- Using my Go Pro to film my batting innings during a friendly village cricket match against Kamloops Cricket Club in Canada. The match was 30 overs a side that included the fastest bowling I have ever faced. What did you think of the game?

great batting man. just a couple advices, this is coming from an opening bowler. if i were to bowl to u, i noticed that u have a tendency to go for the wide deliveries and it would make me bowl outswingers to fish for an edge. For this reason, i recommend u leave more deliveries for which u have to reach. only play the deliveries that come to you. since you are an opening batsmen or a top order batmans u must stay at the crease because ur the backbone of the team. ur defence is good but reaching for deliveries that are not worth it is whats going to get you dismissed. secondly, i noticed is you are not playing the ball under your head. it seems slightly out of control. and this may seem hard but the golden rule is to not force your bat into the ball. let the bat swing down at the ball like a pendulum. and i dont mean like completely let go of the bat. i mean like dont muscle it. keep ur front elbow high and maintain that shape throughout your on ground shots like drives and defence. that comes from dominant top hand and the bottom hand as support. this induces timing and control and removes any erratic shots which could get edges or chops on or even misses. finally when running between the wickets, turn ur body towards where the ball has gone on the field. this allows u to see the field as u run and form better judgements about when to go for doubles and singles.
again these are just suggestions but ur the owner of ur own game and you should play how ur comfortable.
Mate thank you so much for this feedback it's greatly appreciated. To be honest it's something I have been conscious of for a while now and haven't really had the time to work on it. But it was really obvious in this match wasn't it? Just reaching out too far in front my pad and nose. I think the biggest indicator is the bat keeps turning in my hand when I'm swinging big. What I don't understand though is that it must mean by bottom hand is coming in to play too much. But it doesn't feel like that all the time and when I'm playing close to the body everything is a lot smoother, elbow is higher and I play the ball under my nose. What do you think?

Nice batting!
Thanks Byron, it was difficult to score this match. Not too many bad balls but I also swiped at a lot of wide ones.
Great video and match.
The pitch and scenery looks awesome. Keep up the great matches on the field and content for youtube.
Thanks buddy. Working hard to get one or two more match arranged this summer. Possibly going to be around August and September.
@@alpinecricketer Nice! Hopefully those matches go well.
@@sggtv3 It would be great to finally get our first win
@@alpinecricketer Ill keep your team in my prayers. Lord will you guys can get your first win.
Yay 300 subs mate, more to come for sure!
Thank you mate, hopefully many more. What did you think of the game? (This one not the ashes, it's too soon)
The game was pure cricket. It's honestly better when you can watch both the keepers view and the batting view
@@FlarbetsCricket thanks mate our keeper has been pretty keen to have the gopro on. If only we had more spinners in the team though and you'd see more action. The videos are still a working progress but glad you're enjoying it. Do you play much cricket yourself ?
@@alpinecricketer yeah mate! Every Saturday, I captain a team of half lazy bums and half keen cricketers. Still haven't won a game after 5 (one day) games and 3 (two day) games, but still enjoying the fun side of cricket. I'm happy that I finally got to raise the bat for the first time though and I get to do it twice with a 50* and a 69!
@@FlarbetsCricket Sounds like my kind of cricket that does. Never played a 2 day game though, what is that like? Congrats mate, bet the averages looked good after them!
well played boyzz!!!
Thanks mate! Onwards and upwards.
