Literally never realized the coop elites were those characters. I just assumed they were random elites.
Are also in the novel Hunters in the Dark - recommended.
If you play the mission The Covenant with Blind on you wouldn't be able to tell your 3rd co-op partner from the random blue elites helping you
They kinda reminded me of the shipmasters crew
Same
Technically they are random elites
I swear Halo’s like the only game that actually BOTHERED to characterise players 3 and 4
I mean, only in expanded stuff
@@ereynolds72 no shit. Stop trying to invalidate his comment 💀💀
@@Aden_III Damn someone’s upset
@Owenboy360 man I replied to op in a really casual manner and it’s really triggering people. Also. Op said the only “game” to characterise players 3 and 4. In fact they were only characterised in the expanded universe outside of the game. It’s the only franchise to do it (maybe).
And if you’re gonna tell me to shut up again , do it in a fun jaunty manner. Be creative.
@Owenboy360 damn you must really love OP
So these dudes just went of on a D&D style campaign filled with monsters, betrayal, and redemption.
Pretty much
Everyone else "I didn't know these elites had names"
Me "I didnt know these elites even existed"
Right?
Me: "Why are they called elites if all they do is slash slash?"
@@dr.boring7022 because science. Nerd
We obviously only ever had at most 1 friend :')
@@dr.boring7022 because that’s what their role is and what the UNSC named them
Ohh, those Elites had names, I feel terrible now.
Anton Richter it took me 5 years to learn the arbiters name, though I was 8 when I first played halo 3.
@@Toddlerterminator hello Legionnaire, I do not recall why named Elites upset me, after all it was 2 years ago.
@@Toddlerterminator actually, I do recall. When playing Coop campaign in Halo 3, team killing was hilarious to do, and the number 3-4 players always ate dirt first.
I was wondering why Usze sounded familiar while reading the novels.
I thought I was the only one who rammed the Warthog into the ShadeTurret on The Covenant mission. I love doing that every time I run that mission.
I thought I was the only one too. Every one I know says that my methods are unorthodox or suicidal. XD Hiw can you play as Chief and not go hog wild with him killing enemies in awesome, hilarious, and dangerous ways. You ever tried making a Brute jump off a ledge when he charges at you after you knock his armor off just hy standing there until last second and side stepping? Cause I have. Its priceless. Just a word of advice don't try it on Gravity hammer wielding Chieftans. They will akways take you with them. XD
Ramming shade turrets are fun in this game and ODST.
I did the same with ghosts whenever I had them
Every time!
If you play the amazing halo ce mod called spv3.2 Usze is a character in the arbiter level, the Commander.
He as not been forgotten
I hope someone mods Linda or Noble six as the co-op character for halo CE (especially in anniversary mode)
@@chonkycacti5752 Six was dead and Linda at the time was floating in a cryo pod in space injured and not awake
It would still be cool though
@@Bmuenks31 would be into seeing Kelly instead
Next up: The lore behind co-op Noble Six
The Original Chef Boyardee he is on reach in a cave
I believe that player 1, is obviously Noble 6. But player 2, 3 and 4 and the 6th member if the other teams in Reach that have been wiped out
I always think that the co-op 6s are figments of his imagination kinda like reznov from bo1
don't you mean
N o b l e S e v e n
Those could just be other Spartan IIIs.
But I never played Halo Reach Co-Op. Can you play as other members of Noble, or are they only AI?
There needs to be a game based on this book, where we play as both N'tho & Usze in different missions, and any mission that has them both lets us choose between which elite we want to be.
That would be fun
Maybe in Infinite? They did say 10 years of halo infinite
Does anyone else love the idea that H3 was so story dense that even your third and fourth coop characters have names? I know H5 did this(but no splitscreen so...) but I hope that with splitscreen confirmed Infinite will do this as well
11:39 That starboard passenger has a shotgun. A shotgun, that fires spread, and has a short range, wielded by someone sitting on the side of a Hornet. Is that Jenkins???
Hey man what if its a slug and also like the 2500s
I miss getting as many friends as I can on halo 3 co op and just having
Halo 3 coming to PC can make that a reality again

God I need a game involving their story I feel like. It would honestly be super effing interesting based on what took place for them. Besides I'm a sucker for learning more about the Sangheili and their part as well as views after the war and them siding with humans. Honestly they remain the coolest videogame sci-fi species to date in my book.

Great video. Not much i can say, considering i never managed to play Halo 3.
A new video series idea- Redesign- basically, each video you pick a UNSC ship class or particular ship and talk about how you would redesign it.
Hopefully starting with the Longsword.

