Thank you so much for this comparison. I own the Kiyo Pro but can't stream with heavy lighting due to migraines, so I'm definitely going to buy the Ultra since it looks to handle minimal lighting even better than the Pro.
Very clear (no pun intended) that the pro ultra is superior but for something that is $300, I would hope so. I just purchased the Kiyo Pro given is was $95… for a third of the price and the purpose (mainly for zoom at work), I think it should be sufficient.
A couple notes. As of the recording of this video, Razer Synapse hadn't been updated, but a rep commented in a previous video that an update improving the UI and stability should be rolling out. Secondly, the release order was actually the Kiyo, Kiyo Pro, Kiyo X, then the Kiyo Pro Ultra. The last comparison I think I need to make for now is vs the Insta360 Link.

I do not know what is the reason for this, but watching your poroeoaniei almost everything more I liked on kiyo pro. Colors, sound, probably only the depth of field speaks for the Ultra version.

As a business professional, I want a good looking picture with appropriate lighting but I also want good aoftware that works well on both my personal and my work laptops and a Mic that I cam rely on without having a diatracting mic in front of me, which is only really typical when working with engineers. For these reasons, I think the MX Brio is an all around better performer even though the Razer seems to have naturally better image quality.
The Ultra is better in every way except the mic. The mic of the pro is a pretty good upgrade from most of the normal laptop mics. So im a little disapointed that they downgraded it on the ultra. It was a nice addition for video calls.

It works great for recording but in teams calls i had the problem that the mic created soundloops ( the other person heard theyre echo all the time) so i use the kiyo pro with its mic and the people are happy with the sound. (I still have to suffee from their terrible laptop mics. :D) So maybe its an adjustment problem with the rode mic but right now the kiyo pro works really great as a whole with video calls.
Just got my Kiyo Pro and realized it has zero of its functions on my Mac. I've watched a bunch of reviews before buying, but never heard anyone say there's no mac support. Am I the idiot here?
Not really. I'm guilty of this too obviously, but a lot of software reliant tech products just get reviewed by Windows users. I didn't even realize Mac users can't control ANY webcam through OBS until my brother (Mac user) told me recently.
K I got the kiyo pro. In the main thumbnail image for this video, what tripod(s) are you using? I need something compact like that also. Also is there a compact tripod option for the kiyo pro that I can connect an rgb/regular ring light to also?
One is the Insta360 Tripod. Just search Amazon for the Insta 360 Link and there's a bundle with the tripod. But you can buy it separately. It's pretty mid imo... The other one is from the Fifine K670. It's the best portable stand I have, but you can't buy it separately and it doesn't come with a ball top. As for a ring light, not sure how you'd put a ring light on a tripod that small but maybe it's possible.
Brilliant! Man, I love the ultra. My only issue is that synapse doesn't work with a Macbook. I know I can use the Webcam Settings app, but it lacks most of the options in synapse. Do you know of any other work arounds? Thanks!

Hello Badintent! I need your help. I am looking for a very good webcam for streaming. I'm a DJ. So I move and dance a lot! So it is important that the camera has smooth images and does not stutter. I feel like the Kiyo Pro is a good choice, but the BRIO is good too I guess? But which one is the best in terms of smooth movements?
@@KUKIgry I'll have to check all the settings when I get home, but you can definitely lock the shutter speed to 1/50 which is a kind of jank workaround. If it wasn't so tedious, I'd count frame by frame to see what the actual FPS is when set to 60.
How do you have the mirror video option on your synapse. I'm using the Kiyo Pro and it's not there. Also missing a lot of those settings. Is this exclusive so the Ultra?
I *hate* 24ps, only film nerds like it, and bless them for keeping it old school. They also add film grain filters to their digital video so they can be "authentic." Well aren't they special. 🙂
On the regular kiyo pro, with the monitor clip, does it tilt downward? I have a smol desk with a dual monitor arm, both monitors are up higher then my eye level because I have the razer nommo speakers and I need the monitors higher then the nommo's height... I dont have much room on desk for a smol tripod... so I'm definitely wondering if once clamped the regular kiyo pro can tilt downward at all?

Hello, great review as usual!! The only thing I miss is the chroma key, will be great to see how to perform that 4k cam on the chroma key. Maybe can do a short for that? I don't think you have plans to do a full video for the chroma key only lol. I send a message form tw to you, hope you see that.
Do you have an example shot? The Kiyo Pro seems to have a very strong built in noise reduction filter. I've never had a grainy image with it even in terrible lighting, but it always looks soft.

For someone like me that doesn’t know how to create a settings. Something more specific to how you get to the settings would be helpful.

No Mac support for Synapse 3 is worth mentioning. This is a Windows only webcam unless you are ok with the default settings and no adjustments.

It's the Elgato Wave DX. Not sure of any tripods with ring lights that you can put on a desk.

My menu in Synapse doesn't have as many options as yours and it's laid out differently. Am I missing some advance setting button somewhere?

Pro is causing the redness. Ultra is more realistic.

Yeah the entire menu is different with the Kiyo Pro Ultra.

I didn't actually buy them separately. One came from the Insta360 Link webcam and the other is from the Fifine K670 microphone.

Yeah I don't think I've had any webcam actually fail at a chroma key before honestly, so that's why I don't include it anymore.
