    Test drove it today at my local Tesla. Makes my American built M3P feel like its from 1995...... All the reviewers saying its not that different in terms of noise and ride comfort from the old must be from mars. The difference is HUGE.

    • @ProXcaliber

      I don't currently own a Model 3, but I do plan on buying one later this year. In the process of trying to decide which one I want to buy, I rented a Tesla Model 3 Long range from 2023 on Turo and a Model Y Long range from 2023 as well. They were both amazing, and then I heard news that this new refreshed model was out and wanted to do a test drive of it. So I booked my test drive, and the difference from both the 2023 Model 3 and Model Y is VERY noticeable. The ride comfort is greatly improved, and the noise insulation is also much quieter, especially on the highway. All the other extra added features and styling is just a welcome bonus at this point. Anyone who says this refresh is barely different from the outgoing models, must be very privileged to drive much nicer cars regularly. All in all, I agree with your opinion entirely.

      @@Jjengering Ive driven pretty much ever Tesla there is extensively minus the S lineup…Prefaclift SR, LR, P, refresh SR+, LR, P, Model Y SR, LR, P. The jump in refiment is still massive. From a comfort and noise perspective, the Shanghai models are the same car with double glazing which does help but doesnt change the above points that much. They still use the same suspension setup and similar sound deading even if built quality is better. Im talking about ride quality, noise and comfort specifically.

The seats are better for long distance travel and the cabin is so much quieter ( compared to my old 2019 model). Congrats on the new car, looks awesome in black! @@derekwhite5090 To me personally, range is a big deal when it comes to EVs, as well as efficiency. It means that even in a worst case scenario, you can still expect a decent amount of range out of the car. And it also adds a bit more value for the price you are paying. It is the same as if in a gas or diesel car, where a manufacturer may raise the horsepower on a vehicle, while maintaining the same amount of MPG. Or vice versa, if they keep the same amount of horsepower but increase its efficiency and raise MPG. Think of this as an EV keeping the same amount of horsepower and torque, while raising “MPG” or rather efficiency and range.

  • @Chris-mh3vf
    @Chris-mh3vf Před 4 měsíci

    Are the headlights much better?, do the wipers work properly on auto ? Can you turn main beam on before the auto lights do after passing an oncoming vehicle , you used to be able to have the main beam manual only, that was taken away and where I drive in the countryside with no streetlights the 3 to 5 seconds waiting for the headlights to come on again is frankly dangerous. Does it have v2l and if not why not! Does it handle properly ? Is the ride acceptable.

    Picking my Highland LR up next week. First Tesla so found this quick set up very useful. When you turn up do they point you to an open car so that you can check it out before accepting delivery and T&Cs? At home I will try and keep within 20 to 80% but realise that longer journeys are probably going to be different. As yours is the LR with a recommendation to "normally" charge to 80/85%, as you start to use on a regular basis I would be interested in your thoughts on this rather than the 100% of the SR LFP. Also going down below 20%.on a regular or just occasional basis.

    • @ProXcaliber
      @ProXcaliber Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yes, you can take a look at the car before accepting delivery, and it’s highly recommended that you do to spot anything you would like to be addressed. As far as charging, it is recommended to keep it between 20% and 80% and to slow charge as much as possible. There is a great and very recent video uploaded by Engineering Explained that actually goes into great detail about charging and battery health.

      Ours was from portbury docks in Bristol. They unlock the car, open the boot to locate it, let you go and walk round it check it all and sit in it then go back in sign some paperwork if financed then off you go. Im 2.5 k in and maintain my battery slow charging off the 3 pin one from 30/40% to 80.been no trouble, cars parked long enough to do as it takes a bit of time. Great car, headliner trimas developed a few minor rattles, but i ignore it. Enjoy.

Waiting for performance to come out and I will put in an order, bucket seats are apparently coming in P version but might lack ventilated seats.