Arbiter was actually your big enemy in halo CE he was the fleet master so he was the highest ranking covenant guy in that game...
Halo Reach?
@@MisterJohnDoe considering there were also Brutes no there were mulitple commanders there.
Sheila olfieWay Thel had an excellent purple cape
Can you please do a video on the pseudo projectile weapons of the covenant?
Technically the needler was a projectile weapon as it used crystalline shards mined from a moon that orbited the Elites' homeworld. Don't know about the Carbine though. Basically the Brute guns were like alien versions of human weapons, mostly utilizing heated metal flying at high velocity but augmented using covenant tech.

@@Sanya6496 afaik the carbine is a miniaturized fuel rod gun
@@xalener Uhh no it isn't. First of all, the Fuel Rod Cannon is a man portable version seen on covenant vehicles and is implemented in a n anti-vehicle role. Second, the Fuel Rod Cannon that we wield from Halo 2 onwards and in Halo PC uses a plasma based incendiary gel that has a noticeable arc to it. The Carbine on the other hand is unusual as it is one of the few projectile based anti-infantry weapons used by the Covenant. The ammunition used by the Carbine seen in Halo 2, 3, and 3 ODST is a very specific "8.7×60 mm caseless radioactive projectiles" according to the Halo Encyclopedia. So no, the carbine and fuel rod are not even close.
@@Sanya6496 jesus fucking christ alright dude holy shit
I love the video, man. I had no idea these guys’ stories went beyond being a plot device for playing Halo 3 as cool-looking elites. I do have one suggestion tho: being someone who doesn’t read the books, it was very hard to follow exactly which elite you were talking about at any given time, given their hard to pronounce names. I think if you put pictures of them on screen with some minor animation, that could really spice up the video. Just a suggestion tho. Keep making great videos!
I have no friends so i had no idea these characters even existed
Wow...
Never knew those 2 had lore, new sub for that!
I low key thought they were just there for player 3 and 4 to play so they weren't just a copy paste of Arbiter or Chief again like Halo 2 and CE
Will you do a detailed breakdown on unsc ship mounted weapons, such as MAC gun, Naval coilgun Batteries, etc.?
I will. 😊
@@Installation00 On a related note, maybe you can figure out why the UNSC did not already employ advanced energy weapons before and during the Great War. Nobody else digs deep enough to find a good, detailed answer. This is stuff we know how to build at laboratory scales right now, so it's strange how absent they are in 500 years.
Given the technology available in the 26th century, powerful laser weapons should be pretty commonplace at warship scales. I know ONI had some pulse laser equipped prowlers, but that's still small scale deployment.
The same also goes for particle accelerator weapons. If you have fusion powered starships with large magnetic cannons, then you already have most of the technology necessary to arm them with particle beams (Maybe hydrogen NPBs?)
Even stranger is why they did not employ more makeshift workarounds to counter the Covenant's firepower advantage. Considering the UNSC's enormous arsenal of fusion weapons, the absence of single shot bomb pumped x-ray lasers is puzzling.
These two deserve more credit than they receive, as do you. Your content stands out from most other lore channels greatly. I'm glad Eck recommended you. 👍
Anyone else think that player 4 should have been an ODST?
I think it'd be super neat that if players not hosting in Infinite were regular marines/ODSTs with the health/movement stats to match.
It isn't like me and my friends would bitch at each other in Halo 3 over who would host to be Chief anyways lmao
An ODST couldn't flip vehicles, they would have to be a much smaller model, it would mess with a lot of stuff. That's why we got a whole game to be them.
@@daggumnametaken I mean leave it as a game, just have em slightly lower. Getting shot once and just dying would suck. Think how in ODST there was "stamina", like a shield but not as strong. I think it'd reinforce how tanky chief is meant to be given how awesome this rendition of him is. Maybe have the host playing as chief not use healthpacks but they're still scattered around the map for the joined players.
@@Just_Chizzin Never happen, a full new health system in a game just for the coop players, wouldn't be a thing. That's a lot of effort for a system that makes it harder on some players than it is for the others.
@@daggumnametaken Oh for sure man, not everything is practical. I just think it'd be neat.
I was always wondering what happened to the boys. Last online 11 years ago...
I can't get past you saying the names. haha!
I have brought great shame upon myself and dishonoured my lineage.
