Redcat Ascent 18 Low cost Mods and Out Performs them all!!!

we did only 3 mods to the rig. We relocated the battery placement to up front, changed out the wheel and tires to RCAWD 1.3 Cyberwheels and mounted up Little Guy Racing Products Swamp King MT tires! I hope you enjoy the video, and you Like, Share, Subscribe, and BASH that Bell!

Great vid, LOVE the wheel and tires. I have quite a few crawlers at this point and the Ascent 18 is hands down the BEST out of the box mini crawler you can buy. With no mods this thing kills everything stock for stock and even some trucks with mods get schooled by the Ascent 18. All I've done so far is a set of brass wheels and some Injora sticky tires (forget the name at the moment)...SMOKES half of what I have in the garage, most of which is much more modded than the Ascent. BEST $100 you can spend in the crawler world.

Same here. I have 14 1/24 - 1/18 scale crawlers and this think ranks high on the list for performance. out of the box compared to the all the others, hands down beats them all!!! Thanks for watching!

I just got mine and did the same battery mod, works great but it doesn't allow the body to clip all the way which makes the body come unlatched a lot unfortunately. have you had that problem with yours?

The SCX24 is not even close to as good as the Ascent-18 is out of the box. The FCX24s, like the Ascent-18, are really good out of the box. I moved the rx/esc to the front, removed the battery tray and 3D printed a 1965 Ford F100 body to replace that ugly Ascent-18 body. Added different wheels and tires and the Ascent-18 is amazing, but it was amazing out of the box as well. Great value for the price!
