They have THE CHEMISTRY that is rarely seen between characters on screen. I`ve fell in love with this show simply because of this. Great writing, even greater acting.

The characters and the chemistry they have is amazing, extremely well directed. Both are gorgeous, and hard to deal with: it´s the reason they understand deeply each other. But there are some questions...Each time I see I discover different details, isn´'t it? I guess the keys lay the finland culture. And so on...well, Karpi e Nurmi deserve to be together, yeah!!

I just finished season 3 and I loved it! oftentimes I find myself upset for the endings but this one is all I could've ask for. I watched season 1&2 months ago but now that 3 came out I decided to watch them from the beginning so I could have it fresh in my mind. Totally worth it. I must confess, them not being intimate was a let down as the chemistry was there! Love this series!

I personally read on the channel's page about the series that the TV series KARPPİ, namely DEADWIND, has an agreement with the YLE ARENA channel until March 31, 2026. In other words, there will be sequels of the movie.
It feels genuine because they didnt like each other initially they gained each others trust and attraction.

I found the article that states the end of Deadwind and Season 3 being the last one. But as the article states, the series was originally planned with three seasons in mind only. Netflix only acquired the broadcasting rights, so they can't typically kill the series if it does not belong to them.
The series was extremely successful on local TV, but there is no telling how well it has been received outside of Finland, or Scandinavia.
A lot of the series I liked never get past the third season. There must be something about the triptyque way to do things.
But who knows if Yle TV2 may not want to produce a sequel. The major issue is always the same in those series. The actors sign a deal for a salary for a number of episodes. If the show is successful then they want more money.
This is what happens in so many shows that get killed.

Peltola-hahmo joutui vankilaan Karpin aviomiehen kuoleman aiheuttamisesta, kuten kukaan ei odottanut. Hennan täytyi ottaa selvää ja lopettaa äitinsä syyttäminen. There are so many! I am not convinced there will be no continuation though. Here's some of my favorite, not all Scandinavians: "Entrapped", "Bordertown", "Marcella", "Capitani", "Young Wallander", "Undercover", "Fauda", "The Valhalla Murders", "The Chestnut Man". All of them have some kind of bromance or romance intrigue between partners.

There are inconsistencies regarding Nurmi's character in the parts of the Deadwind script. but before diving into the mine in the lake where the nuclear waste is located, he got out of his car under the rain, rubbed some drugs into his mouth and spit out. This is an inconsistency. In the 3rd season, while he was offended with Karppi for 1.5 years and he was still working as a police officer, he confessed to Karppi again that he and 17-year-old Nea messed with his head in a nightclub and that Nea had stolen drugs from him. Why was Nurmi depressed at that time? Why did he distract himself in the nightclub in the swamp of alcohol and drugs? Nerve pain can't be the cause. The person who should be in the main depression is Karppi, but he never lost himself, he did nothing wrong. He did not seek solace in alcohol, drugs or men. He acted very mature and with character. While he was on good terms with Nurmi, his stepdaughter Henna was imprisoned with intrigue. His son was given to his grandfather. Why are you saying that "you won't get to see these two again"? they are investigating together in Season 3, and the end let's us believe they will still continue their duo in Season 4. Obviously, their relationship is also evolving, and while it has been slow and subtle, I can't wait to find out where the authors are going to take them.
Since it is Scandinavian minded, I am prepared for everything as we could be deceived. I have already decided what is going to happen, but I know I am going to be proven wrong since it would be too obvious.

Also, the scenario brought the story inside the story with Henna. I expect this is going to continue in Season 4. She is now becoming a side protagonist in the series. I believe there is going to be further incidence in the future.
Either she will work as an undercover, or she may turn into full blown crime life.
As for Emil, I am uncertain on how his character is going to evolve.
I am also convinced we are going to see some deception with Nurmi, since we know he is sick. I wished they had kept his BMW rather than the new geeky Porsche.
what they meant by that sentence, is that there won't be season four. so we'll never see them again... it is sad but it is true. i don't know why some non-finnish articles give us wrong information. because in every finnish article, including yle's articles (deadwind is yle original series) it's been said season 3 is the final season of deadwind..
Wish we'd see them again, but it's doubtful. I love the pacing and tone of this series. In addition to watching their emotional and physical relationship deepen, I also would've liked a few questions addressed.
I agree with you about Henna, and Leo.
As for Nurmi, is he hypoglycemic? Seems to be. He obviously has a history with drugs, as a user but more than that. I surmise that he was undercover. He is way too familiar with the culture, the players, the way police deal with them. A good example of this is the way he handled Matilda ( the woman he questioned about Leo); he recognized and helped the drugged out girl they saw in the flat they raided looking for Henna, and he has no problems witnessing dead bodies; unusual for someone in financial crimes. And he has exceptional physical skills, where'd that come from? Kaarpi commented that people from financial crimes don't often transfer to major crimes. Unfortunately for him, he got too close to the drug fire and is paying the price.
Also, he is the rule keeper half of this partnership. Fans complain that he doesn't jump to Kaarpi's defense when she's being disciplined but I think he broke rules and procedures in his previous job and is skating on thin ice with this posting, so he hesitates to go against authority.
And most important, where's his money come from? That nice apartment, and a Porsche? Trips to Italy, Malta? C'mon.(Although Malta may have been job related, getting him out of town for a while)
As for Kaarpi, what's her backstory? She doesn't know her father; she reacted so strongly to being called a whore, does that have something to do with her mother? At the start of S3, we aren't told why she was suspended, but it's obvious she's the rogue cop in this duo. She's seems averse to physical contact from others, but recognizes when she's injured and needs help. She gives weak hugs to Peltola as a greeting, she flinches when Nurmi brushes against her opening the car door and when he reaches to examine her head wound in S1. She loosens up around Nurmi when drunk in S1, but doesn't respond to him in S2, tho it's apparent she's attracted to him as more than a cop partner. By S3, we see their emotional bond is developing, yet even then she flinches when he reaches for the leaf in her hair. She definitely warms up to Nurmi, but until then seems cold and aloof. Maybe the end of the series is sparing us from learning that the poor thing suffered trauma or abuse growing up.
As you can see, I'm putting way too much thought into this series. Because it's that good.

