I believe that Israel will reinstate a government for Palestine after they occupy it, and withdraw troops.
One other thing: when the UN divided Palestine and Israel, the Jews were reluctant to accept the unfavorable treaty, but they were happy to have their new homeland, and a place to build their lives, so they accepted. The Palestinians on the other hand completely rejected the treaty, and them (along with other Arab countries) protested to ensure that these borders would not remain. We all know what happened next: after the 6 days’ war, Israel decisively defeated them all and expanded their territory vastly. Anyway, the Israelis eventually agreed to give the Palestinians BACK some their land (also the Sinai peninsula back to Egypt after the latter agreeing to recognize Israel as a sovereign nation) after agreeing to an unfavorable treaty that the Palestinians rejected. (Screw nationalism XD) And it was a good amount of land, that extended as close to the coast (west bank) as possible that didn’t cut Israel in two that created less border gore…
Even after all of these events, Hamas STILL decided to try and destroy Israel many times, terrorizing it and as a result, Gaza.
Point is: Israel’s people (and government in comparison) is understanding, and forgiving. Palestine’s people are steadfast, resilient, and amazing as well. Both of them need to forget about the past by solving the issue that is favorable to the world. Not one group over the other.
P.S. I believe that the single-state solution would be best, if the government is willing to recognize both groups evenly.
P.P.S. Even a Federal system with Israel, Gaza, and West Bank would be better, to keep them distinct while allowing people to be a part of their own culture, and move freely between the districts.
