- "Sparkling Watermelon" depicts the story of a boy living a double life between a model student and a band member who gets to time slip and meets his 18-year-old father.

I legit cried shitload of tears while watching the finale . Man the drama was really an emotional rollercoaster and yi chan's acting in the last episode was top notch .

true the only questions I felt lacking were what happened to grandma and what happened to the lead girl...maybe Yi Chan telling his son something that lets him know he knows who he is....that to me would have made it absolutely perfect.
I'm still confused why Yi Chan(as an adult) can't speak. Or refused to speak?

This was such a good Drama!!!! Thanks for making my Mondays and Tuesdays happy. This drama will be in my memories for the whole live, might as well watch it a million times again. Everything from the plots and the characters, how it made me cry and smile all the 16 episodes were just perfect.

I loved the last episode, it was full of emotions_an emotional rollercoaster. I loved how they indirectly showed us that yichan( grown up) had realized that eungyeol was that one who made his youth twinkle. But still something was missing like it felt a bit incomplete to me. I felt that the ending was a bit rushed. I wanted to see how chungha and yichan got together after yichan got deaf. Plus it's sad that they didn't show any scene of (grown)chungha and yichan together in the future like they were one of the main characters of the story. Plus I didn't like how the drama ended on just eungyeol and eunyo, I mean they should've ended it on all four main character: chungha and yichan should've been in end scene:'( or I would even be happy if the the drama ended on just eungyeol and yichan as the drama was more based on their story rather than the story of eungyeol and eunyo. The whole series were amazing, even the last ep was mind blowing but they just messed on the ending which kinda ruined it for me otherwise I loved it. 9/10⭐
They always do like this they always write and execute screenplay phenomenally but they rushed the ending which either ruins it or make it less satisfactory.

I really did not find the ending satisfactory i didnt want yi chan to be deaf. i love the message they tried to portray but i js dont think it was a good ending, his goal was to avoid the accident he did everything but that.

It was not rushed it was from en gyueol point of views things are new to engyeol and for us too that's why it looks kinda rushed but explained everything and I want season 2 too but with same cast

In my opinion, the ending wasn't really rushed, but I believe there's quite a bit of screen time that got cut off, like there should be 10-15 mins of screen time that explain how Yi Chan could move on after the accident (just a couple seconds is not enough), how Yi Chan and Cheong Ah could be together (her father sent her to study abroad), how Yi Chan and his friend stay in touch, how Se Kyung family situation got resolved. The ending is perfect, it just that I felt a small piece of it got left out
I cried and cried. It was an okay ending. I think the fans wanted more interaction between him and his dad in 2023. And, more of a conclusion of what happened in the past, after he left. It was obviously rushed in the last episode.
Nice ending that our two runaway kids reunited in the present. I was half worried our ahjumma would have made ahjussi mad in the future also 😂

So sad it's ended and I wasn't ready for that😭😭😭 I feel like it's kind of a sad ending because Eungyeol wasn't able to save his father which is his main mission in going to the past. But I love how it changed some parts of their parents lives like the band stayed together even though yichan is now deaf, cheongah got to get closer to his father, and eunyu got to talk to her younger mother🥹 I love how it ended with Eungyeol and Eunyu meeting each other again in the real world❤ Overall, the series is quite unpredictable but in a fun way although I didn't really expect Eunyu to get stuck in the past cuz she already met her mother and I gues all she wants to do now is go back to the present and be with Eungyeol🥰 Twinkling Watermelon is offically my new kdrama not just of the year but of all time🫶🙌👏

This was too short of an ending. there are so many things that were not explained...the ending felt very rushed.
But it was an overall good drama. LOVED IT very much.

I feel the last episode is little bit rushed. I mean it doesn't give many answers like how her father agreed for their marriage. Why they didn't recognise the lead actor when he come back to the present time as they shared very very special moments with eachother at very beautiful time of school.

I honestly want to see Eunho's pov now, i expected more of him in this season itself but now i wanna see more of him....maybe next season or a few long nice satisfying and complete special episodes, im sure he also has had some happenings in his life too, also how they got so rich and adapted to live that life, maybe Eunho gets a lover, his relationship with his parents, maybe some friends, his feelings etc.

@@qamar1776 it's a realistic happy ending that fit their message. Having Yi Chan not deaf. Mean that its disabilities that weigh him down. By having him still disabled but achieving the success he had at the ending it was never disabilities that stop him rather it was his own insecurities and lack of support from friends and families.

