You don't have acceleration because you are in too high of a gear for the speed you are going.....running at too low of an RPM The closer to 7000rpm you run the better acceleration you will have......this is not a low end muscle bike Yes every other HD has throw back acceleration at 2500-4500rpm, but they all redline 5000-6500rpm, V-Rod redline is 9000 If you were riding 1 probably 2 gears lower you'd have that acceleration........with exception of starting off you could probably run in 2nd all the time(I wouldn't recommend it but you could) that's 90mph 145kph and it will suck down the gas....you run dyna/Softail 3500-4500 it will suck down the gas That's why the "big bores" are faster out of the hole than crotch rockets, but once the cr gets to the power band they'll go screaming by Keep it 5-7k and you'll be amazed at the acceleration........and remember there's more after 7k
