    Nice comparison.. Just remember base magnification of roughly 3 will be just as clear with a 384 as a 640 1.6 at 2X digital zoom. Choose your base magnification for your hunting situations wisely. We’re hunting not watching H D Television.

      Thank you. But I can’t help but believe I’m hunting while watching hd-tv and want the clearest image possible. And sometimes the weather conditions are just not right. I’m just trying to put it all out there for people to make a wise unbiased educated choice on a very expensive scope. Thank you again kind sir and have a blessed day

      High Impact ok thanks that’s good to know , I have the new Thor LT, I like it but it’s sensor is only 160, I doubt it has an update but I’ll check. I’m debating getting the newer Thor 320, but seems like the Thor 384 1.25-5x will be the same price and it would seem the 384 sensor will still be better then the newer 320.

    Nice to see an honest review/comparison. I've had a 384 for a couple years. Have been wondering how much better then 640 was and if it was anywhere close to a halo lr. Seems like it doesn't come close to a halo, but it's half the price. Do you regret not just spending the money that you spent on the 2 atns on an nvision or trijicon?

      Derick Lebron no I do not have any regrets. I have a wife and 3 kids so thermal can get really expensive really quick. I would rather everyone in the family have one opposed to one expensive one to share. I’m sure they are nicer ones out there but these suit us very well

    I was a cheap ass and bought the Thor LT 160. Don't waste your money; save up for the Thor 4 640. It's the plain Jane of the Thor Thermals. It's probably good for up to about 200 yards. The digital zoom is shit and doesn't go in increments like the other scopes.

    • @tomking2030
      @tomking2030 Před 3 lety +5

      Yup, I just got a 5-50. What I will say is don't go to Amazon and just buy it. I took 16 months to buy mine. The price changes every single day. It maxes around $4,800, then it drops down $100 bucks every day and eventually it goes down to $2,900. Then all the sudden it resets back to $4,800. I googled around for a company that monitors the price and emails me when it reaches my price point. So I got mine for around $3,500 with taxes. Then next day I check Amazon and its back to $4,800
      Which the HDMI I hooked up a Atomos Ninja 5 so I can record in Pro res and everyone around me can see what I'm hunting.

    4.5 power 384 will have about the same resolution as a 2x 640 when zoomed in 2x. 4.5 is not good for shooting close because of narrow field of view. If you're hunting yotes go higher mag, pigs lower mag.

    I just got a thor 4 640 1-10. I cant see anything out of it. Its pretty terrible at times. The only thing that even slightly gives visibility is the rainbow setting. It has huge permanent dead pixels, at least 50 percent of it is dead pixels. Its god awful, i dont think it could make out a rabbit at 7 yards

    • @Chris-uo3rj
      @Chris-uo3rj Před 8 měsíci

      @EuropaTheLastBattle.net__ i have. Maybe it's certain temperatures? I know it's quality sometimes is amazing and other times its hard to make anything out. During cold winter with high winds it can be really hard to make anything out. But on warmer nights it can seem pretty clear. I bought a odin lt 640 and it is waay more clear than my thor 4. I think my thor not only has some blemishes but for some reason also lacks the clarity my odin has, or is effected by inclimate weather harsher. Like, can't detect a heat signature at 50 yards bad. But on other nights can see easily out to 500 yards or more. So idk