Ugh I don't care if people say it's a good ending, it's not 😭😭 Like just give us the damn explanations, it's no fun giving us just a glimpse of what happened. Some people are satisfied by that but like how tf. My Perfect Stranger has such a satisfying ending. Provided us with alot more small moments after they went back to the present and had no bitterness left over. If the author wants a "this ending is realistic" typa thing IT SHOULDN'T BE REALISTIC. 😭 I'm so mad that I wrote a long ass comment 🤣

+eunyu probably knows the la vida master is her grandpa bc she saw his old pics in the magazine of his band or she could just guess it, grandpa made them time travel bc he probably blamed himself for both eungyeol and eunyu's suffering so he wanted them to find eachother and be happy
tbh they answered almost all of my confusions so im satisfied with the ending

@@_shreya_18 Yi Chan and Cheong Ah went to same college. Gallaudet University, USA for deaf people. Cheong Ah's father paid for his education. You can see this detail in the magazine which Eun Gyul reads later. And about the female lead, you can simply assume things from the conversation she had with her mother and grandpa viva.
I really wished that everyone including yi chan's friends should have recognized him!
Just finished this drama 9:20 a.m. U. S, 11/16/23. This was one of the BEST feel good dramas that I watched this year. It almost made the tears roll(I was strong and held it in). This is another one that I would need to be made and produced in Korea with the same entire team(cast, director, screenwriter, etc..), and ran into the ground with 10 seasons like they run shows in the ground over here.😄😆I’d watch it until we saw all the main cast lives evolve with their children’s children(y’all know how we run shows into the ground over here). This was and is worth the watch. I’ll go back to Viki and leave a review.
If he only lost his hearing ability why didnt yi chan speak when his son came back to present time...i didn't understand its ending.
If you do not hear yourself speaking it changes the sound and pronounciation of your words...it sounds not like normal talking...and so he's not talking ...😊
If he will speak then his son has to do sign language for him to understand that will be more complicated....it's better for both to use sign language to understand eachother more better i guess that is the reason ❤️

I believe that the ending is not the best but still better than i expected. I wonder how they will give a closure to this amazing drama, and i am satisfied. Even though i wish to know more, but still eungyeol is the main one here, and other's stories are up to our imagination. And this is what i think about eunyu. I believe that eunyu's parent are not divorced, because when eungyeol went to eunyu's house, she didn't live there. From the original timeline, i think segyeong move to korea and built a house there after the divorce, but in this new timeline she didn't live there, and this means that they are still in US, and the divorce didn't happened. And from eunyu's look, she looks happy and satisfied, and I'm sure that all went well for her too. They are all shining much brighter this time and that's what matters ♡
I think lots of people were confused how did gets to meet Mr Viva again when he is a boy coz lots of things changed. I guess if it’s meant to be it will be. Like his dad accident didn’t happen when it was supposed to but it still did just different timing. He couldn’t stop it.

I had hope , i had fucking hope that he won’t lose his hearing again, something inside me knew from the beginning that he will lose it again cuz “fate can’t be changed” but i had this little light inside me that the writers cared for our fucking feelings for once , when he woke up while not able to hear anything i just couldn’t prevent myself from crying my ass off , episodes 15 and 16 were a fucking rollercoaster , the happinessi felt when they made us think that the accident has passed is indescribable , i just can’t believe after all this he lost his hearing again , it’s like I can’t accept it mentally, although his life after was really happy and beautiful , i still think the writers should’ve not make him lose his hearing again , u can’t convince me otherwise

Pourquoi une telle fin? Tant de questions sans réponse. Que devient la grand-mère de Yi Chan? Le groupe a-t-il présenté la chanson écrite en camp de vacances au festival malgré l'accident de Yi Chan? Oh Ma Ju a-t-il surmonté sa culpabilité car c'est quand même lui qui a poussé Yi Chan à sortir de chez lui alors que Eun Gyol avait fait promettre à OH Ma JU de rester aux côtés de Yi Chan. Et Cheong Ah et ses talents de dessinatrice dans le futur? Comment Yi Chan et elle se sont-ils retrouvés ? Et Se Kyung, s'est-elle réconciliée avec sa fille (Eun Yeol) et surtout son père ? Bref! Tant de questions sans réponse qui viennent clôturer ce qui aurait été le meilleur drama de cette année 2023. Ce drama reste néanmoins un coup de cœur ❤. Désolée pour ce long avis mais j'en avais gros sur le cœur 😅

my only comment here is the relationship of chairman and Ji Mi it was confusing whether the sons and daughters were actually the chairman's on the earlier episodes and whether Ji Mi was actually a mistress or wife. i think the writer was not able to convey that clearly
I think they're just JiMi's kids. JiMi is first hired as Chung Ah's tutor and a bit like a nanny and later on became the chairman's wife for whatever unknown reason. This made the chairman adopt her kids and add them to his family registry. I honestly wanted to know more and see more from ep 16 tho, kinda sad.

it's not easy for deaf people to speak when they can't hear their own voice. And with time he just stopped speaking. It must have been hard.