In Deadwind, the character Nurmi is a coffee gourmet and always offers Karppi strong coffees, always being hungry and eating meatless sandwiches, not opening the door of her luxury car many times to anger Karppi, how she got that luxury car as a cop, how she easily meets many women. I wonder if the fact that they were together and didn't care about them caught the attention of the audience? Has family trauma been effective in this? In addition, the security guard insulted KARPPI at the nightclub where they went to investigate the girl named NEA, who was murdered in the 3rd season, and it didn't suit her that NURMI kept silent and tried to take KARPPI away by being silent. KARPPI gave that rude man the punishment he deserved....Nurmi's approach to Karppi and her feelings were never clear, considering her approach to other women. However, Karppi is very clear..
Was it a planned move by Karppi to shoot Nurmi with two bullets without blinking an eye? Nurmi's "Did you know I'm wearing a bulletproof vest?" What did it mean for Karppi to answer the question "No, I didn't know"? If Karppi had fired at Nurmi to kill him, she wouldn't have asked Nurmi why she was late. She knew then that she was wearing a vest. If there is no coordination between them, why did Nurmi ask this question to Karppi and what was her expectation?
She shot him with 2 bullets because Paarma told her to, was watching from a drone. Watch and listen carefully, you hear him over her phone say she got his 'message'. This was telling her to kill Nurmi.
Somehow she assumed he was wearung a vest. Why he bothered to ask her if she knew is beyond me. Just an example of their strange form of communication. Her 'no' didn't seem to bother him.

Birinci sezonda Nurmi Laura ile birlikteyken motelde Karppi 'nin " Kız arkadaşın var mı " diye sorduğu soruya neden hayır diye cevap verdi? Çocuk istemeyen biri olarak neden Laura 'dan çocuk sahibi olma durumuna düştü? Uyuşturucu kullanması bahane olsaydı Nurmi de uyuşturucu kullanıyordu. Nurmi çelişkilerle dolu bir karakter.

Queria uma 4 temporada também, eu tinha visto na internet que a autora da série só tinha escrito 3 temporadas parece que ela não é original netflix porque ela passa no canal do país de origem e a netflix comprova as temporadas

Yemek yeme ve en lüks kahveleri içme gurmeliğinde hatta titizliği ve konforuna dikkat etmede hiç çelişkisi yok Nurmi 'nin. Çizgisinde son derece tutarlı.Geçmişte başka birçok kadınla da ilişkisi olduğu ilerleyen bölümlerde ortaya çıkıyor.Anne ve babasını çocuk yaşta kaybedip babaannesiyle yaşaması ,yetimhanede psikolojik tedavi görmesi etken desem emniyette nasıl polis oldu ?Anne ve babası birbirini öldüdüğü için ikisine de kızgın bunu da biliyoruz.Karppi 'nin huysuz ve asi olmasının da bilinç altında ölen kocasıyla yaşadıklarının etkisi var ama tutarsız değil bir çizgisi var.Bu senaristten kaynaklanıyor bence..Lauri Tilkanen iyi bir oyuncu bunu fark edip senaristi uyarmalıydı bence.

At some point, this became the only thing worth watching the show for in my opinion. They are a very likeable pairing. The cases themselves are very uninteresting after szn 1 in my opinion.
you know I watch his face and he shows very little emotion when he looks at her. He's a bit hard on her.
Actually they love is strong,in third season its obvious that they really trust each other,you don't need to see kisses And hook up to see strong feelings,just watch the body language

This is an utterly atrocious screenplay, coupled with abysmal acting performances. It's abundantly clear that the creators failed to even glance at any reputable British or American detective productions prior to embarking on this cinematic disaster. The sheer multitude of errors is staggering, with contrived connections that strain credulity to its breaking point. To sit through this travesty is not merely a waste of time but an insult to the very notion of quality entertainment.
This is a really bad scenario, with poor acting. They should have watched some British or American detective dramas before making this film. There are numerous mistakes. The connections feel forced. It's a waste of time.
