Singing FOR THE LOVE OF GOD with STEVE VAI in Kolkata

- I've been working with STEVE VAI for almost 200 shows in 55 countries around the World as Sound Engineer. But there's a cool story that led me to joining him on stage for singing his most successful song EVER: "For The Love of God". So I've been hitting some of the best stages of the World with him not only as a Sound Engineer, but as a singer for about 175 shows. It's been one of the coolest (and unexpected) experiences in my life. This video was shot in Kolkata (India) on the 9th of December 2023, which was the last show of the "Inviolate Tour". That moment was so emotional: during my performance I got into tears and my voice went out of control a couple of times. The crowd from Kolkata was amazing and the local crew "Friends of Shiva" did a great job.
The video was shot from my phone, Fire Vai´s phone, Carlos Arellano´s phone, and my beloved mirrorless camera.
The audio is a rough mix that I did ongoing during the show.
I will be eternally grateful to Steve, band and crew for this amazing tour.

Dani I’m not gonna lie, when you sang on "For The Love Of God", I honestly think you brought that song to a height it has almost never reached. The voices of you and EVO/FLO merged together so magnificently that you, Steve and the guitar channelled the meaning of the song in a way it has never been delivered before, a cautionary statement on the contrast on what all religion is meant to be and what radical followers can turn it into, and unfortunately this irony Steve wanted to project in the song has become a chilling reality. You brought words to a lyric-less song in what may be perhaps one of the most difficult times humanity has suffered. To me that's no coincidence, and it's also no coincidence that when I heard this version with you, the song awakened me more than ever. I know I'm going off on a tangent, but I had to say this stuff. Just...well done Dani, amazing job on all of it. Our world is extremely lucky to have incredible souls like Steve Vai, but he's incredibly lucky to have had you on this tour. And it's brilliant that he recognised your talent enough to invite you to join him on performing a song delivering a message that now matters more than ever...