I never played the campaign with more than me and another (brother or dad), so had no idea about these two for a long time. But these two should have been in Halo 5, and they could have then had interaction with Vale and Osiris.
Instead of the current halo 4 and 5, there should of been a game based around the sanghelios civil war or UNSC/sanghelios joint missions
I wouldn't mind playing as Thel again. Get his perspective on things.
Halo 5 did have some missions on sanghelios with the whole civil war going on. They’re honestly my favorite missions in that game
Fun fact, I believe it was J’tho who was open to the idea of humanity joining the covenant and openly asked a fellow elite why they were fighting humanity instead of letting them join when far less technologically advanced and weaker species (grunts and jackals for instance) were allowed in.
5:12 What was that?
I think he says "no thank you"
Rey Zephlyn yeah that caught me off guard
"a-thank you"
And hey, bro, I was a grunt and I am kind of obsessed with guns. Most of the stuff in your gun videos about the UNSC, also taking into account that this is fiction, is good but I can definitely help you when it comes to a lot of gun related stuff. And also about infantry, combat-related things like modern Doctrine and whatever... Let me know if you want a hand with any of that kind of stuff. I would love to contribute if anything just to make sure things around the edges are at least real world to lore accurate
doctrine, I assume, would change after 27 years of fighting the covenant, and decades, if not centuries, of counter insurgency
LMAO considering that the UNSC arms its personnel with Kinetic small arms, and they're still driving around in what are essentially less armored Humvees, I think it applies LOL do you have any idea what you're talking about?
@@nuclearjanitors yes, because 1990's era sci fi (when halo was designed) definitely means tactics never changed at all, and interplanetary warfare will be *exactly* the same as war in a single country
@@EthanThomson what was your MOS and where did you deploy?
@@nuclearjanitors not really sure what relevence that has to tactics that would be used after 500 years of inssurection, and 28 years of war with aliens, considering both would change tactics entirely
tactics from WW1 change entirely to WW2, WW2 to vietnam, vietnam to afghanistan
what works today probably wont work 500 years later
I was first introduced to Halo and console gaming with Halo 3. Since then, I have read the original trilogy, the Fall of Reach is a personal favorite of mine. I found this channel a few days ago, and by God is the content incredible. I REALLY enjoy the Halo universe, and I'm so glad that I came across a channel that goes into excruciating detail about the Halo Universe. I wish you the best of luck and I hope that your channel absolutely blows up in popularity. Keep up the good work.
Since you've done all that, have you played CE and 2 with OG graphics? If you haven't, it's quite the experience, especially on heroic for both games.
Rudra Mazumder I do own CE. 2 i played recently, even the OG graphics looked incredible. Well. The cutscenes at least. Huge improvement between CE and 2.
@@Da__goat At least you aren't bitching about how it isn't "1080p so the graphics suck" or something
Rudra Mazumder a truly great game doesn’t need the best graphics. They help get the point across, but they never were a requirement, at least for me. That’s why RCT2 was also a great game
Ah, yes...More prime content from a prime individual.
Y U H, BRO.
I found out they had names back in 2009 in Bungie forums which made me really proud I went through all hell as Usze in my first playthrough. Still attached to the character today that I hope one day we see the whole original 4 player coop gang again.
Chief
Arbiter
Ntho and
Usze.
Another excellent video, I-00.
I love the Austin powers ah thank you. Very nice touch. I love all your videos keep up the good work.
It never occurred to me to ask who players 3&4 were and if they had lore, I never even played 4 player co-op.
_Now can we talk about the cyborg? How and why?_
I remember when I was a kid I would stand up while playing copying all the moves from master chief and when Johnson died I cried for a month this game was a big part of my childhood even tho I I didn't like the newer version of halo my love for it is still their now a days I retreat back to halo reach, ODST, and classic halo on the Xbox original
3:30 Ramming the shade turret? Did you steal this footage from my 2009 Bnet File Share?
In the years after 2007 I remember checking Halopedia year after year, digging for any info on these two Elites. Thanks for finally bringing me some closure Installation 00
I just call them Blueberry and Raspberry .
Hes refering to the book- Halo Hunters In The Dark
The full book is on youtube. Would recomend. Goes into great detail about the 2 elites. It also talks about Olympia Vale (from halo 5) awesome book!

