capable appliances that aren't PCs.
I wonder if the PS3 through component and the Retrotink 5X would make a difference.
Interesting, was wondering on them, price point is kind of scary unless they are PERFECT. It does not seem like they are if you do retro gaming and everything else.

Where this technology truly should shine is in the desktop computing space. I long for a day that I can have a device dedicated to supplementing or even outright removing physical monitors from my workspace. A device that provides persistent tracking over a desk. That allows you to create as many monitors, notes, and apps as you like within that space. It's been done, it is doable. Why aren't any of these companies taking advantage that??

Fascinating stuff! I did si.ilar with my PS VR since it has an HDMI in, and it was kinda cool but yeah, very limited since the virtual screen can't be adjusted easily like it can be on a real PS4 or PS5

Super interested if a DisplayPort to USB-C then a USB-C to female USB-C adapter would have worked for your gaming PC.
Not typically, unless there's power injection in there somewhere. DP to USB-C usually assumes that you're getting power on the display from another source

[Coury] Ex Zodiac. It’s currently Steam only and is in early access with new levels being added every couple of months. It’s incredible. Classic Star Fox, but it also has levels inspired by Space Harrier and Burning Force, with some Panzer Dragoon style lasers mixed in. It’s really, really good.

ehhh i mean tbh, VR headsets and stuff also have thjose similar diopter adjusters, it's not unique. seems like it honestly depends on what you a) want from a pair of these vr/ar/xr headsets/goggles and b) how you want to use them AND c) your personal requirements (i.e. glasses and prescription types). I can see someone who has like sliiiight vision issues wanting the manual adjusters but if you need hella vision correction, it might bee a hassle. also, apple's vision pro dont seem to have the manual adjustment, for comparisons sake.

[Coury] Ex-Zodiac. Its only on Steam and in early access right now, but its amazing. Theres been a level added every couple of months, some of which are star fox inspired, some are space harrier inspired and even burning force inspired.