Hey installation 00, love the Chanel and content, I just watched your video on Halsey potentially controlling Cortana. And I was wondering if you could do an in-depth video on her, as in my opinion, she is one of the most interesting characters. Also what do you think that it is possible either med bias and spark could show up in infinite?
I find one thing interesting, the elites decided not to fight a group of wolves, that's weird becuse realisitcally even the average elite could probably kill thousands of wolves in combat with their bare hands or sword
Just goes to show how deep Halo lore is, I hope to see these guys when MCC drops on PC and people start playing H3 on Coop
Man i only want 343 to release side missions in dlcs like

or Idk thats all i could think
Can u do a video on energy weapons used by the UNSC?
This un named team of the chief and these 3 elites were cooler than blue team and fireteam Osiris combined.
How often were these two elites even present in the events of Halo 3 though? Isn’t the solo playthrough technically the actual canon?
Just a question but after 14:45 what rendition of the halo theme is that? It sounds different than the generic halo theme
I think it's from H2A
NoNameFound it’s the Halo 3 End Credits
I use to try and keep all my soldiers alive so when you got a warthog i would arm them with a laser, fuel rod gun and missile launcher depending on the stage. It was hard since you had to pickup drop carry those weapons lmao what a waste of valuable time lol
I did not even know that the elites in 4 player co op had names
I want an ODST or Reach style spin-off game with N'tho and Uzse. Maybe Rtas could also be a character in it.

I think we all do.
Isn't there a fan ship called vale x usze?
Nice
I'm curious, what books is the content you discussed in this video from? I'd like to read them.
Hunters in the dark for sure
So I have a question about Spartans, with all their genetic augments does that make them sterile, and if not could 2 Spartans naturally produce another?
Jayce Valkarian They’re not Sterile. It’s a common misconception. The augmentations affected their sex drive, making it very unlikely they would engage in romantic or sexual relationships. Mind you a Spartan-II, Maria-062, Is currently alive and presumed to be living on earth with her family which she retired to spend more time with.
Always wondered what happens those 2 after the events of halo 3 didn't know names either to be honest I wonder if they'll make an appearance in halo infinite

I have random question, do you think the idea of a AI based on the human mind is vesible? I believe so, think about it the human brain is like that of a quatom computer. So the idea is to base one ( a quatom computer) based on a human brain. Also build the computer around a binary core translator, that would translate data going in, and out of the quatom computer. Witch once translated in would be sent to a system that would act ocordingly to the program, or data. Now how would you create such a quatom computer, based on a human mind to begin with? Well I would say get the volunteer to first get they're brain 3d scanned by a irmi mechane.( Didn't spell that right) scan the brain activity, then up load it to a computer folder, and once the volunteer dies. Collect they're donated brain, and build a ladar microscope that can 3d scan brain cells 1cm at a time, if not then a inch at a time. Create a 3d model based on the 3d scan of the brain cells, and brain activity scan. Then combined them, then of course build a quatom computer based on the cell scan, then program it on the brain activity scan.
Damn am I tired it's hard to think, also if I told you in person I could probably say it better than that, but it's something... Also electro magnets would be great protection from radiation, and more we work on it we could event more crazy stuff by playing around more with magnets.

lol to open the portal all you need is flint n steel
Uh...sir. The Arbiter, Current one, Thel 'Vadam. He was around in the Books and was in the lore behind the scenes commanding the Fleet that chased down the Pillar of Autumn. He was on the "Seeker of Truth". Blamed for the destruction of Installation 04 by the Humans. Though instead of being executed. The Council gave him a chance to redeem himself by becoming the Arbiter.
So he has always been around. Yet no one cared about the names of the countless Elites players mowed down. Monsters. All of you. (So guilty. I am on trial for countless War Crimes.)
Ever time I play halo I try to never kill a eilte
I’m what missions were they canonically present
I still lean to dodge hahaha
Reach was the best no competition
I'm appalled that you can pronounce Sanghelios correctly but not Sangheili.
1:36 Sangheili
4:06 Sanghelios
I thought Spec Ops Sangheili that used the standard combat harness were purple? And if the Halo Reach and CEA Spec Ops combat harness are still used by Elites what about the Assault harness? What’s it used for?
Assaults
TheRedHawk422 So essentially a better version of the Storm Elites? And I thought Spec Ops wore standard harness in purple not dark blue.
I think according to the description in Halo 3, the assault harness uses a design that was forbidden during the time of the covenant. Now the Elites have rediscovered them. Not really all that different than the standard.
Rudra Mazumder Ok so they’re like a better looking standard combat harness?
@@PackHunter117 The ranks our a bit different in halo 3, but yes the purple spec ops combat elites are still a thing, and the assualt harness just provides extra protection, and is supposed to scare the enemy.
